They were very professional and they cleaned up nicely. They were good. When I had the walkway and the porch done the same young man came and I found their service to have a better price. He was very pleasant and friendly. I loved the work too. I would highly recommend them

The work went great, and we're very pleased with the results. From the beginning our sales rep Dan was very responsive and flexible with the scheduling of the work. Of course we picked the worst winter to start the project, but Dan was able to schedule their crews to come in between each snow storm. They would come back and clear all the snow away so they could continue their work. All the workers knew what they were doing, and the quality of the work is very professional. Overall the project was a complete success and our house came out beautiful. We get nothing but praise and compliments from all our neighbors. I definitely recommend American Home Remodeling to anyone considering them for a Siding, Roofing, or Remodel project.

Subsequent attempts to itemize the change in scope of work through variations that I preferred for the finished product produced quotes that did not tally with my expectations of the revised estimate.

They did a great job! Very nice workmanship, they were thorough and I'm happy the final results.

It was a good experience. They were very good, calm and their prices are reasonable. They worked on my house and another house for me. They hire other people out so they have subcontracted another person and come do the roof for me. The subcontractor happen to look like they just got out of jail and they were actually illegal Mexicans. When they have a job and fix something, they have just a white, old bent up truck with no name so they apparently Danny, subcontractor for these people. The gutter guys were really great, I don't know their names but they're from a separate company that Danny subcontracted at and they did the gutter in the other house for me and that was a really good job. Danny paid for an extra gutter, I didn't really need it but he asked them to put it on anyway. He didn't charged me for it so he was feeling nice about that.

Everything went very well. The house was damaged by fire, water and smoke in August 2013. The flat roof sheathing and roofing material was completely removed and replaced; some of the beams were repaired or replaced. Work on the roof was delayed until November because of the insurance company but Dan's crew worked hard to get the roof done in one day - just in time for a severe rain and wind storm the next day. Since the house was built in 1890, the electrical wiring has been a patchwork over the years so we decided to do a full upgrade rather than just repair the damage from the fire. AHR's electrician did an excellent job removing much of the old wiring and installing a new panel, wiring and outlets in addition to upgrading the service coming into the house. Everything was done very neatly and professionally. We are very satisfied with the work that was done.

I was vetting this company to do quite a lot of work I needed done, the first being exterior painting and gutter and clapboard repair. At the same time, I wanted them to look at the interior projects I need done, being total makeover of basement, kitchen and bath. They had scheduled to give me an estimate on Thursday, August 22, some time between 10:30 and 12:30. Chris called to say he'd be there between 11:30 and 12, but he called later to say he'd run into traffic on the Parkway and said he couldn't make it, and his office would call me and reschedule. Although I was eager that this work get started, I waited for them to call and did not contact the other prospects on my list. They finally called with the news they weren't doing the type of work I was looking for at that time, but they could recommend someone else and asked me if they could give this other contractor my contact information, and I agreed. So twenty days after Chris from American Home had been scheduled to give me his estimate, the substitute contractor came and gave me his estimate. It seemed fine, and since I'd waited so long, and he was apparently recommended by an Angie's List highly recommended contractor, I hired him for "the exterior painting of house and garage, and replacing any wood that needs to be replaced, fixing or replacing gutters that need to be changed and installing pressure treated wood on window seals, caulk where necessary and paint entire house. all debris will be taken away on completion." Some issues came up after they began the work. I had hoped they'd be able to finish in the time frame they'd cited, but, understandably, it took longer. There was power washing of both the house and the roof that was an add on, as well as installation of an exterior electric outlet. Unfortunately one of the subcontractors had transportation problems and a whole day went by after they'd started when nothing was done. I have had this complaint sitting on my desktop for some time. It was unfinished, because I had not enumerated the ways the job fell short of the quality I'd hoped for, the lead-ridden paint dust in my windowsills, the paint spatters on masonry, the expired license of the contractor, as well as the expired internet domain of his "website." There is more to this story, but I will post it later. I am complaining to the Better Business Bureau about the contractor who "completed" this work, and additions and annotations are going to take too long. I am now in the middle of extensive interior renovation, professional and family obligations that leave me limited time. The reason I restarted this, was I noticed a recent call on my caller ID from American Home Remodeling. It was dialed two nights ago -- as I type -- after 8 pm. Apparently, they did not leave voicemail, as I would have been aware of their call before now. They really let me down by not following through and recommending a low-caliber, unprofessional substitute. It is interesting that the response from American Home Remodeling Inc they made a year plus ago cited the reason they chose not to follow through with giving me an estimate was that the job was too small. What kind of inner business communication do they have? They were originally to come out and estimate complete remodel of bathroom, kitchen and basement. I guess the word got around that I wanted my exterior painted first, and they forgot about the rest. Thank goodness I did find someone wonderful to do my bath and kitchen. I wish I'd had better work done on my exterior.

