Although the work was done in 2011, our steps and railing are falling apart. Just the other day, someone put their hand on the railing and it snapped in half. One of the boards to the stairs is all warped. There are cracks all throughout the wood. We seasoned the wood and painted it yearly, but you cannot save poor workmanship. If I could add photos to this review, I would.

It go very well. They did exactly what I asked them to do Everything looks as I imagine it I was communicating with sales manager John through the entire job. Very polite and professional the guy knows his work inside and out.

American was punctual and completed the project on schedule. Fair price, great Job and my neighbors are jealous.

Very very expensive. Would not recommend this company to anyone. Found a company that did more work than they would do n 4,000.00 cheaper. Go with Gabriele roofing n siding in nutley. You won't be disappointed.

I worked with Dan Falato. I was very happy with the sales process. Dan is a great guy to work with, not big on pressuring the sale. His price was very reasonable and on par with other bids we received. Working with Dan and his team during the process was excellent. They were very accomodating. I had a lot of last minute small little detail changes/requests, more than I thought I would. Dan and his team never complained. We are building a deck off the back of the house and they were more than willing to install the siding with the expectation of a deck/ledgerboard. The only issue I had was communication. The weather was very uncooperative. On one occasion I was expected the workers to show and they didn't. A very minor thing, but something I recommended they improve. I would absolutely use Dan again in the future.

From the time we signed up with Angie's List, on March 28th, the entire job went flawlessly. We were contacted so the size of the roof (which is a two story Colonial, with a lower roof over family room/garage) and a determination made to size, layers of shingles to be removed, etc.. This took place on April 1st. We were contacted once again when the provided had the permit, which they took care of getting. The roof job took placed on April 18 & 19th. The gutters and leaders were installed on the morning of the 20th. During the process Nick Fiore came from the office to check on the status of the work and talk with us. During the entire process the contractor and workers kept their word on when they were coming and what was to be done. As most people we are busy and juggling much in our personal life. It was a pleasure to have such a reliable company work on our house. We would recommend them highly if you are looking for a quality job and dependability.

Dan Falato and his 2 work crew were outstanding. From the initial meeting to the completion of the job, Dan was very professional, honest and engaging. The work crew showed up on time as promised and worked hard from 7:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. to complete the job within two days. Every facet of the roof replacement was explained in detail and executed as explained. My neighbors were also impressed with the hard working crews, no disturbing noise, cleanliness after the job is complete.

I contacted about 7 different providers for estimates. Most of them were around $13,000. One was at $19,000 and one was at $23,000! Dan met with me and went over everything very professionally and without pressure. He really came down on his price to $11,900 and that sealed it. The crew started the following week. They worked very fast and meticulous. We had a lot of detail on our house and they did a great job. Neighbors were impressed, too. The only thing was, they cut a lot of plastic siding on our lawn and as a result there was lots of small sharp pieces in the grass. I had to crawl around on my hands an knees with a shop vac to get all this debris out of there. Even though they used a magnetic sweeper to capture some nails around the house, my detailed clean up found about 12 - 15 nails in various places. Not a big deal for me because he gave us such a break on the price. Probably any contractor would have left some debris behind anyways. I have small kids that I wouldn't want to get cut on those. Now our house looks amazing!

I contacted American Home Remodeling to see if they could do some work I needed done in my basement due to some termite damage. Unfortunately, they do not handle the type of work that I needed done. However, the people that I interacted with at this company were extremely friendly, responsive and very professional. I sent them a message through Angie's List on a Monday night and I received a reply by around 9am the next morning. After speaking with them later in the same day, the company sent someone to my house to look at what needed to be done. Amelia and Dan are true professionals and we would definitely call them in the future.

Very Professional. Dan came to the house right away and from day one he took control of the job. Within a week I already had the permits mailed to my house. If you know the town of Teaneck you would know what a miracle that was. His workers were very courteous and always took the time to explain every step of the process. The job was completed exactly how and when he said it would be done. You can't ask for anything else from a contractor. A total professional operation. I would use him for any other projects that come up in the future. And I would highly recommend him to anyone.

American Home Remodeling restored my faith in contractors. From the estimate to completion the extreme professionalism and superior craftsmanship was unbelievable. We met with Dan for the estimate, he was on time very knowledgeable, not a typical salesman. He gave us ideas and his opinion while allowing us time to make decisions without any pressure. Once we decided to hire American Home Remodeling, Dan kept in touch and on top of scheduling to let us know anything we needed to know about the process. The crew that came to do the works craftsmanship impressed even my un-impressible husband. They paid close attention to every detail and went out of the way to add little things to make my house look even better. At the end of their long work day they cleaned up and left my yard looking better then when they got there. I highly recommend American Home Remodeling for any project. After the nightmares I have dealt with on other projects it is nice to know that there is actually a company that is honest, shows up and goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy.

Everything went well and issues that needed to be resolved were. I did have an issue with the foreman but that was resolved also.

