S R Roofing

A couple of years back I had needed a repair to my home's roof in a couple of spots where tree limbs had broken small holes in it. Stan fixed those for me at a very fair price and very quickly. I remembered him when it came time to reroof my garage. Chris came by the house within a couple of days of my call to see the job. I wasn't home at the time. He mailed a written estimate very quickly. The price was better than the other two roofers that I gotten estimates from. I signed the contract and mailed the deposit to him. He had told me that he would be able to do the job in about a month, but couldn't commit to specific date because of ongoing jobs. As it turned out, he was able to do the job in the week that he estimated that he would. Chris showed up with his crew of four men at the appointed time and they got right to work. Chris stayed at the job site the entire time which I appreciated. The work was done efficiently and quickly, and they left the area clean. Chris answered my questions matter-of-factly and took care of business. I am very pleased with the job they did. No complaints. I will keep S R Roofing in mind for when I plan to replace my home's roof in a couple years.

She said they will come to look around and give me an estimate of the new roofing, didn't even want to talk to us about the problem we have. Wow, no, thanks. No business from us for sure.

Mr. Tocci and S R Roofing were excellent. I had a leaking skylight and structural damage to the dormer roof. Despite having a long list of jobs, he was able to accelerate my job and fit me in on a Saturday morning, despite high heat and humidity. The job entailed some structural repairs to the joists, as well as insulation and the crew did everything, including the tear-off and re-roof in an excellent manner, without any damage or disturbance to the house, lawn or shrubbery. The crew was very polite and courteous and Mr. Tocci was very accomodating for several additional roofing repair requests. They are/he is really good. That is what the personnel said when I called to set-up job and they are right. You can trust S R Roofing to do the job right and be fair.

These guys worked in extreme heat---did a great job and cleaned up every day after they finished. The owner in on the job and works at your house up on the roof every day. They were pleasant, answered all my questions and my house is now protected for the storm season and upcoming winter. they were highly recommended by the gutter company I used.

SR consumer catalog has tag line and quot;RIP-OFF SPECIALISTSand quot; . This is an accurate description of their service and business philosophy. Stan was very arrogant, telling me how much work my house needed, and trying to justify his $5000.+ price for a 600 sq ft roof repair. Based on his verbal knowledge of the roofing trade, I retained his firm to do the job despite his abrasive personality. Chris, his son, did the job. During the course of doing the job, he dropped one of his heavy tools into the open roof where they had removed rotten plywood above our master bedroom. The tool fell onto our ceiling drywall and punched a hole into our master bedroom ceiling. Chris never brought this to our attention or apologized, and we had to confront Stan about the damage. Stan denied that they had done the damage, but grudgingly repaired the interior sheet rock. I needed re-roof on shingle side of home in 2013, and when roofers came to estimate, each and every firm informed me that the exposed nails that Sand R left in the metal edge of the rolled roof had loosed and popped out in places [allowing for water penetration] , and that this was not a proper installation. A proper installation would have been to cover the nails/holes to prevent water penetration with tar and a protective strip of the roll roof material. As a consumer, I didn't know what was the proper method SR should have used to seal the nail heads to prevent water penetration and damage. Now the eaves (overhang) of my roof below the rolled roof have rotted out with holes where water has collected from water seeping down through the nails nailed through the rolled roof and plywood above. This was a shoddy way to finish the edging, and hence caused considerable ongoing damage to my home. Despite this statement in SR brochure, and quot;IMPROPER NAILING AND POOR FLASHING PRACTICES ARE THE LEADING CAUSE OF ROOF FAILUREand quot;, that is exactly the type of sub-standard work SR performed on my home. When I called SR to discuss the problem, Stans wife who handles customer calls was beligerant and asked why it took so long for me to call them regarding teh problem. I told her that I was not a roofing expert, and now that I am getting estimates for new roofing on other sie of my home, the issue of the improper nail edging came to light. To incentivize SR to fix the problem, I suggested they should fix the problem, and then I would consider their firm's quote for the new roof work. She informed me that she would have Chris come by to look at the problem and quote the new work. Chris inspected the rolled roof SR installed on my home and said there was nothing wrong with the job....when I pressed him about the water damage from the leaking nail heads, and why they weren't covered or sealed properly with tar and cover strip of roll roofing, he said they don't carry tar on their trucks , and that it was not needed. This atttude seems contrary to the statement in the 2013 SR brochure and quot;IMPROPER NAILING AND POOR FLASHING PRACTICES ARE THE LEADING CAUSE OF ROOF FAILUREand quot;. Essentially they denied any wrong doing, and would not repair the rolled roof metal edge flashing to professional and quot;correct profesisonal standardsand quot; of building trade that would ensure no leaks. But they were more than willing to leave a quote for the new roof work in my mailbox! Stay away from these guys....they have little regard for and quot;doing the job rightand quot; and have a condescending attitude towards homeowners.

The job went very well. They were in and out in a half a day. They cleaned up and left things in order. The roof looks great. I have used them before and Stan was the only one who solved a problem that no one else could. A+

The estimate was too expensive and emphasized that their price included hand nailing instead of work done with pneumatic nail guns, which would not last. It contained useful information regarding addresses where they had installed new roofs for us to go check the colors in case we decided to hire them.

