Kieran gives quotes same day, responds promptly to calls and completes work at or below the cost of the quote. Kieran listened to my specifications and followed through perfectly. Some parts of our project were small enough that he worked alone but for other parts his assistants came and they were wonderful as well. Worksite was left clean and tidy, workmen were all respectful and helpful. Kieran is truly an craftsman and artisan and his assistant George did a fabulous job replicating details from around our bay window to add some grace around the fireplace across the room. I would recommend Bestwall for simple plastering as well as restoration and fabrication of architectural details.

As usual, Kieran did an exceptional job, completing transforming our very cracked walls and ceiling into beautiful, clean walls that are as smooth as glass. We have been working with Kieran over the last two years to help us replaster the walls and ceilings of our 1901 victorian. Prior to our home office project, he helped us rehabilitate the plaster walls and ceilings of our front parlor, entry hallway and staircase. We had some very significant plaster issues/cracking, which Kieran completely stabilized. One of his most impressive projects with us was to replace some wedding cake detail, which had sustained water damage and been sanded of in one corner of the ceiling. Kieran and his team made a mold of another corner which was still in tact and installed the mold in the damaged area, perfectly blending the detail in the old design with the newly molded area. His work was so perfect that our friends and neighbors can't believe that section of the ceiling isn't original. Kieran is a true artisan. He is incredibly detailed and always walks through his work with us at the end of the project to make sure that we are completely happy with the end result. He's incredibly patient with us in answering all our questions. Most important, he is incredibly respectful of our home. Plaster work can be incredibly dusty, but Kieran always leaves everything clean at the end of every work day. And, it's always comforting to know that we can leave him and his crew to complete the project while we're off at work. Plaster work can be expensive, but compared to other contractors' estimates/portfolios of work, Kieran's work is well priced. We plan to enlist his help with our remaining room projects.

We used Bestwall Plastering to repair a damaged wall, and based upon the job they did, I can highly recommend them. We have an older home that has plaster over wood lathe walls. On one section of our dining room wall, the plaster began to come loose f, rom the wood lathe, and bow out. Some cracks had begun to form, and based on our prior experience, we were expecting a tough job. The last time something like this happened, they removed all of the plaster down to the wood lathe, and then had to replaster. It was dirty, and took a number of days between each coat of plaster. Once done it took about a week to fully dry. When I called Bestwall, Kieran said he could come by the next Saturday, and would be there at 8:30. From what I described, he thought he might be able to repair the wall that same day. He arrived early, and after looking over the job gave us a written estimate, and explained how he would repair the wall. Using a special fastner he pulled the plaster tight to the lathe. Then he applied a mesh fabric and skim coated the entire section of wall. The area was about 3' by 17', and he was able to have it done by midday. He took his time working, and that gave me a chance to talk with Kieran. I quickly learned that he is a true craftsman, when it comes to plaster. He showed my wife and I some of the ornimental work he's done, and it is truly amazing. When he finished up, he swept up, vacuumed, and then wiped down the floor. He treated our home, as if it was his own, and if it wasn't for the moved furntiure you would never have know the work was done that morning. I originally published a review for Bestwall, a few days after they did the work. However, when I was on Angie's List today, I noticed my review was not there, and I wanted to re-enter it. However, the best recommendation I can give is that since this work was done, we have Kieran scheduled to come back in a few days to work on two other walls that need repair. Having found Kieran, and Bestwall, I don't need to look for anyone else when we have a problem with any of the walls or ceilings. If you have an older home with plaster walls, and particularly if you have any decorative plaster work in you home, call Bestwall if you need to make any repairs. They're the best, and i can highly recommend them. Note: We called them back to do some additional work at our house. Once again they did a great job. Kieran came out with his crew, and worked along side them. They skim coated 2 1/2 plaster walls, and repaired some drywall on an enclosed porch. The walls all came out great. They work very neat, and leave the place clean when their done. When they finished Kieran went over the work with me to see if I had and issued, but just like the first time the did some work for us, everything came out great. IF YOU HAVE AN OLDER HOME WITH PLASTER WALLS, MAKE THEM YOUR FIRST CALL IF YOU EVER NEED ANY REPAIRS.

