We called for a quote appointment for window replacement and bathroom renovation. Showed up on time, but seemed really in a rush to go. Did not receive an estimate after 8 days. 8/15 Update - We did receive an estimate today.

Work was performed timely and professionally. No problems or issues. Roof received quick approval from the borough construction department.

After my initial contact with them Dominick, one of their contractors, told me the company has a $4000 minimum but he did give me excellent advice on how much my job should cost and where to look for what I need. I would not hesitate to use them in the future because they impressed me as honest

I had my son place a phone call to this vendor. The first time a date was set for them to arrive and no one arrived. I had my son call back a second time and like the first time a date was set, no one arrived or called. I would not recommend this company to anyone.No

They showed up on time and did the work that they said they would. As far as I can tell, they did a good job.

It looks great. I haven't seen any problems and we've had a lot of rain. They were very efficient and prompt.

We needed a new roof. We received very fast response to our first contact. Dan Falato visited us promptly after. He gave us a competitive price, and properly addressed every concern we had. The work was completed at our convenience and to our satisfaction. Dan kept in touch with us before, during and after the work was completed to assure our satisfaction.

The entire process went well. Professional good workmanship and quick. The workers were prompt and worked all day. Communication was excellent. When I had a question it was answered swiftly. Although we are still finding a spare nail every now and again the clean up was great. I would recommend this company.

They were a god send and they were able to finish the work that someone else had started. They were on time. They cleaned up after themselves. They were very efficent.

They were very good, we like the staff, it's a family-owned business and he was very nice. The crew came, it was a large number of guys, they cleaned up well after each day that they were there, I think they estimated that it would take 2 1/2 to 3 days and it took them 2 1/2 days because the 1/2 day is really just been going around and look, checking the work and make sure everything is right. They damaged some of our plants while they were working, they have to take 2 layers of roof off before they could put on the new roof and while they were throwing things down, they damaged some of our plants and we asked for reductions and he said absolutely fine so we were able to easily agree on a small amount so I could replace those plants that has been damaged. All in all it was a very good experience and our neighbor across the street is having their roof at the same time and they are still having their roof done. The guys worked very long days and I think they were 6 at least, and all are very professional. This is the second time we used them, the first time was cleaning the gutters and replacing a chimney cap earlier and I found them through Angie's List.

It was a small job but he took it because I put in a dining room window. He was actually pretty nice. His name was Danny. They were nice, they were professional and they did whatever they said they were going to do. They did siding on the outside, there were pieces of siding around the back of my house, they guys were very never they even caulked the windows, extra caulking and stuff. And they put in a large dining room window like a picture window. He came, he was very pleasant, gave me an estimate for everything. Then he gave me dates he could do it. And what happens was the siding came and did exactly as they said, what happened with the window was there was a huge rain storm the day they were supposed to put it in. Oh it was a snow storm. So he had to cancel but he rescheduled and I told him the day he was rescheduling for I have to be at work by noon I was so impressed. The guy showed up at 9 and they were done in less than two hours. Cleaned up and everything. Vacuumed, cleaned up. the guy said the boss said you have to go to work. They were very efficient. I was like Wow I thought I was never going to get to work. It was very nice of him. They are very efficient and do what they say they are going to do. I am a woman alone so I'm always afraid of getting ripped off. He was very forthright. Told me exactly what they were going to do. I was impressed.

The job went well. Selecting the right contractor to have a new roof and siding installed was a grueling process. After receiving several quotes from contractors, John Fiore and American Home Remodeling were given the task of making me and my wife happy. I was impressed with the professionalism of John and American Home Remodeling. John was knowledgable, friendly, polite, and prepared. He was always accessible, by phone or paid a visit. John was confident in a convincing manner that we would be extremely happy with the final results. John committed to making our home one of the most beautiful house on the block. Our house was currently at the bottom tier of attractive homes on our block. It needed a new roof,siding, front porch, so I joined Angie's list, and did my home work with selecting the right contractor. American Home Remodeling is listed as one of top rated roofing and siding companies on Angie's list. After awarding John and American Home Remodeling with the task of completing the project, they did all of upfront duties, getting permits, dumpsters, etc. Once all of proper documents were granted, which took 2-3 weeks, the project started immediately. The hard working crew showed up at 8am Monday morning, and begin working all throughout the day. I was impressed that the owner of the company and John made frequent visits to make sure the job was being done correctly, which made us very comfortable. They were well respected by the workers. We had no complaints about the working crew. They get high remarks for a doing a great job. Just as John promised, our house now is one of the most gorgeous home on our block. American Home Remodeling exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Our neighbors are very complimentary at the work that was done. Most important my wife and I are ecstatic and extremely happy that we selected American Home Remodeling. THANKS FOR A JOB WELL DONE AMERICAN HOME REMODELING.