Chris arrived the day he said he would and he and his skilled crew worked hard in quite cold weather. They were clean and quick. They cleaned up at the end of each day and, aside from the new roof, one wouldn't know they'd been here. Absolutely no debris or nails were left behind. Very professional job.

I have found SR Roofing to be honest, professional, fair and prompt in all my dealings with them to-date. I would recommend them highly.

An informational quickie: Called to get an estimate to fix a pair of leaks above our master bedroom--NOT a roof installed by Stan. Learned from his wife that he's no longer repairing other people's work. Mrs. R. was very nice and apologetic and was very surprised that our less-than-10-year-old roof would leak at all, but she couldn't recommend someone else--she wasn't sure who's doing those sorts of repairs these days. Could be the new normal post-Sandy, so keep that in mind for repairs. (SR would be one of my first calls for new work, though.)

They were great. They were amazing. They were very hard working. They worked in ninety degree weather with no complaints or ever stopping. They were professional, reliable, and stayed until the work was complete. They came on time and the price was better than other estimates I received.

SR was there on time, prepared and organized. They were clean and efficient. They did exactly what they said they would do and there was not one nail on the ground when they were done. They were reasonably priced, efficent and they cleaned up after themselves. I can't say enough good things about them. Anyone who needs a roof and DOESN'T hire SR foolish. No one will ever do a roof in any home I own other than SR roofing. It should be noted that many years ago I hired a company to replace a roof I had that was not leaking but was due for replacement. When the company I hired was done, I had 12 leaks..that's right TWELVE and they could not repair it. They simply left town and changed their names and I had to sue them to get money to have it done properly. I then hired SR who told me that three roofs was not to code, stripped all three off, layed down a new roof and I have not had a leak since. That's why I will ONLY use SR roofing.

They did their job quickly and professionally. They cleaned up after themselves as well as took the old roof away. They worked in sections of my roof at a time. I am very please with the results.

They are highly professional and cleaned up every day. I will use them again in the future.

Sand R was reliable, efficient, within our budget and did a tremendous job. There was a delay between quote and work being done due to a very rainy season (which backed them up) plus ordering our new skylights. We had leaks from our skylights since we moved into our new house. This was due to a number of problems, the shingles were not the right type for a low pitched roof, plus the skylights themselves were not designed for low pitched roofs. They explained that we needed a rolled roof since the angle was so low and water could collect if normal shingles were used. They were only one of two who explained this, and others were just willing to charge more and put back the same old shingles (which would have caused the same old problem). The work was completed within 2 days and it was a large roof area. They cleaned up all debris the first night and also before they left the site when the job was done. No extra charges (in fact the skylight installation turned out to be slightly less - how often do you get an invoice for LESS??!!) and we could not be happier. No leaks, the roof is done properly and will last for year. When the main roof has to be redone in a few years, I will be sure to call them back. Job well done!

This is a family business; they were prompt, professional and the price was competitive. They told me that because of the way the prior repair was done, I might experience more water leakage. But it seems, after several months, that everything is just fine. This season I want to install a whole-house fan, and called them recently. Alas, they don't do this kind of work. I will be pleased to call them in the future when i need roofing work done. BTW I was remiss in not reporting this work sooner, but since my rating of SR is Excellent, I'm glad to make these comments. -A Happy Customer.

I had a leak in my roof and water was coming into the dining room. Someone had fixed it a year ago but that did not last it only got worse. After multiple estimates and suggestions of what needed to be done to fix the problem I decided on SR Roofing. They seemed to really know what needed to be done and honest and after my experience I was skeptical but I had a good feeling about them. And boy was I right!!!! They did a great job and with all the heavy rains my house remains dry. They answered all my phone calls and were professional, polite, and prompt. They did an excellent job and I would highly recommend them.

Owner came and gave estimate and approximate starting time. He gave estimate in September and said he would start end of October and he was pretty close to that time frame. He did not do the work--I believe it was his son. Job took about 3 days in good weather. They were very neat and very careful not to damage any shrubbery around the house--which was a concern of mine. They used a truck to cart all roof materials away--just as was explained when the estimate was given. I am very satisfied wtih their work especially with the winter we have had. There was a leak in the old roof which they fixed and we had no problems this winter at all.

They gave a competitive quote but the billed for less! The people that I dealt with were friendly and professional. The roof looks nice. We just had a major storm - no leaks.

I am very pleased. When I called the company and gave my address, he immediately knew what type of house I had and had a sense of what the problem was. He came out within a day or two to diagnose the problem and did not "oversell" as some of the other roofers we contacted did.

Called one evening, received a call back next morning and the work was completed in the next 3 hours. I wanted to be home when the work was done but that didn't happen. But the work was done quickly, it saved me problems with the rain that evening

It took two days to do the work. The work was excellent, and they found some underlying damage to the wood and had to repair it. They were spotless.

This company does fantastic work. They are clean, efficient, and very knowledgeable. I had another company quote me $5000 to repair a small portion of my roof. S and R charged me $9600 to do all 90 ft. They even only charged 2.50 per sq ft for wood replacement which came out to like $20. This experience was great!