All went well. Coordinating with other contractors and insurance issues slowed things down but Kieran was there when he was scheduled to be. All work was completed to our satisfaction and just a couple of splatters from paint were noted, nothing to be overly concerned about.

Had set some initial dates for work, however, my choice to get others opinions prior to proceeding with the work given the cost. With the delay, it became more than a month out before could schedule the work. He came on time. Initially there was some confusion on his part on what he estimated the scope of work. So suggest if its part of a wall, or ceiling, to take photos and print out and mark up if you do this type of project. I think that he completed the work in less than 4 hours; we where comfortable with paying him and letting him work in the house and then lock up, since we both had work that day and could not do remote. Did not want to delay work further since needed to do before could schedule painting. He repaired/smoothed out approximately a 5 ft by 13 ft section of the ceiling. Two areas of prior repair work from bathroom water leaks. It looks fine, and will know more once its painted again. If you are seeking a high end plaster repair for a prominent area and willing to pay for it, recommend. I found it too costly to redo the full ceiling, so living with the "wavy" nature of the rest of a plaster ceiling. I will have to move away from the satin finish for a plaster ceiling I like, to matte.

I am seeking a refund of the $ 250.00 I initialed paid for this contact. He confirmed that if I wanted a review I need to contact Angie's list. Please return my funds to my credit card immediately. I was not begging for the services, I paid for it.

It did NOT go well. I just read that Bestwall Plastering, Inc is in Jersey City, NJ ! Why would he offer to work at the tip top of Orange County, NY without a few words about the (large) size that the job would need to be to make it profitable? A simple explanation of his problem (even when he called) would have avoided this VERY negative review.

Bestwall Plastering was great! Kieran is a master at his job. Not only was he extremely responsive, he worked around our tight timelines, and was able to do a phenomenal job. I'm very happy with the end result. We had our walls half-cut due to mold, and he was able to put up new walls/plastering and smooth it out enough where we only had to sand it. He also provided great guidance and direction around some other things in the house. Not to mention he came out to Stamford CT to do the job. I've found my new drywall guy!

Thanks goodness we finally found Kieran at BestWall Plastering. Before contacting him, we had talked to several providers and never seemed to get a straight answer about how to deal with the long cracks across our plaster ceiling, which had been repaired poorly before we moved in. Someone even told us we'd have to take the whole ceiling down. Then came Kieran to the rescue. He provided us with a detailed and helpful assessment of the situation, explained that it was an easy fix, and did a beautiful repair in just half a day. Most important was the peace of mind in knowing that our ceiling was in good shape and that he didn't try to sell us on a bigger project than we needed. Kieran is an extremely talented craftsman -- absolutely worth the money to have this done right.

He was prompt, polite, and worked quickly with a partner. One Saturday they did the plaster repair, and the second Saturday they repainted. They were neat, draped everything and cleaned up afterwards, and all told did a fabulous job! I HIGHLY recommend them!

Rude doesn't even come close to my experience with this company. I called to have a room plastered and told him I heard about him on Angie's list. He told me several times that he was very busy, said it would cost me $75 for him to give me an estimate, and when I asked him about whether he could give me an estimate over the phone, he said he didn't have time for this and hung up on me!

It was very good. I would recommend him. After I spoke to him on the phone and discussed what the job was all about, he told me he would come the next day. He came out once to look at the work, then the next day, he came on time with his helper and also helped me with the air conditioner, which was causing the problem. He did an excellent job.

I had several large cracks running through an original plaster ceiling in my apartment, in a building that dates back to the early 1900s: mostly stress fractures from age but also one 5-ft.-long crack that was beginning to leak from the building roof directly above and was on the verge of falling down. The two repair solutions proposed by the building owner were either to tear out the whole ceiling and replace it with sheetrock (creating both an extreme dust situation in a small living space and the release of potentially harmful substances, like asbestos and lead, in the original plaster and underlying paint coats) or to install a drop ceiling over the original damaged one, which was also something I did not want, again for safety reasons. I contacted Kieran based on other member reviews. He came out for an initial consultation and proposed to ?pin? the existing plaster into the joists above using special screws and washers roughly every 10 inches on both sides of the cracks, then apply a two-coat veneer plaster with a fiberglass fabric mesh embedded between the two layers across the whole ceiling (116 sq. ft.). He and his two-man team came out a few weeks later and made the repair. They arrived promptly at the scheduled time. They protected whatever pieces of furniture couldn?t be moved with plastic sheeting and dropcloths on the floor, and sealed off the doorway so no dust would come into other rooms of the apartment. The whole job was done in roughly five hours. They cleaned up as best they could afterward, but since they themselves were covered in plaster dust, there was only so much they could do, and I still had some cleanup after they left with their tools and equipment. Kieran and his two workmen were friendly, courteous and professional. I felt immediately that I could trust them to do the job correctly and with very little hassle, which turned out to be the case. It was a simple, clean and elegant solution to the problem. The ceiling looks beautiful, like new. I would definitely use this company again.

