It was terrible. I knew I should not have allowed these guys on my property, but I really did it for my neighbor. If I knew they were not going to take any of the wood away that day I would have definitely said no. It was a disgusting display of and quot;taking care of the customer. Obviously, it didn't matter to the and quot;bossand quot; what he said, or how he left the customer. Plus, the fact he told my neighbor to let me know his chipper broke is another display of mistreating the customer. It turns out tat the next day, while driving through Jackson, I saw 4 or 5 of their trucks at a house, and low and behold they were actually chipping the debris! I guess they and quot;fixedand quot; their chipper afterall.
Description of Work: I had 6 trees damaged in Hurricane Sandy and the following nor'easter. A very large oak tree that was just into my neighbors yard was also snapped in the middle and hanging into my yard. I had called a few tree services. One other actually responded to my yard and discussed what needed to be done, what could be saved etc. I dont know if I can say the name, but it was also a Jackson NJ company (Aspen). The price for the work was very reasonable. I also got a price for my neighbors tree, also very reasonable since it would be necessary to tie off and cut most of it. I also was told that someone from Arbor would be out. Someone did come, but I was not at home. He left a price for my neighbors tree (about the same as Aspen) and a price for trimming only one of the trees (a weeping willow) that had lost a majority of its limbs, and the complete top. I waited for my neighbor to decide what they were going to do, but had not heard anything from them regarding the tree for 6 weeks or so. Being the middle of winter, and very cold weather, I wasnt that concerned. Then on 1/31/13 my neighbor, who just so happened to have had a day off, called me and said the tree service was here for her tree, but wanted to use my driveway and property to get to the tree. As it turned out, the previous 5-7 days had been extremely warm, plus we received aprroximately 4 inches of rain in the prior 2 days. So the ground was not only soft, but it was very wet. My neighbor was just so happy that the service showed up on her day off, saving her a days pay, she almost begged me to allow them to cut the tree down. I spoke to the men and asked why they just happened to show up today, knowing full well that it was due to the warm weather and rain, and no one else would allow them on their property, or they couldnt access anyone elses property. The main guy, older man, "guaranteed" me they would not damage my property, told me that they had 'plates' to put down on the ground for the machine, which had treads and not wheels. The weight would be disbursed over an area. Plus they only needed to make a few trips to pull the "brush" out to the truck (approx. 40-50 feet from the "brush" to my driveway. (Turns out the 'Plates" only covered around 15 feet or so). I then asked them t take down my 2 weeping willows, which were surrounded within an 8 foot circle of 2-3 inch stone. The "boss" had said they would pull the stone all the way back from the tree. Well, they moved the stone only a few inches from the trunk' When grinding the stump some of the stone were thrwon up to 15 feet from the trunk, and alot more were simply buried down into the ground with the "mulch." Also, the 6 inch deep plastic edging holding the stone in place, was literally pulled out of the ground and left next to the stone area, for what I have no idea. All of the tree cuttings, including the trunk of the approximately 50 foot oak were dragged out to the street, then piled on my neighbors, and mine, property edge. The company then left. My neighbor told me the "boss" tried several times to contact me to say their chipper broke and they would be back in the morning to chip and remove the cuttings. I was home all day, and no one tried to contact me. a couple of young workers showed up 6 days later to remove what weas left. During this time someone had come and completely removed all of the oak, probably for firewood. It left literally 6 inches of sawdust approx 5-6 feet by 15 feet in area. The "kids" that showed up did what they could removing the rest, but it left me with all of this mess, plus the pieces of branches, pieces of trees, all over my driveway and yard, plus in the gutter leading to the catch basin. A mess that still remains, and that I will need to clean myself. Sorry for the long review, but ti was necessary
