Allweld Iron

Wonderful. I was able to send Jose an image through text of what needed to be done and he gave me a price the same day. Was on time, and followed up to finish service promptly. I was able to pay half the day the guards were removed and the other half when they were re-installed. He was extremely polite and worked with my schedule.

Jose did a fantastic job matching the fence and gate to the 115 year old originals on our entire block. He is a really nice man who takes pride in his work. We even had several month delay in the job that prevented him from putting them in right away. He just asked that we keep in touch. I have recommended him to two of my friends who have had as good an experience as we did. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

I called Jose and he was very professional and responded promptly. I texted him pictures of my front steps and he instructed me on how to measure the steps. I texted him the measurements. He advised me that from the pictures it looked like the shutters would be in the way preventing the railings from being fastened to the wall. I cut the bottom of my shutters 2 inches on each side and sent him the measurements again. He gave me a date and came out when he said he would. He came with a helper and finished the project in one day. The whole process from when I first contacted him to when he finished took about 3 weeks. I actually never met Jose in person because I work during the day, the whole project was handled by phone and text. I am very pleased with the work and the price was about half of what others quoted. I would not have used him if I did not see all the great reviews he had on Angie's List because the price seemed too good to be true, but I and very glad that I did. I would recommend Allweld to anyone who is looking to have railings installed.

The job was relatively small but we wanted to have it done right, we're a little anal that way. After looking at several places we decided to go with Jose because we liked what people were saying about the work quality and he wasn't one of those large companies where you get lost in the shuffle. We called him on a Monday he asked us to send him pictures, we did and he came by that weekend to look and take measurements. We were a little nervous because the front steps are new with 2" thick blue stone. It was only about 6' of railing on either side but he did it in a week and by the following Friday we had beautiful new rails, in perfect position and our blue stone is still perfect!!! Jose and his brother was great and as I watched them drill the stone with my jaws clenched he reassured me it would be ok... and it was!! They even start with smaller drills and work their way up in size to not "shock" the stone. We are VERY happy with the results.

Because their work is such high quality at a fair price, Allweld Iron is in great demand. It took us months to finally get on Allweld's schedule. While we waited, however, Allweld's owner was always responsive, professional, and kept us informed. The Allweld team arrived as promised. The owner went over the work that would be done, and his crew got right to work. Our home has two massive iron gates, one of which had fallen off due to a rusted gatepost and the other was dented after being hit by our snowplow. The Allweld crew welded the dented gate straight again. Then they recovered the gate that had fallen off (we had leaned it against our backyard fence). They repaired and welded the rusted out gatepost, rehung the gate, welded in pieces of the decorative ironwork that had fallen off the gate when it fell, and balanced both gates so they opened and closed evenly. They primed all the areas that were welded, so the gates were ready for painting. Allweld did an excellent job with all of these. Then, to our pleasant surprise, Allweld's owner and crew attached a new gatelatch that fit into a small hole that they redug, which further held the gate firmly in place. As an additional courtesy the Allweld team reattached a missing screw to a side gate which we had not noticed. Needless to say, we highly recommend Allweld Iron. The owner was a pleasure to deal with, and their service and work were excellent.

A tree fell on our roof and damaged the iron railing and roof access ladder on our deck. Jose promptly answered my call and came out to provide an estimate within 24 hours. He was able to complete the work quickly, and was very flexible at working with our schedule. His work seamlessly matched the existing iron work.

Another contractor was supposed to do the job but was totally unresponsive so I switched to Allweld. I waned a rush job so the railing would be done before Christmas. The were very responsive and agreed to do the job before Christmas. Heavy rain prevented them from doing it on the original date scheduled but they called to let me know they had to reschedule. The called back like they said they would and rescheduled the work. They showed up on time, did a quality job and cleaned up after themselves. I was very pleased and totally satisfied.

I called him on Tuesday, sent a photo and measurements on Wednesday, Jose installed on Friday. .Straightforward transaction. A pleasure to deal with.

He was very helpful and knowledgable. He was just so good! He showed up on time. He actually taught me how to take all the required measurements for the stairs so that he would have the information and be ready to build rather than have to take them and come back. I really enjoyed my experience with Jose and would recommend him highly.

