Ultimate Tree Service

From the beginning I was impressed with Ultimate Tree Service. Setting up the appointment for the estimate was easy. Bernie showed up on time and offered a fair estimate. We set up a date for the work to be done and he showed up even a little early to start the job. I had a number of large trees removed from my property including two large apple trees that were right on top of the house that I was very nervous about having removed for fear there would be damage to the house. Bernie and his team did a great job - exceeding my expectations. They took each tree down with skill and precision. It was quite amazing to watch. I appreciate the fact that each tree removal was thought through and I did not feel like they were in a race to the next job like some contractors I have come across. I would definitely recommend Ultimate Tree Service. They showed up on time, removed all my trees, ground the stumps and removed all the branches and pieces leaving behind a smile on my face after a job well done.

Bernie, the owner, responded quickly to my voice mail message requesting a quote. He arrived at the appointed time. I had originally called because of several big tree limbs having partly fallen, to have them and several other low limbs removed. Bernie suggested full removal of two of the trees because they would not be viable/attractive given the damage they already sustained, and clean-up of overgrown hedges that were partly blocking the walkway on the side of our house. He provided a quote which I considered to be very reasonable given the identified work. Bernie and his crew arrived at the agreed time and performed the promised work professionally and in one visit, as promised. They removed all of the trees, limbs and brush from the property and left the site clean. Bernie even returned later in the day to remove from the property a fallen tree limb that had accidently slipped over the fence onto my neighbor's property as it was cut, since it could not initially be retrieved because of a locked fence and the neighbor not being available at that time. Overall, I was very happy with the quality and punctuality of the work done, and the clean-up. The price for the work was very reasonable. I would certainly use Ultimate Tree Service again and recommend it to others.

They did a really nice job. They were fast on the job and inexpensive. They cleaned up well after themselves.

Started a few weeks ago with Bernie coming out to give an estimate. Decided to go with his service not just because of price but because he was just a nice, polite and knowledgeable person, He goes the extra mile whether explaining the work he will do or actually doing the work. So the big days comes, him and his crew are very punctual, friendly and fast. Not only did he prune and remove trees, he was kind enough to cut wood we could use as firewood and stacked it for us. What he did to our yard was a work of art, makes the whole yard feel open again and not so cluttered. The best work and cleanup i have ever seen from any company at any price. Would not hesitate to call them again for any of our yard needs.

I placed a call to the office looking for an estimate, and received a callback the same afternoon. The owner came to my house that night and provided an estimate. He was booked for three weeks (which I took as a good sign) and we agreed on an approximate date for the work later in the month. I called him when my schedule was firmed up, and he gave me a date one week out. He said he would be there at 8:45 AM At 8:15 AM on the date scheduled, he and his crew of five guys arrived with four trucks and two trailers of equipment. They had everything they needed to do the job right. They wasted no time and got to work. About nine hours later the job was done, including some tricky work trimming trees around my power lines. Trees removed, trees trimmed, stumps ground. He even ground out some out some old stumps that I had that remained from some trees I had cut down myself several years ago. Based on my experience, I asked him to provide and estime for some work at my place of employment. He arrived the next day after he finished his job for the day, looked everything over and gave an estimate. We will be using him to remove some trees in a difficult professional setting. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.

Company removed a large tree stump, removed several little trees and another large tree. Did an excellent job.

Wanted much more money than other bids.

He came out to look at the tree I needed removed. When he was out, he said I should just remove the tree myself. When I asked him why, he responded that he couldn't do this for any less than $500. I misunderstood the deal print, I thought it was for the actual service not a credit towards the removal. We agreed that I get a refund.

The owner was extremely fast in coming to my home and evaluating the job and giving me an estimate with 24-36 hours of first contact. He was very professional and polite. Service had to be delayed to be scheduled later the same week and the delay was solely due to the weather - the owner arrived at the estimate already knowing the expected weather for the week and what days could and could not be worked. The night before the scheduled service he called to confirm that he would be coming to my home and that it would be in the afternoon. True to his word, he arrived around 4pm and the work was completed quickly and completely. He came with his crew, which was careful of my yard and took care not to disturb the flower beds or my lawn decorations. I will definitely use this service in the future as needed and have already recommended them to a couple of friends.

Apparently this is the fault of Angie's List Big Deal offer. Bernie of Ultimate Tree Service contacted me almost right away, asked for our telephone #, then called and said he was available to come quickly. When he told my husband it would cost $500, he was shocked and told him that we had hoped that it would fall into the range of the $200.00nof work that with the coupon cost us $99.00. Bernie then told my husband that there was an error in that offer and he had notified Angie's List but that he could not due that job for the coupon price. He offered a bit lower price, but we could not afford it and he said he would issue us a credit card refund. My husband said he was a very nice guy and a gentleman in his business dealing and he was more than prompt in coming so fast for the estimate. It was a shame for both of us as we wasted his time and ours all because your offer details were wrong. This did not get my first use of my new membership off to a good start and we hope not to get other offers with errors in them. But we give Bernie and gold star for his efforts. Kathy Calandrella

Wonderful! It was terrific. Everything went fine. He was very polite. There was a little bit of a delay because of the weather but that wasn't the fault of the provider. It was very good and he did a great job for us. We would definitely use them again if the need arises.

