I signed with Hudson Place Realty after a very good sales pitch from them. They promised me how selling my house was the most important thing to them, honesty was their first policy, if at any point I was unhappy with them, they would void the contract immediately, etc. After spending much time forming a relationship with a realtor there who I felt I trusted with my home, they gave me a realtor of their own choosing, and I felt immediately like they had done a typical bait and switch. They stated the one I chose was 'too busy' and since they had a realtor in the office with no clients, no sales and nothing to do, that he would be my realtor. They did absolutely nothing to try and sell my home, except tell me to continually lower my price, over and over. When I saw what other successful realtors in town were doing, I suggested that they do these things also, only to get many excuses as to why they could not do it, they would look into it, they're trying, and then NOTHING. They not only gave me excuse after excuse as to why my home was not selling, but actually tried to blame it on me! When I told them I was very upset and unhappy with them and wanted to void the contract, as they had originally promised I could, they completely stonewalled me. I had to speak to the broker/owner, John Sisti, who promised to 'make things right', and then he, himself, cancelled our appointment to meet and refused to speak with us. Bottom line is they had our listing for 6 months, treated us very poorly, were completely unprofessional and incompetent, and did not sell my home. Please beware if you are considering signing with these people. They are very good sales people when it comes to making you believe everything they promise you and getting you to sign with them. PLEASE get EVERYTHING in writing! And I mean EVERYTHING! If they promise you can cancel the contract at any time - GET IT IN WRITING! If you chose a realtor you'd like to work with - GET IT IN WRITING! If you expect something as simple as a For Sale sign outside of your house - don't take ANYTHING for granted with these people - GET IT IN WRITING!! Better yet, for your own wellbeing . . . use someone else. ,
Description of Work: Listed my house for sale. The agent promised to be available to show the house, but instead told us she had just moved down the shore and would be letting someone else show the apartment. This was a person we did not know and ended up being totally lincompetent. Every time we had an open house, he brought a large lunch, talked on the phone, and didn't answer the door. The service we got was non-existent.

We loved our experience with Hudson Place, and in particular our agent - Gerard Stier. Finding Gerard was a very lucky coincidence for my wife and I. We had just begun our search in person after a few months of trawling listings online, and had made appointments with a few brokers for individual listings we had seen online. The first few we met with ranged from moderately disinterested in us to sleazy. Finally, on our last scheduled visit for the day, we met with Gerard and saw the property that had led us to him. He was very knowledgeable, both about that specific property and about the market in Hoboken. After the showing he even went so far as to walk us back to our car a few blocks away. My wife and I immediately felt we had found somebody we could trust. We decided to work with Gerard for the rest of our search. In the weeks that followed Gerard met with us every weekend, updating us with new listings before they were available on public websites and working with our schedule to show us everything we found interesting. We were outbid 2 or 3 times along the way on various properties, but every time Gerard was extremely helpful in explaining the usual process when there are competing bids, and when the other bidder was prepared to pay more than we were Gerard quickly identified new listings we would also like and arranged to show them to us. In the end the property we bought was more what we wanted than any of the previous ones, and it was also less expensive. In addition to being knowledgeable, trustworthy and willing to work with our schedules, Gerard was also very friendly and easy to work with. Riding around all day with a stranger can obviously be awkward sometimes, but Gerard was quite personable and filled us in with lots of useful and interesting details about life in Hoboken. Towards the end of our process we even met him and some of his friends for drinks and exchanged phone numbers with them. We truly feel like we have already made some friends in Hoboken, and there is no question in our mind that we will engage Gerard again when the time comes to sell our condo. I would strongly recommend Gerard to anyone looking at buying in Hoboken - he knows the market well and is as trustworthy and helpful as they come.
Description of Work: Gerard Stier, our agent at Hudson Place, showed us a variety of condos in Hoboken, NJ and helped us through the process when we identified something we wanted.