They were good and did an excellent job!

They had sent out the son in law and he communicated well. He was very professional and answered all my questions well. He was very reachable. He came out to the home to oversee the project as we;;. We did have a few minor issues with them and they started to fizzle towards the end. They started off strong and as an 'A' company and it ended up being a 'C' rating since they started to not answer my calls. The steps were not done quite right so had they to come back out to fix the work. I felt the project was pricey but they did work with us on financing.

Vic, Manny, and their Crew came to our home to repairs years worth of damage and neglect. Years of other roofers piece mealing repairs and destroying our home. They stripped all the layers down to the wood and started from scratch. Adding new sheets of plywood; new wood to slant the roof for drainage, new fasica; new everything...they replaced it all...then they put the new roof on and the new shingles on the lower levels....they replaced missing siding from prior storms and put in new gutters....Plus put a complete new chimney in. The Crew was AMAZING. Polite, professional, and all around wonderful. They worked thru the bad weather (snow) for as long as they could, came back and cleared off everything to really do the job right. You wouldn't even know we were having work done at the end of the day as the area was completely cleaned...not a speck of debris. This company and their crew are the BEST! We are extremely pleased with their work and will definitely be using them in the future for other home projects.

Fabulous. the estimate was done in a timely and convenient manner. the assessment of the job was thorough and accurate to final cost and time frame. the company's representative Dan Faluta was a pleasure to work with: reliable. responsive and friendly

Only issue was some trim needed to be replaced and there numerous delays with the installer's schedule

They had to replace three layers of shingles from over 50 years. Theie work was very good and efficient. They responded immediately when they were told there was some small debris left after the job and cleaned it up completely.

Good so far

My house was built in 1960 and it was too small for my growing family. I wanted to make some addition to the house, but my budget was limited. After months of searching for and meeting with many contractors, I was able to find the right one for my project on the Angies List and they did not disappoint me. Their bidding price was on the lower end, but not the least among the five quotes I had. I chose American Home Remodeling because they promised me a fixed contract price and not a penny more. During the construction, they showed up early every morning and worked long hours until they finish their job. They had teams waiting in line waiting for each particular jobs. Victor, the boss, was a non-stopping general and kept sending his team one after another precisely following his project plan. And each team knew what to do and finished their job marvelously. Also workers never forgot to clean up after their day's work. Contrary to what I was told by many of my friends and neighbors about work delay and inspection postponement, I was too busy following Victor's lead. He promised a prompt job completion and he delivered it in 70 days. I was amazed at his ability arranging the inspection schedule with my town officers. At the end I was so happy with the finished house with new kitchen, new dining room, new bedroom, extended living room and etc. Moreover they made the canopy over the front entrance door and the concrete patio in the backyard. I also asked them to fix fences and install a new garage door in addition to the contracted plan (I paid extra for it). Among the many of his excellent crew teams, the masonry team deserves an extra mention. I loved their hard work and professionalism. Of course they could have done more and better, but I could not be happier with what Victor did for me considering the limited budget I had. Am I going to call Victor & his team again next time? Of course, yes.

They did a good job but there were some extra charges.

American Home Remodeling replaced the roof on my home and provided new gutters and leaders. |I am pleased with the outcome. The roof was replaced within a day and the gutters and leaders replaced the following Monday. I was promptly scheduled an appointment. At the appointment,I was advised of the materials to be used,a price,the techniques used in roofing and new gutters and leaders offered to close the deal. At first I thought the new gutters and leaders were not necessary,but the new addition assured proper drainage and a neater looking home. |The explanation of the process was the selling point for me and after the work began the follow through with answering my questions. The clean-up was not as thorough,there were small pieces of old roofing left on the property;however the methods used appeared to be adequate,not having this type of work done on a regular basis there is no comparison which may be offered. |The negotiations were smooth and all in all it was a pleasant experience!

