Description of Work: I actually met with Vic one time in Dumont to check out our house for estimates. He seemed very professional and seemed like he would do a good job just from our conversation. He said he would have estimates the following week. I never heard from him. I called and texted him a few times and never heard a response. Extremely rude and unprofessional. A complete 180 since the first meeting we had.

Description of Work: They called and explained that the few odd repair jobs I needed completed wasn't something their company did - they worked on "major" repairs around the home. |I appreciated the follow up and information and they recommended a company to me that would complete those jobs.

Description of Work: I had a new roof replaced on my house which is over a hundred years old. Chris, the sales rep, did a great job in answering all my questions and making sure I was satisfied with the work. The crew was prompt and cleaned up well. So far everything is fine.

Description of Work: We had a few bids for new vinyl siding, windows, garage doors and lighting for our home which had not been updated since it was built nearly 40 years ago. All of the bids were comparable depending upon the materials used and the work to be done. Chris Fontana came to our home 5 minutes before schedule and maintained this punctuality throughout the course of the work which took approximately two weeks overall due to the blizzard which delayed the completion of the project. The American Home Remodeling team led by Rinaldo worked with such skill and efficiency even in the coldest temperatures and snow drifts! The quality of their work was simply perfect as they worked diligently and meticulously throughout each day. Chris left for a scheduled family vacation at the beginning of our job; however, it was seamless as Dan and Vic took over updating us on each day's work and continued to check on the progress and our ongoing satisfaction. If we had any concerns or questions, they were quickly addressed and taken care of. Chris immediately checked with us again upon his return to make sure that we were thoroughly satisfied and followed-up on some small items that were addressed immediately. The snow had finally melted and revealed some minor construction debris and Chris indicated (to our surprise) that his team would be back this week to complete the clean-up - which was not expected. There is no doubt that we intend to use American Home Remodeling on our next project - perhaps a remodeled bathroom!

Description of Work: Very pleasant company with good follow up. I ended up finding a different company that fit my needs more closely but this was my second choice.

Description of Work: The roofing quote was entirely too expensive for a moderate house. I got a quote from another roofer and their was a price difference of $7,000.

Description of Work: Although, I have not used this company yet I was very impressed with the professionalism of the rep that came to my house. In fact, he suggested that I get plans and have multiple contractors bid on the same plan and he was sure he would win. I really respected his honesty and advice and once my plans are done, I will probably contract with this firm.

Description of Work: C- Good point; prompt call back from E-mail posting. Not good point, unwillingness to schedule appointment unless both homeowners are present. Not an easy request in today's economy. Pity, I am ready to hire for a basement remodel; someone else's gain.

Description of Work: This is not a review about the work they did but the professionalism when they came to look at my house roof. Christopher spend much more time then I expected showing what they do, what is involved, different ways of getting the roof done and writing up the estimate. More importantly when he came to know that I am looking to replace the roof for sale of my house, he advised that I may be better off by fixing the roof rather than replacing it as he thinks the roof is in decent shape. They don't fix roofs but he can suggest someone who do. This is something unheard of - a contractor advising against going with their service for the benefit the customer. I am very impressed. He is an honest business man.

Description of Work: This contractor never ever responded to me - either by email or phone. Very unprofessional.

Description of Work: They repaved my driveway. I think they were very good. Dan Selato stood out for me, he was the contact person. They did clean up after they finished.

Description of Work: We worked with Chris and Anthony, and they were both professional, responsive and very pleasant to deal with. We had our front walkway (from driveway to stoop) ripped up and replaced with concrete and they were able to do away with a small step and just gently slope the walkway. We also had the stoop repaired, and slate top and stairs placed. We had an area that flooded and froze each winter, and they were able to place a PCP pipe and redirect the water, and that solved the problem! We had some crumbling concrete in the garage, and they patched that for free. We had a major landscaping job done a year ago, and they were very careful not to destroy things. They came and did the job within 2 weeks, and once they started, they worked until finished. We will definitely use this company again. Good value and good workmanship.

Description of Work: I had a small main bath completely gutted and my small kitchen also pretty much gutted. the bath cost just under $14,000( not inclding the plumbing which was done by a private plumber i have used for some years), and the kitchen just under $23000 ( also not including the plumbing or appliances). i purchased the house in move in condition a few years ago, and a couple years later found a leak in the main bath that would require some extensive take down for repair. I wanted to update the kitchen and bath anyway, so I decided to do them both at the same time. The bath was completely gutted except for the woodplanks on the floor, the original layout was kept for the stand alone shower and bath tub. I got a new jacuzzi tub, a new totally rebuilt shower, full tiling, I kept the toilet and sink as they were fairly new and I liked them. I also had a piece of a closet in an adjacent room cut to make a beautiful in-wall storage shelf. The window was also replaced. In the kitchen, all new wood cabinets from KitchenandBathsbyANthonyPagano.com, granite countertops with added counter space, new flooring, new absolutely beautiful bay window, removal of glass sliding door to open space between kitchen and family room. Overall the work started in April,and took more than six weeks (for a combination fo reasons), which was longer than I expected, however I am pleased with the outcome, and so are visitors, friends and family to my home. VIc Jr brought the foreman Philip to meet me before the job started so he could understand what my expectations were. There were really only two guys Josef and Luke working on my job most of the time. I came to trust them. They did a great job. I am very happy with the work. Afterwards, whenever I found anything that I had a question or concern about, I would call Vic Jr, and he would get it taken care of. All of the workers who came to do the work were top notch, the electricians, carpenters, roofers. I had researched AHR on Angie's list and on the BBB, and have seen their work in my neighborhood before I chose them. I got three estimates for the work, and honestly they were the highest, but after I had done my research, I was convinced that I was going to get a great job with them. I did. It was helpful that I had done the research, and had alot of dialogue and meetings with Vic Jr and the foreman and cabinet/countertop guys before anything was started and they were clear about my expectations and open to my calling when I had concerns.

Description of Work: About six years ago I had roof put on by American Home Remodeling. With all the rain we have been the main roof has a leak. I call them on 9/8/2011 ask if some one could come out and look at it. I was told by person that they will try to have some one out there and that she would have to put the file and let the boss look at it. That they would call back well it 9/9/11 and still no one show up and the roof is still not fixes. It would cost about 100.00 to 300.00 to fix the leak. I guess they don't take small jobs. There are other roofing company' s out there.