I like absolutely everything about the work that he did and the way he presented and the way he explained the work. He really helped us understand exactly what he's doing, why and what the issues were and weren't. He was wonderful. There's nothing about him that wasn't wonderful. There's no room for improvement. He's that good. The price was excellent also. He told us to, you know, about the insurance company and how to go about that, they compared the bill et cetera, et cetera. He's also gonna give me painting at the the end of the month for $14000. The quality is an A+. I'll absolutely use him again in the future.

Bestwall Plastering arrived requested more money for coming to my house for a quote. He then provided such a ridiculous quote for plastering less than 20 square feet that I asked him to leave. Even though I purchased a coupon, he collected an additional l$75 just for walking in the door. A very bad business! I would never use him again.

Totally wonderful. I recommend them wholeheartedly. Their motto is “Expensive but worth it”. That is true.

Excellent. Kieren was very responsive and professional. Other contracters wanted to rip out all the bedroom walls and reinstall drywall. I'm sure because it is not easy to find a a good plaster professional. Kieran was able to repair the bedroom wall for a fraction of the cost.

Things went horribly. Kieran was extra nice when he showed up at my house to give me the estimate, and collect the $75 deposit. There were two hallways and a stairwell to be repaired. The day he arrived, he pretended I never showed him an area upstairs and quoted me an extra $650. When I asked him if he had carefully surveyed the walls downstairs (as a professional) when I pointed bulges out to him, didn't he do the same for upstairs when I showed him the needy areas, he became very upset and irate and started yelling saying "I don't need this job! I'm very busy! We gotta stick to the contract!" I told him I really wanted the work done and asked what was the best price he could give me considering. He told me he was going to call his office and not take the job - despite the fact that i took the day off work to be home to get the job done. He said he was busy with other jobs and didn't have time and didn't appreciate being harassed and proceeded to storm out the door, get in his truck, and drive away. If you use this guy, don't rely on his professionalism to tell YOU what needs to be done. Because when he arrives, he will tell you something different and try to get more money out of you. Worst upfront and most disappointing experience I've had with a contractor in the seven years I've owned my house.

Very disappointed on the first call. For him $75 is more important than the work itself. I asked him for the per square rate for the drywall he refused to give and hang up on me.

Our house is well over 100 yrs old. There was extensive damage to the ceiling in the main hallway above the stairwell and in the master bedroom. Kieran came out to review the project, explained his approach and gave a decent quote on the spot. The price was reasonable especially considering the extent & location of the damage. We decided to proceed right away and Kieran returned in two days to begin work. The work was arduous..there were large areas where plaster had fallen down but using special brackets, Kieran was able to salvage/restore everything. After applying several layers of plaster, the ceilings look great now! Smooth as glass -- you can't tell that there was ever any holes there, it's like a new ceiling! Kieran/Bestwall is great!!! They're very professional, courteous, punctual, honest and a real pleasure to work with. We have other projects for which we will need/use Kieran's expertise....I highly recommend him!!!

Sent an e-mail requesting an estimate to the service provider. Vendor was very punctual in responding. However after setting an appointment date and time with the person identifying himself as Kieran, he said there would be a $75.00 charge for this visit. I told him I did know there would be a fee, he abruptly hung up the phone. I did not get a chance to question the "ask for details" noted in their information on your list. This company may do good work, but should improve their customer service skills.

The job went extremely well. There was an area which was not plastered, so I called Mr. Quilligan, and he came over immediately, and completed the job.