I cannot say enough about American Home Remodeling!! I am absolutely ecstatic with the results as well as the process. My salesmen George and Nick were great. They were courteous, understanding, and down to earth. They were impeccably professional and attentive at all times. Let's face it, most of us want work done, but are a bit apprehensive about the process, prices, and potential horror stories. If you are looking for quality, worry free, hassle free, reasonably priced home improvement...look no further. American Home Remodeling worked on a house of mine in early 2000s. I was undoubtedly impressed with their work back then, but I wanted to be a "smart" consumer and shop around for this project. I had a few minor projects done throughout the years and have found it difficult to find a contractor or company that I have been able to confidently work with. I've found that good work, good price, good attitude are a hard trio to come by, I am so thankful that I went with American and got all 3, by far. I needed a lot of work done within a very tight budget. I had several estimates done and I have to say that George's was close to if not better than some of the small handyman style contractors and substantially less than the "larger" home improvement companies. I called American last because honestly I knew that I wanted to go with them based on my previous experience and from the more recent reviews I read, I could tell that they were still doing well and working well over 15 years later. During my conversations with my parents I also found out that American Home actually worked on my childhood home back in the late 80s!!! Now that's a name you can trust!! I went with American because I'm a single mom and work very hard. I cannot afford to be scammed or taken advantage of. After meeting with Gerogre and then Nick I had absolutely no doubt that my over 100 year old home was in good hands. American exceeded my high expectations!!!! George truly worked hard to ensure that I was satisfied and planned out every detail of the project. It was clear that they sincerely want a happy customer and that they each uphold their own high standard of getting the job done right. There was an old downspout from that ran down the the side of the new opening to my deck that had to be removed. George said "I'll figure something out" when we talked about it, and I gave it no further thought. A few days later I came home and saw that they not not only replaced the downspout but they installed a brand new gutter and relocated the downspout. Little things like that are what can cause added cost and aggravation at the end of a project. But American took care of it without a phone call or a back and forth negotiation that no customer has time or patience for after a long day. Nick and George were attentive and hands-on, they stopped by the sight daily to see the progress and communicate with the crew. George kept me closely updated, and I cannot say that there was anything that I wondered about during the process. George reached out to me regularly, so there was never a time when I was uninformed or unaware of anything. The staff that they employ are manerable, clean, and conscientious at all times and they thoroughly cleaned the job sight. I know this is getting lengthy, but I would like to mention that some of the work was done during my 2nd grade daughter's Spring Break. I did not overhear any inappropriate conversations, or profanity from the crew members. This I'm sure means a lot to some prospective customers with young children. Like I said I cannot say enough about America Home Remodeling. They are just all around family oriented hard working people who do great work. I am so looking forward to the next project I will be able to contract with them. This time I will NOT be wasting my time shopping around. American Home Remodeling is our official family home improvement provider! :) I would highly recommend you give them a call, you cannot go wrong when you contract with them!

Polite, professional, quick, easiest deal ever. It was a pleasure from the first phone call to the yard cleanup after the roof was installed. They say what they mean and they mean what they say. Everything done as promised. Highly recommended!

This was a great experience from beginning to end. John did a great job with the estimate, was very responsive when we wanted to add in the banisters and screen door, and was all around great to work with. The crew that did the siding was great, highly skilled, and very nice guys. They did a great job cleaning up at the end of the job as well. The house looks great and is the talk of the neighborhood.

Dan Falato was great to deal with. They were very responsive to my needs. Once service was agreed upon they came sooner than planned and Scott completed the work within hours. These people care about service and truly want to do the right thing. Would highly recommend and will to all I meet.

They did excellent work, which is nice considering some of our neighbors weren't so lucky with the roofing companies they had hired. American Home Remodeling was prompt, cleaned up well and were easy to work with.

Chose this company because of all the great reviews on Angie's list... and so glad I did. John Fiore was very responsive and honest and not pushy but also was available when I needed him. This was the first year in my new home and really needed new siding. John and afterwards the contractors made the entire process easy and hassle free. Great workers, fast, clean, and paid such attention to detail. My house was looking beautiful and brand new in 3 days. I even had a small problem with my gutter replacement and John sent someone out in one day. Took half hour to fix. I will definitely use this company again. Great job and thank you so much for making this project painless and easy. No buyer's remorse here.

This is the company that once again surpassed my expectations. The management and crews were EXCELLENT! I had used John from American Home Remodeling in the past to install my complete roofing/siding. As they were in the past and now, John is very meticulous when it comes to the details. The crew led by Joe was just as attentive to the detail as John promised. When there was a concern that I had or question, John was right there with me every step of the way to make the project run smoothly. John promised it would be complete in 4 weeks with all my town inspections but we were ahead of schedule and got done in 3 WEEKS !! I even changed my mind on the color of granite and John was able to get me my credit and put the change order in with no hassle or extra fees. John's estimate was right on the money and just within my budget for the project. Now I knew this company was good from working with them in the past but I was still a little skeptical as some say I'm too fussy with detail in my 1940's year house but John did not let me down. I had to do my due dilligence and get two other quotes from two other top Angies List Companies but just the way John presents himself separates him from other contractors I met with. I always get the feeling that he is honest and I can TRUST him which to me means everything. SO LETS NOT WASTE YOUR TIME American Home pricing wise was right in the middle, not my cheapest estimate but not nearly my highest. You pay for what you get and I have to say I got more than what I paid for. The customer service was always pleasant. Joe the carpenter was a true professional. I will recommend AHR to all my friends and family and will use them again when I'm ready to complete my bathroom. Thank you to AHR once again for making my kitchen the dream kitchen I have always wanted. Job well done, keep up the great work !

I hired American Home Remodeling last year to do my Roof and Siding. The project went so well that I hired them again to completely renovate my Kitchen and my Bathroom. Once again i can not say enough good things about Dan Falato and his team. Dan kept in constant communication with me throughout the entire process. The team he had working at my house was top notch. Not only did they use quality materials but their attention to detail was over and above what i expected. I will not hesitate to refer them to all my family and friends. They truly are a breath of fresh air.

Dan was great to deal with. He was very friendly and professional. The crew who did the job were great and they really did a terrific job. Several of my neighbors came up to me afterwards to compliment me on how great the house looks but also to say they had been watching the crew as they worked and were very impressed with their attention to detail and knowledge of the proper way to install this type of siding. I am definitely going to use them again with future projects!
