Have no idea--could not get an estimate despite numerous requests. Sent an email requesting an estimate on 8/10. Then texted for follow up-said he would look at job on 8/16. Sent texts to confirm that date and set time-none replied to. Then texts us on 8/17 asking if he can come that day--reply saying the afternoon is good. Sit around the rest of the day waiting--never shows up or calls, etc. 2 days later texts saying lets talk on Thursday morning. Text him Thursday morning offering time to meet on Thursday. No reply again. Finally shows up on 8/23, 2 weeks after first contact. Does estimate on 8/23--text on 8/28, 9/8 asking when might estimate be ready. No reply. Since no reply by 9/14 send a text saying it has been 3 weeks with no response--maybe you are crazy busy--if you cannot estimate job, let me know and we will move one. One week later, no reply. So I give him the out to say he is busy and perhaps we should find someone else and still doesn't have the decency to reply.

The work was impeccable. The attention to detail was impressive. Mike and his team stayed right on schedule. They were polite and punctual. The final product was beautiful. They took my idea and turned it into a reality.

From the start to the finish, M & M was there for me. You can see how much they love their work by looking at the quality of their work (especially their trim work). I knew they had a great reputation and have seen their work so it was a no brainier when I decided to have them bid for the job. They were competively priced and I was pleased that they were able to do the job. What I learned through the process is how important it is to have a builder you can trust. He caught a few mistakes that were on the my blueprints (many blueprints have things that work on paper but not in practicality) preventing more than one expensive change order. He made suggestions and gave me prices up front. Every contractor he brought to my house was just as professional. They were on time and always kept their appointments. They actually gave me a gift of some fire wood for the new fireplace. I was extremely happy with their work and their professional opinions along the way. When I take on another project, I will definitely use them again.

We wish that we used Mike, we regretted using another contractors. M&M Carpentry didn't have to outsource each and every aspect of the job since they are already master carpenters. They are a quality company with an excellent reputation. They also provided a more comprehensive estimate then other companies, with a complete breakdown of each of the items, so you know exactly what you paying for. M&M also provided realistic time frames for completion of the project, versus other companies which just wanted to tell you what you wanted to hear to get the work. My advice to everyone is to NEVER use a construction management company, always use a general contractor who does a lot of the work themselves, they have more of a vested interest to get the work done correctly and not outsource every item to the lowest bidder. I would highly recommend M&M Carpentry to anyone looking for a high end carpentry and general contractor for either new construction or big renovations (yes they also do small stuff too). This is the first review I've ever written for a company which I didn't not end up using. If it could do it all again I would have chosen M&M Carpentry from the start. Highly Recommend.

Contractor failed to show up for estimate after first call and after a second call during which a worker said the message would be passes to the owner, no response was had. If they were not interested in the work they could have just said so.

Mike and Chris are extremely nice and responsive. While we are still waiting for an estimate, they have been very nice to us and have answered all of our questions to our satisfaction.

They still do fine work for us.

Mand M worked with us from the planning stage to final completion of construction. They were always totally professional and took care to ensure our satisfaction with the work. Work areas were screened off to minimize dust and floors were covered for protection. The workers were courteous and kept all areas as clean as possible. All work performed was of the highest quality. Mand M gave us numerous recommendations for suppliers/ installers for bathroom fixtures, cabinet, granite top, tile, glass shower enclosure, which resulted in a smooth and seamless process. Several suppliers also offered significant discounts. Mike, the owner, and Chris, the project manager were a pleasure to work with and we are thrilled with the final results, We definitely recommend this top notch company.

I would never look for another contractor! The professionalisim and overall client service could never be beat. Mike, Chris and the crew make you feel as if you are the only client in the world. The workman are always prompt, never dissapear and never rush to cut corners. As a carpenter by trade, Mike pays the utmost attention to detail and gives you the highest quality result. Mike takes care of his guys as well, which makes you feel good about doing business with him.

Mike, Chris and team did a great job for us from beginning to end. They tackled the challenges of the job including installation of a steel cross beam so we could open up the room and working with our designer(which wasn't always easy). Their subcontractors for electricians(LIberty), plumbers(crossroads) and stairs(glen rock) worked out great for us.

Mand M does excellent carpentry work. I had problems with the plumber on this project (sub-contractor) but Mand M no longer uses them due to the quality of their work (Crossroads Plumbing - AVOID). I also had minor issues with tile guy, but those problems were not as serious and were fixed. Mand M will not be the cheapest quote, but they will not nickel and dime you on the job for minor things which a lot of contractors do. So don't be fooled by a lower price which could be more in the long run. Project 1 - adding beams to reinforce floors. $10000. An engineer drew up plans for what we would need to have a second floor bath in our 1870's home. It entailed incorporating a power beam on the first floor, along with other 2x4 structures and also adding beams in the basement to support the extra load. Mike and crew demo'd portion of foyer, added beams and support and cleaned up in spectacular fashion, especially considering we were worried about lead paint! The beams all went in perfectly and any walls were sheetrocked and spackled perfectly as well. Some areas were left open to accommodate future work on second floor bath. They were attentive to my needs and added insulation to certain areas and left the open areas safely boarded up. The work in basement went just as well and they even built me a new set of basement stairs , far superior to my old one. Their expertise in carpentry and attention to detail was evident in this project and I have no doubt that what they did will help the house last another 130 years. Chris who runs the office is an excellent communicator who always keep the ball rolling and lets you know where everything stands. We have found this is SUPER important and something that can be a major problem with contractors so we really appreciated his effort. Project 1 - A+ Project 2 - first floor bath. $20000. They pushed out a wall about a foot (doesn't sound like much, but what a difference in size!), incorporated a hall closet into a shower to make it nice and big, created a new closet and it all came out as pictured. They had to build a new wall due to the pushout and lack of foundation, and this added (a bit pricey) $10k to the project. The finishing touches again by Mike and crew are excellent. The bathroom 'looks' great and we get many compliments on it. The tile guy mislaid the pattern on the tile. It should have been obvious, but I pointed it out to Mike who then had the guy fix it. The plumber for the radiant heat and other plumbing was the worst ( CrossRoads Plumbing - avoid if you ever see them!). They no longer use them so I am comfortable recommending Mand M despite this problem that we had. Mand M took care of all the problems we had with plumber and that was sincerely appreciated by us. Project 2 - A+ for Mand M, F - for Crossroads. Bottom line, I would highly recommend Mand M. Despite problem with radiant, Mand M put in a backup electric wall heater for no charge. You have to love a company that admits a mistake, and makes it right for the consumer. Mand M did that. if you want a great carpenter/contractor, you cannot go wrong with Mike, Chris and Mand M. They do good work and stand by it.

We had had a bad experience with the people who were renovating our kitchen, and they left it half unfinished. M and M Carpentry had been hired to do the bathroon - floor, tiles,painting, installing new fixtures. When they saw how the kitchen had been left, they offered to customize the job for us.We were very pleased with the job they did.