Spoke with Victor (the Dad) to arrange everything, then Chris (his son) called to see if he could come by early bc he was in the area. He looked at all the items I had in mind and ultimately told me he can't take my money for these items --- you can knock those things out with a buddy or two. Don't spend the extra 75% on things you can do yourself. Chris was punctual and very professional even though he knew he wasn't going to take a dime. Spent at least an hour with us; you have to give these guys credit for that.. I think the experience you have is a big part of what you feel about dealing with anyone who you do business with. Had an initial meeting with Dan from AHR. Dan was very helpful and explained all the steps and options available. I felt very comfortable working with Dan since its a family owned and runned business. Dan assured me that his family stands by their work and if I had any issues they would be resolved. Roof and gutters were installed on the arranged date, no problems what so ever. I could not be happier with the service performed and would recommend AHR to anyone looking to have their roof redone.

The job went very well. I am very pleased with American Home Remodeling and would use them again. I saw the special been offered on Angie's list and call the company because they had done an estimate at my home a couple weeks before. John came out promptly the next day and measured the house and offered me a good deal. We signed the contract that day and he said we just need to apply for the work permit from the city which could take about 2 to 3 weeks. I ask him to put a rush on it because i was going on vacation next month and want it done before. To my surprise 1 week later he called to say they got the permit and could start the job the next day. The crew showed up 8am the next morning and got right to work. I was impressed that the owner of the Co. himself came out on the first day to talk to me , thank me for the business and check out the job and his workers. I was pleased that the workers stayed on the job until it was done even though the rain push the 1 week job to about 10 days. Plus the same foreman (Ramire)and workers that came on the first day came back everyday until the job was done. They would show up each day at 8am and work straight through until about 6pm. They were careful to move everything out off the way and did not trample on my flowers. They were kind enough to help me remove two huge air conditioner units that were permanently installed in the wall. My yard look like a reck while they were working but once the job was complete they cleaned up all debris impeccably. I had nothing to clean up when they left. They made sure to pick up all the nail of my drive way. My only small complain is that the foreman asked if he could trim the shrubs a bit in order to get closer to the house on one side. I told him yes he could trim them but he got to happy with the trimmer and cut my shrubs down way too much and I was not outside when he was doing that. I was really upset at first but then I let it go because the job looked so good and its probable best that thay are not up on the new siding. Overall, I really love my new siding. It was money well spent. It makes my home look bigger and newer. the color choice and trim was excellent. Thanks John for helping me pick out the colors.The neighbors love it and told me that the workers did a great job. Now I don't have the ugliest house on the block anymore. Now I just have to see if it stand up to the next storm but I am not concern about that because American Home Remodeling assured me that they stand by their work.

I was impressed with the professionalism and honesty of the company representative who we worked with. Originally, we received quotes from 3 other reputable roofers and not only did I feel that I could trust American Home Remodeling, but they also had a better selection and a lower price. The work started one week after the contract was signed and was complete in three days. They were flexible in terms of using extra rain/ice shield and additional ply boards (other contractors were going to charge us more). My only small recommendation for improvement was that they could have done a better job with the clean up as I still spot nails and parts of the roof around the property. Other than that, they did an excellent job. I would definitely recommend them to neighbors and use them again myself

I did not choose them because their quote was too high. I got 3-4 quotes and wound up choosing the one in the middle; I have not got the work done yet. The process in which they provide the quote is good. They were very professional and are good contenders to get quotes from as well.

American Home Remodeling did a great job. If I had any concerns John or Vic took care of them right away. We had vinyl shake siding put on our house and it looks great. They were very professional, answered all our questions and performed the job in a timely matter.

I met with several contract companies for repairing our house because my house was damaged by hurricane Sandy last year. Finally, I chose the American Home Remodeling to work with us. Victor Fiore who managed our project; he was very professional, knowledgeable and responsible to this project. He always quickly responded all the questions as we asked, and I really appreciated Victor were diligent in his work. I will hire this company again to perform any other work in the future. I will recommend to my friends and neighbor who needs to do house work. I give them an A+. I chose them by searching Angie's list. Over all the sales representative was very knowledgable answered any questions I had. He was very professional and punctual. I did not go with this company, because out of the 3 different companies I got estimates from they were the highest.