American Home Remodeling of Irvington, NJ, did a great job from start to finish. Their sales rep was professional, courteous, and very helpful. He suggested a way to take care of a water problem while replacing the roof that would not incur any additional expense. After getting 3 estimates, their price was by far the best, and the fact that they were running a special through Angie's List made it that much more trustworthy for me. They did all the legwork involved in obtaining the permit and made the whole process easy. They arrived exactly when they said they would to begin the job, had good oversight during the project, and actually finished a little ahead of schedule. They did a good job cleaning up the nails and debris. Their workmanship was high quality, and the town inspection passed with flying colors. My roof looks great and I've had a number of neighbors compliment the way it looks. I would not hesitate to use them again to do another contracting job in my home.

They were very professional in their presentation, he knew the material and he showed up on time. He was right on point with what everybody was saying, but he was touching on points, that were in writing. They came me a time frame. He said they come and work as a team and not a one man show. He covered everything from point A to Z, and he was very professional. He never made us feel rushed, and he was very knowledgeable.

I was very impressed with the ingenuity with which they figured out a way to gain access to the roof for the workers and materials, since there is no alley in-between. Approx. 12 men worked on my house for 5 straight days from 8am to 8pm with just a short lunch break. They were polite, industrious, and proud of their work. They worked with an amazing amount of energy. I was blessed to have a picture perfect weather week to accomplish this kind of job. The final job looks professional, neat, and impressively impenetrable. It cost me a lot of money, but I wanted a roof that would guarantee no leaks for many years, and that's what I got. Whenever I felt anxious or insecure about what was being done, my contact person answered my questions and put my fears to rest. The job cost a lot more than I thought it would, but it's impossible to foresee a lot of the issues when you are dealing with a 144 year old house where the roof, chimneys, and skylight were neglected and just patched up! I feel like it was money well spent ... they performed a lot of work in a quality and timely manner! I'm very satisfied!

The slate roof on our 114 year old home was damaged by hurricane Sandy.. After several estimates we decided to go with an Asphalt Shingle roof and contacted American Home Remodeling. Victor Fiore, Jr came to the house and went over everything that needed to be done to replace the roof and fix the damaged chimney. It was an extensive job and included not only the normal roofing material, but since slate roofs were not put on plywood, plywood needed to be laid before the shingles. Victor is very professional, but also makes you comfortable and answered any and all questions we had. He worked with the insurance company to make sure the estimate was satisfactory with the insurance company. The materials and dumpster arrived on the day before work began. Work began on Oct 2, 2013 and was completed on October 4, 2013. The crew was fantastic. They were professional and extremely conscientious and respectful and worked diligently each day. They were amazing to watch. When the work was completed, they cleaned up all the debris. On October 5, Victor came and inspected the job and made sure we were happy with the work. It was a pleasure to work with Victor and the crew from American Home Remodeling and I would not hesitate to call them again when we need work done on our home.

In summary, these guys are the flip side of all the 'remodeling nightmare' stories you'll hear. Workers were always prompt, reliable and professional. They worked on weekends to meet project deadlines. Project manager (Dan) is extremely responsive to questions/concerns and showed strong control of the overall process.

The salesman was wonderful. He came to our house in the evening, explained everything to us, answered all our questions and helped us choose our windows and siding. The window replacement went very well. They arrived ontime and were very efficient. They replaced 36 windows in one day and cleaned up after themselves. One window had been left off the order, so was not done that day. Because the siding guys had to install the last window on a later date. That installation did not happen as smoothly as the rest. A week later we had the siding on the house removed and replaced with new siding. The workman we punctual, but they blocked our neighbors driveway. We live in a very crowed neighborhood with the houses very close together. It would have been nice if they had let us know of their plans so we could have asked the neighbors when would be a good day to use their driveway. They left a mess in the neighbors driveway and my husband had to clean up the mess the entire day afterward. We did find nails and screws in our driveway after cleanup was performed by the workers. There wasn't a sufficient amount of attention to detail among the work crew. The salesman was very responsive to our calls and concerns, but the workers didn't seem to care much. The work was completed on time and on budget, but the finishing touches are not what I expected for the amount of money I paid. The corners on the trim are not done properly. They look amatuerish. The siding aound the railing on the front porch is cut funny. The shutters that were orginially ordered and installed looked too small for the trim around the windows. When we were doing the final walkaround, I had to point this out. The salesman reordered the shutters and had them reinstalled. They look much better. Overall the house looks much better than it did originally. The windows are wonderful!
