They had to remove tile and they brought tarps and sealed off adjoining rooms as well as return vents. They were very neat which is always such a welcome quality when you can find it!!! They installed the floor quickly and beautifully! They pay attention to detail and are true craftsman! I love my new floors!! I would recommend them to everyone!

David was extremely professional and always on time. What he promised he delivered. I wasn't sure which way I should do engineered floor: either glue or float. I got a professional advice from him and decided to go with gluing. I absolutely love the feel and look of my new flooring. It is amendoim brasilian engineered hardwood floor 5 1/4 inch wide. It looks amazing. The preparation was thorough and quick and the whole job was done in two days (820 square feet). He even helped me to order the flooring and to bring 16 feet moldings to the house in his van. What I liked is that he did all the preparations (meaning sawing) outside of the house so it was not very dusty at the end. I didn't live in the townhouse yet so I just left him a key.

very smoothly. Dave helped us find the hardwood at the best price and also helped us find a carpet installer, which he didn't have to do. He also educated us on different types of hardwoods. It was himself and his assistant at our house for about a week. All the work went smoothly and in a timely manner. He did the entire job in the time frame he quoted us. They didn't damage a thing. I think this is the first time I've had workers at the house where everything went smoothly. Not a nick on any wall, floor, ceiling or furniture.

Extremely happy with their work! Professional, courteous, neat and very competitively priced. We shopped around and had estimates from a few other companies prior to choosing Galaxie. We choose Galaxie for a few reasons, they came to see the job and listened to what we had to say and what we were looking for. They offered some suggestions and gave us some great ideas without trying to up sell the job like a lot of the other guys do. The owner, Dave is very hands on and was present throughout the project. His crew were all very nice and very professional. Each day they showed up on time and cleaned up prior to leaving for the night. I honesty couldn't be happier with their work and I will definitely use them again for my next project.

Dave did the work in my parents home when they moved to the area from north Jersey. he came in measured the job, showed samples suggesting what he thought would look good and best fit their needs without going over their budget. The install of the wood floors and the Cortec (used in the bathrooms and kitchen) went without issue. The base moulding he used gave such a rich look to the rooms. There was electric heat which was removed for gas heat install, Dave had to cut the moulding to go around the old existing outlets for the heat, what a beautiful look he created so they didn't have to pay more for the removal of the outlets! The timing of the project went well. He and his team worked late days to get the project completed for my parents move in date.

Dave was recommended to me by another contractor and it was one of the best recommendations I've ever received. We were looking to install hardwood flooring in our home which was primarily vinyl over a wood subfloor. There was also a section of wood floor in the living room that was worn and that we decided to remove and replace with new flooring. Dave provided a free estimate and talked about various options and floor types. He was very friendly and thorough and his pricing was fair for the work desired. He also gave some good suggestions for places to visit for the purchase of our new flooring. Once we selected and purchased our flooring we called Dave to set up an install date. He and his team arrived promptly on that date and installed our new Mohawk Armormax Maple floors in several rooms and closets on our main floor. They removed the base trim on the walls and reinstalled same, if useable, otherwise new trim was cut and installed. Issues with the subfloor in one area were easily addressed. All the flooring was laid out from the boxes and pieces selected and cut to size for a pleasant design and layout. Doors were cut as needed for new floor height and reinstalled. Transitions between rooms with tile were handled seamlessly as well. I was told that Dave was a real craftsmen and it turned out to be true. His team was excellent and everything was spotless upon completion of the two+ day job. I've been planning on setting up an appointment with him to do some additional work but have not yet found the time to do so. But as soon as I can I will. Not only does Dave do outstanding work but he is truly a nice guy. I highly recommend him and his company Galaxie Flooring & Improvements.