This company was referred to me by a family friend in Jersey City who had some work done with fire escapes. She was very happy with the work peformed and the service provided. I called Jose and left him a message on a Monday. He called me back the next day to schedule a time to meet. He got there early and looked over the job as I was on my way and called me back saying that he knew exactly what needed to be done and I didn't have to go meet him. I thought that this was a plus since it wasn't convenient for me to meet with him at that time. He quoted the job for $250 which was a reasonable price and that he can do it before the end of the week. He took the broken front railing with him to his shop to do some repairs to it and brought it back the end of the week to install. He came to install the railing when he said he would and arrived on time. He drilled the holes on the cement porch and used concrete to install the railing in place. The railings were even painted. I was not onsite during the install but arranged for someone else to be there to make sure that job was done properly. I was very happy with the service that Jose provided. He was very personable on the phone and performed the install very professionally. I would definitley use him again and highly recommend him.

Jose came with his brother. Everything went well. The entire job took him a little over three hours. He was pleasant to deal with from beginning to the end. He came one day to give me a quote first. He did the job a couple of weeks later. It was mainly to fix the side gate, front gate, and the broken corner of my front porch needed to be welded. I find him to be honest and friendly.

While using our fireplace, we've been getting smoke occasionally coming back into the house. A chimney sweep told us that our fireplace was basically built too big for the size of our chimney, so he recommended installing a smoke guard -- a piece of metal that would hang down from the front of the fireplace -- essentially reducing its size and lessening the problem of backdrafts. Problem is, the front of our fireplace is curved instead of straight, so I'd have to get something custom-built. I traced the opening of our fireplace, brought it to Jose and explained what I needed, and he made it exactly to my specifications. He even made a few holes so I'll be able to easily attached it to the fireplace ceiling, and he primed it, so all I have to do is apply another coat of paint. I couldn't be happier. I'd highly recommend Jose and Allweld Iron!

FANTASTIC!!!! I cannot say enough good things. I worked with the owner, Jose, who is an absolutely delightful man to work with. He was prompt and quick to come over and give an estimate and quote. I live in the historic district of Jersey City and he worked with me providing several sketches and information to give to the Historic Preservation Commission in order to have the bar design approved. He was very fast to return phone calls, text messages, and e-mails. The bars he made me were custom but it still only took about a week from when he was approved to start work and when they were installed. He was very punctual, knowledgeable, and professional. He provided receipts for deposits without even being asked to. He is very good at his craft, fairly priced, and easy to work with. Like I said, I cannot say enough good things about Jose and his company. I would never go to anyone else for wrought iron work.

The setup and repair were incredibly quick with little help from me. I'm not a fan of contractors that I feel I need to hover around. They were professional and put forth a sense of confidence that I could leave them to do their work without my interaction. After the job was completed they gave me a call to inspect the work and sign off before accepting payment.

IT WENT GREAT. JOSE SHOWED UP ON TIME AS HE PROMISED. THE WORK WAS PERFORMED IN A TIMELY MATTER AND HE SHOWED UP WITH HIS WORKERS AND THEY DID A GREAT JOB. RECOMMENDED HIM TO MY NEIGHBOR WHO ALSO USED HIM FOR SOME REPAIRS. I WAS HAPPY WITH THE QUALITY OF HIS WORK AND ALSO WITH HIS PRICING. WILL DEFINITELY USE HIM AGAIN.

Jose was friendly, helpful and offered great ideas. He built railing quickly and was flexible on installation date which was a great help to me. Jose and partner did installation and were very particular in drilling, filling any openings or cracks and putting on an additional coat of paint. I appreciated their thoroughness. I have referred my cousin to him and would definitely use him again. We are very happy.

It was a great experience. They have done a small job for me almost 2 years ago and when I needed to fix my handrails, I desperately tried to find the business card they gave me before but was unable to find it. I then decided to join Angies List in the hope that I will find a great contractor. As soon as I saw Allweld Iron on the listing, I automatically remembered that this was the company that worked on my house 2 years ago. Of course, I called them and have been extremely satisfied with their job.

Jose is fast and thorough. As stated above, he came, measured and priced the job. His prices are reasonable and doable. His designs are laid out in his shop and the samples are on the wall. His timing was impeccable and true. He comes in on time and does the work quickly and efficiently. I was so pleased with the installed fence and how it looks, I am replacing all the fencing in front of my home.

I had an iron damper to a fireplace that was broken into pieces by a falling brick. Jose put it back together and welded while I waited! Great service and a quality repair!

Jose came one evening for an estimate. We spoke about the requirements of the job. He took measurements and gave me some really good ideas. Then he gave me the estimate on the spot, and he took the railings. Four days later he installed the railings and window guards. Nice guys, professional, they were so nice I even made lunch for them.

They did a prototype for me to make sure I was happy with the design and then produced the other ones.The work was very professional and timely and I am happy with the end result.
