Description of Work: He has been at my home many times, as I have a 100 year old house with many issues. He has upgraded my heating system and for the first time in years, it is working great. He has upgraded my air conditioning system to a more modern-solution, and it also works great. When you have any issue, he comes right out. Description of Work: Our central A/C stopped working last July so we immediately called a few companies to determine root cause and get their estimates. We naturally called the larger companies first because we'd seen their Ads on TV. But then I found E & L Heating and Cooling while doing a little research on various A/C equipment brands and their respective reliability. * E & L stood out for several very good reasons and we are very happy we found them! * First, E & L is a family business so the owner himself (Richie S.) came out to meet with us and assess the problem. That alone gets very high marks in my book. Second, Richie was extremely responsive and professional from start to finish. He understood our urgency (it was late July and my family had no A/C) and he was willing to meet when it was most convenient for me. Third, he performed a thorough hands-on inspection of the A/C equipment first before telling me what the problem was, and what our options were. That may sound obvious and intuitive but it was not the same approach the larger companies used when we interviewed them. Instead, they did not seem very interested in finding the real problem but rather they wanted to skip right to having us replace the whole system. Fourth, after doing the inspection, Richie did give us options and he explained each of them thoroughly along with their pros-cons. This was key and the information he gave us really helped us decide how to proceed. There was no sales pressure with E & L, just solid facts and information. A rep from one of the larger companies even tried to get me to sign a contract with them on the spot because their promotion was ending and the price he was quoting might not be valid the next day....Please! Lastly, E & L's prices were very reasonable; even a few dollars lower than the larger firms; and he was able to start the process immediately once we did make our decision. * Save yourself time, trouble, and money.