They were amazing. They came and did the work quickly, quietly and professionally. I am looking forward to using them again this spring on some more trees I need down.

Bernie was really excellent - from the estimate, where he was on time to-the-minute (appreciated since I had to drive a long distance to the property), to his being extremely pro-active in communicating with me when the original job date was snowed out, thru a reschedule of that, and then telling me the night before when exactly he would arrive and be finished - the communication was fantastic and unlike virtually all other such professionals I have dealt with. Then, when I saw the work - absolutely magnificent in terms of how clean the work was done, and how terrifically the yard was left - I couldnt even tell they had been there. Bernie and his team get absolutely the highest marks from me, a truly satisfied customer in Belmar NJ.

Finally, workers chipped up a large gnarled tree trunk and roots that were exposed from ground surface to about 1 3/4 feet below ground. The company did the work while I was away. When I returned the next day, all that was agreed to on the contract was accomplished just as the business owner said would be done. I am well pleased with the work he did and won't hesitate to use his service again.

After Hurricaine Sandy I had multiple trees damaged on my property. Some fell over and some were leaning to the point that a wind storm would knock them over. I called Ultimate Tree Service and the owner came to give me an estimate. Upon arrival he immediately gave me a copy of his insurance policy. This made me feel very comfortable as it showed he was a reputable firm. Due to the storm, he was very busy and couldn't give me a definate date to do the work. When they arrived to do the work the crew was professional, cleaned up afterwards and careful not to damage any property. They even ground down a stump and cut up a tree that had fallen the year before and he didn't charge me for the extra work. I am very pleased with the company and would use them again.

It went better than I could have imagined. I called on Monday and the owner came out on Tuesday to price the work. He set a date and kept that date. His crew arrived on time and were truly professional. Much of the work needed a bucket truck. They let us keep the wood because we have a wood fireplace. They cut all the keepable wood down to 18 inches and even helped us stack most of it. They cleaned everything up and worked all day to complete the job.

Bernie and his team were outstanding from the start of the estimate to cleanup! I can't even begin to explain how professional and careful the entire crew was throughout the project. I would recommend this company to anyone who's interested in a fair price complemented with great service lead by Bernie who stayed onsite the entire day. 5 stars!!

The service was awesome! I called for an estimate and my call was returned that evening by the owner himself. He came the next day to go over everything I wanted done and he provided me with a very fare price quote without any hidden cost. He was available for any questions I had too. He and his team arrived to my house when he said he would and did the work that was discussed in a timely manner. The owner was present for the project and even performed some of the work. There was no damage to my property and they cleaned up was like they were never there. I highly recommend Ultimate Tree service. I will use them again.

Bernie (the owner) and his staff were all very professional and even showed up early. The job was very tedious, but they worked diligently and carefully to avoid 2 houses and two new fences. Can't believe they finished everything and neatly cleaned--up the areas, all before 5pm! I would definitely use them again, and have no hesitancy in recommending them to others in the area. Excellent work!

The team worked very hard even under difficult conditions. The temperature was well into the 90's and humidity was hgh. They work diligently to finish the job. Bernie the owner stayed on site during the whole time, cutting and supervising the work.

Called Ultimate on Wednesday 6/12/13 at 1 pm. Jen took all my information and said Bernie (owner) would call me back. That afternoon Bernie called me while sitting in the front of my house (he was working near by). I wasn't home, so I called him back and he returned my call the next day and said he would come over. He came and gave me an estimate of $150 per stump (normally $200), since there were 2 houses. I told him I would check with my daughter and son-in-law and get back to him. Over the weekend my son-in-law called him to say ok to the job and Bernie told him he would come Wednesday or Thursday of the following week. He called back to say he could come Monday and that if we weren't home he would come by another time to pick up the money. Bernie and his crew came Monday and did a wonderful job and even took my hose to clean up the grinds from the sidewalk. He didn't charge me for the other little stump I had. He told me he uses a big machine that goes deep (not just the normal 6 inches) to grind the stumps and that it gets the whole stump and also the root system out. He explained that this way you can plant another tree there instead of just grass. He leaves the grinds as kind of a mulch so that the soil has time to develop and in the Fall the soil will be rich for planting. When the work was done, Bernie did not realize I was home, and because the work was completed so quickly because of his machine, I didn't even have time to run out and pay him! He ended up coming over on the weekend to pick up the money. Bernie is a very friendly, yet professional guy who understands the importance of good customer service. I would definitely use him again and would not hesitate to recommend him.

Bernie and his team are very professional. He came when he said he would, gave me a detailed estimate (that was fair and honest). I hired him and they came when they said they would, did all the work promised, cleaned up everything, and were wonderful to work with. I plan to hire him whenever I need tree services and recommend him to everyone. I only wish they did every other kind of work - they are the best!
