Riverside Restoration is a small, family-owned home improvement company incorporated in 2007 by Kevin & Lynette Byrne of Hillsborough, N.J.
Kevin Byrne is an extremely well - experienced carpenter who has been involved in performing all kinds of residential, commercial, and public works construction for his entire adult life (nearly 40 years.) Lynette Byrne is the Front End Manager of the ShopRite in Hillsborough, N.J., where she has been employed for over 28 years. Her background and experience in Customer Service are second to none.
Following decades of performing historic restoration, home improvement, and project management for other concerns, we came to believe that many customers of traditional contractors were feeling that they were ‘just a number’ to their service providers, and that their desires were often ignored in achieving their project goals.
Despite having seen many start-up companies like ours struggle and fail, we decided that there truly is a market for a contracting company that will perform excellent work at reasonable and affordable prices, and always put its customers’ needs and wishes first.
Many contractors we have known believed that the key to success for them was to greatly expand their companies’ operations and thus profit from sheer volume. The trouble with that theory is that they lose any personal connection with their customers, and they also lose control over the quality of their work.
We did not start this company to become wealthy. We hope only to make a decent living at doing what we love, and to grow a customer base that keeps us busy year-round.
We believe that the key to our success is that we have stayed small. Our customers know us, and we know them. This enables us to understand their long-term goals for their homes and businesses, and to help them plan their improvement projects accordingly.
While other contractors quote impossibly low labor prices and then attempt to make up their profit on materials, we do not. Our customers pay for their major purchases directly, and reimburse us for ‘incidental’ materials we purchase for their projects only at the purchase price, when we provide them with the receipts. Our labor prices are more than fair. We keep them that way.
The fact that we have survived in this faltering economic climate with only “word-of-mouth” advertising speaks volumes about the level of service we provide, and the quality of results that we achieve. Several of our customers have even awarded us a “bonus” payment to thank us for our creativity and attention to detail, at the conclusion of a project. Almost all of our customers have been with us for years.
We perform our projects one at a time. While we are building your project, yours is the only project we are thinking about. This enables us to frequently come up with creative and innovative improvements to the plan, and efficient, practical solutions to the little problem issues that every building has.