Dennis Fitzpatrick arrived on a Thursday to give me an estimate on a new roof. He did not have any ladder to inspect the roof, nor did he have any tape or device to measure the roof. He initially looked up and said that I would need new gutters because he noticed that mine were not seamless. He did not ask me if I wanted gutters, he just assumed it. I indicated that I did not want the gutters changed. He did not ask me if I had any leaks in the roof. I found it strange that he walked off steps to measure the roof. When I asked him for the resulting square footage, he said it came to 2400 sq. ft. This was at least 400 sq. ft. higher than any other roofing contractor estimated. He then handed me a business card, with his name and cell phone number written on the back with a price of $12,800. Bear in mind that before giving me the price, Dennis did not discuss anything about my concerns, or about the workmanship or quality to expect. nor did he provide any reference brochures, show me any shingle samples or discuss important things to consider. The quoted price was approximately 50% higher than a previous quote I was given. I found the price to be exorbitant, especially given that he did not discuss any details about the products (such as shingle warranty, decking protection, ice and water shield, starter shingles, drip edge, ventilation needs, etc.), process steps (such as replacing chimney flashing or wall flashing), or workmanship or manufacturer warranty to expect. Of all my dealings with roofing contractors, Dennis was the least professional, seemed to have no interest in my concerns or budget and provided little to no information that could help a homeowner understand the needs of a new roofing job. He then had me walk out to his car and quickly showed me some shingle samples from his trunk. He preferred using IKO shingles, but I was leaning toward GAF. He said that IKO shingles were rated for winds up to 130 mph, but I mentioned that GAF Timberline was also rated the same if you used 6 nails per shingle which he disagreed. I referred him to the GAF website to confirm.. I asked him about his workmanship warranty and he said that it would be 1-1.5 years without any details about coverage. Considering the price, I thought the coverage was very low and it raised a question about their overall quality if they were unwilling to offer a longer warranty. Before he left shortly after that, I asked him when I could expect to get a detailed written estimate. He said I would have it by Wednesday of the following week..That was about 3 weeks ago and I still don't have the estimate. I called the office and him 2 or 3 times and they keep giving me empty promises as to when I will receive the estimate, but it seems obvious to me that I cannot rely on them. Based on these interactions, I would not do business with American Home Remodeling for roofing needs or any other home improvement service they provide. Others may have had better experiences, but in my mind Dennis is unprofessional and uncaring about customer service or customer satisfaction and their prices seem very high compared to their competitors who give much better warranties and go out of their way to educate customers and understand their needs. 7/9/13 - I wanted to provide an update on my experience. I just had my roof done with 17 squares (1700 square ft) of shingles. Remember in my original review I indicated that Dennis estimated 2400 square ft which is about 41% higher than was actually needed for my roofing job by another roofing contractor with a five man crew. Also the actual cost was several thousand dollars less than what was quoted by American Home Remodeling (I never did get a written estimate and question whether one was ever produced). Surely, if one existed, I could have gotten a copy by now. Also I want to note that representatives from American Home Remodeling including Vic Fiore were quick to apologize for my negative experience. Although I did not reconsider them for my roofing needs, I hope that they made some positive changes to their estimating processes so that they are more accurate and provide timely written estimates to prospective customers when requested.

Dan did return, made all corrections to roof and soffit. I am quite pleased with outcome of job. He was also able to help me get a 0% loan for five years. For this I am thoroughly grateful.

We were pleased with the two contractors we used. (AMR was not one of them.)

The entire process went beautifully and smoothly! We received three return phone calls within 15 hours of leaving a message that we were interested in getting an estimate. AHR scheduled an appointment for an estimate within three days. They scheduled the job within two days of receiving permission from the town to proceed. Weather forecasts delayed the start of the job a few days, but they kept us informed of the status of the start-up. AHR began as soon as the weather promised two good days in a row as the shingles AND the cedar shakes would have to be removed and the entire attic would be open to the sky for a period of time.. The job was totally completed in three days -- 33,000 sq.ft house roof plus the garage. They brought in a large crew so that the work would go quickly and smoothly. We were amazed and very pleased. The entire job was finished withing two weeks of our initial call for an estimate. We dealt directly with Dan, from estimate to final payment. He is a delight, knows his stuff and and is both completely professional and a great guy. It felt like dealing with someone we'd known for years and he and the company proved to be totally trustworthy, an important and rare asset in the business world these days. Everyone we dealt with at AHR was great, helpful, prompt in responding and professional. We can't say enough good things about the company. Thank you, American Home Remodeling.
