Terrific, creative, distinct and yet very fitting to the neighborhood. All of these men are great at their work, all are punctual and truly excellent at what they create. A pleasure from start to finish. And Anthony extended us the courtesy of paying a little later, due to the unexpected additional expense. Only two glitches: (1) we had to spend more than anticipated for root removal and dirt, and (2) the cost of landscaping needed to be adjusted because we scaled back the original plan, and we haven't received the adjusted bill on that yet. Update 2017 (and I am ashamed this has been lingering in my outbox): adjusted bill agreed and paid. We had one setback. The back lawn was seeded instead of sod. Heavy rains washed most of the dirt and seed to our neighbors' yard. We agreed to spend more money for additional topsoil and seeding. The team was scheduled for Monday. They came Sunday because it was supposed to rain heavily Monday. Why would you come to correct damage from heavy rain when you expect heavy rain the following day? Anthony has spoken with my husband and is going to make it right.
Description of Work: We needed to start from zero, having removed damaged trees and overgrown landscaping from the 1965 property we bought. We met with a number of landscape firms, and Anthony impressed us the most with his ideas. He listened to what we wanted, and made terrific additions or changes to those ideas. He had suggestions about materials and we visited his site to look at different materials, as well as some plants he's cultivating. Once we got the plan approved (which delayed the anticipated Spring start to early summer - start early on permits, folks!), Anthony juggled other projects and the teams showed up. These men are artists AND very very efficient! Our new home sits on a hill; they excavated at the back and installed a large Bellgard paver patio. A boulder wall surrounds it, with chunky steps up to the side yard. They broke up some of the boulders, and tossed them around (with a Cat) until they found the perfect side and fit. The pavers were cut to fit around the boulders, to perfection. The front porch, a concrete slab that was leaning down and away from the house, was leveled and covered by pavers (saving money instead of ripping it out). We extended it out a little bit from the house. Now we don't have to step back and down when opening the front door, and we have a small sitting area for visiting with our neighbors. The front walk was replaced and widened, with smaller stepdowns to the street for safety. But the biggest work was in pulling out as much of the roots from the tree and bush removal as possible, which was more than any of us expected. Soil amendment, additional top soil and installation of a sprinkler system (we'd never thought of that, and what a saver that was), and sod was installed as it started to get hot. Not ideal timing, but with the sprinkler system, it grew in strongly and beautifully. Finally, Anthony convinced us to have Darek, his landscape designer, draw up plans for our approval. My husband convinced me to go forward with the front of the house, and around the side. We reserved a berm (created to provide some privacy for the patio since we're on a corner lot), and the back to do ourselves, because we love gardening. Darek did a fantastic job, and although we chose to not use everything he suggested, we love the results. A few of the planting aren't doing well. Anthony is coming back and we have a replacement agreement to go over. Hey, sometimes they just don't grow.
