fixed it. Tony Z has been doing jobs for us for about 20 years now. Comes over promptly, gets the job done in a timely manner, and you know it's safe. (Tony was Fire Chief of the town's fire department and is still a volunteer with them, giving them advice on electrical issues.) Highly recommended.

We had some electrical safety items come up on our home inspection report in the selling process. Tony evaluated all items on the report and determined the best way to go about repairing. We ended up needing our entire circuit breaker panel replaced, but before going that route Tony made every effort to find standard replacement parts that would fit in our existing panel. He repaired and/or replaced all items on the report in under 8 hours and even checked and replaced expired smoke detectors that we would have needed for our Certificate of Occupancy down the line even thought that was out of scope. Tony is extremely knowledgeable and I would trust him with any repairs or projects in the future.

We have called on Tony for electrical repairs for many years. For example, some months before he added an outdoor light on the back stairs to illuminate the stairs better. This time, he repaired an bathroom fan and a florescent light switch in the basement. Both proved simple. He is generally clear about his availability and in assessing the time and cost of a project. He discovered that an exhaust fan in the attic for cooling the attic about the 2nd floor was not operating and replaced a motor that had warn out. We don't usually obtain estimates, but his prices seem reasonable. See below.

A perfect job on all aspects. The somewhat higher cost is more than made up by the quality of the work and the appropriateness of the specific job. I never had to call him back for a re-do. Tony's fees ranged from free to over $3000 depending on the magnitude of the project, and we always felt we got our money's worth. He is one of the prize assets of Highland Park.

Tony quickly evaluated that the existing fan & overhead light fixture in the kitchen could not be repaired and needed to be replaced. He removed the broken fixture and secured the live electrical wires until the new fixture could be installed. The ceiling was stained and dirty with some cracks and he arranged for a painter to come do minor plastering and repaint the ceiling. At my request, he selected, purchased and installed the new fixture. Tony completed the actual hands on electrical work within about an hour & the entire job (electrical work, painting, shopping/purchase and installation of new fixture) was completed in less than 2 days. I recommend Tony and his work highly--he is efficient, professional, responsive, friendly and expert.

Tony evaluates each project. Questions your needs before beginning each project. Maintains contact throughout each project. Over a four month period all work was completed.Tony gets my first call. If it is not his skill set, he gives you other names and options. His finished product is high quality. Follow up is part of his ethic.

Tony was able to isolate the intermittent power problem and resolved it quickly. He addressed the repair of outdoor outlets and fixtures in a timely fashion. He replaced one of our existing electrical subpanels with a better quality electrical panel. All work was done promptly. We were very satisfied with the work and would hire Tony again the next time we have an electrical issue

Tony was able to locate the reset button within 5 minutes of being in my home. Then he decided to check my fire/CO alarms and fire extinguishers replacing what he felt needed replacement and watching me use the fire extinguisher (I was a manager and had gotten this training in the past). The next day he brings over an invoice for $510. No itemization regarding cost for individual items or hourly rate. I called to protest so he said "pay what you think is fair". I did not want to pay but decided that he taught me a very important lesson. Before you let a contractor do any work, get all the costs itemized as much as possible before work starts. I learned this lesson the hard way.

Punctual, clean, and professional service. Tony is courteous to his costumers and cares about his work.

Tony’s work is excellent. The inspector who reviewed his work (Tony was not there) commented that he has never had an issue with Tony’s wiring. He is meticulous and any job done by him is done right. He has corrected substandard work in our home (yes, we have not had good electrical experiences), as well as old wiring in an old home, and put in new circuits, sockets and light fixtures. The behind the wall wiring is done right, and the lighting that one sees, beautifully done. He is not the cheapest but value is excellent and we sleep better at night.

Very well. Tony has been our electrician for years. We value his thoroughness and dedication to safety. Several years before, he also handled the wiring and fixtures for our kitchen remodeling and extension.

The work was all very professional. Tony answered my calls promptly, came to my house in a timely way, and was polite and professional throughout the entire transaction. He fixed all of my electrical problems, and I would definitely hire him again.

Tony accessed the situation and have my business lit up properly again! He is always neat and clean when working and leaves the job better than when he started! Tony always takes the time to explain to me exactly what he is doing and why. Many times he has fixed issues that happen when you have a very old building as I do. He never takes shortcuts in his work- it is always safety first.

I have known Tony for 20+ years. He has performed numerous work for me over that time. He is very knowledgeable in his trade and his work has always been very thorough. He works on all jobs as he would if it was his own property. Attention to detail and safety is always paramount. I would be hard pressed to find another electrician to perform the same quality work within the same pricing structure.

Very well considering he spent a good portion of the day here. He was very polite and had a very good bedside manner. Upon completion he did write out a detailed work order with his findings and also recommendations. It seems the previous owners used a subpar electrician. Live and Learn.

He was wonderful, had innovative suggestions I wouldn't have thought of, answered the phone when I called, always showed up on time..and was good company to boot...I couldn't have been more pleased...he's definitely my go to electrician from now on.

Tony is always excellent and professional, he arrives on time, he makes good recommendations, and he cleans up when he is done. He may be a bit more expensive than other electricians, but his professional work is worth every penny!

Excellent! If there is one word to describe this contractor it is 'professionalism'. Tony takes pride in doing things right the first time and to make sure everything adheres to code. My house wiring is aluminum and all connections needed to be specially handled. My circuit breaker panels were installed in a timely manner with minimum downtime for home power. I had 6 outdoor post lights installed which required new outdoor connections and concrete bases. Everything went very well. I have more electrical work to be done and I will use Tony Szemereta for all of it.

Tony has done various electrical work for us for many years with perfection and professionalism. He replaced the knob and tube wiring in the crawl space attic as well as laying down a plywood floor making it much safer and easier for attic storage. He's also provided new outlets were there weren't any and installed three new ceiling porch light fixtures in a straight line covering 30 feet making an impressive curb appeal. The bathroom remodel required climbing over a central ac handler many times while in the crawl space attic-not an easy task. When the inspector came to inspect the electric for the central ac installation he said "Now this is one of the few jobs done exactly right". We're completely satisfied with all of his work.

Tony was an absolute pleasure to work with and is an incredibly knowledgeable Electrician. After initially finding Tony on Angie's List, it turns out he had actually serviced a majority of the homes in my area. He came in and added a ground (third prong) to most of the outlets in my house. Also, after finding one faulty outlet with a wire totally burned out and on the verge of starting a major fire, he went around and made sure every single one was in good condition. He also added new ceiling lights to several rooms in my house. I highly recommend Tony and I will be using him again for all my electrician needs!
