Entire experience was a disaster. Once Water World received our deposit check all communication between them and us stopped. After leaving many messages per day for 2 weeks a backhoe appeared outside our house one evening. Our pool was dug the following morning- no phone call, no appointment scheduled- only sign was the backhoe in the street. Once the pool was dug I had an open hole in my backyard for 2 more weeks. Again no communication from the office- no returned phone calls. Then suddenly the pool arrived and my phone wouldn't stop ringing because they wanted final payment to bring the pool into my yard. No phone calls- no prior warning that they were coming. After that day I basically had to take control of everything to get anything done. I basically had to act as the general contractor because every day the pool company would say they were coming the next day and never showed. The electric and gas was finally completed at the end of September and the pool was immediately closed. The pool failed final inspection because the electrical panel lacked GFI's on the breakers. The repairs STILL have not been completed (Apr 2014) and now the sub-contractors are threatening to put liens on my home because Water World has not paid them for the work they did at my house. The stress is unbelievable!!!

Water World of Hammonton, NJ is the by far the WORST company I have ever dealt with in my life. We signed a contract last October so that we would have plenty of time to get a permit and put our pool in before the season began. The permitting process took forever. Our township was very strict and wanted a lot of information turned in before they would issue a pool permit. Water World was so disorganized that the whole process was a nightmare. We called at least once a week to ask them if they had mailed this or remind them to mail that. In the end their engineer was unable to complete the plans to our township's specifications so we paid $3000 to another engineer that we found ourselves and he was finally able to get everything in order. The permit was approved on May 8, 2013. We had given Water World a deposit of $21,000 in October and we assumed that as we neared the completion of the permitting process in April, they had taken this money and started building our pool so it would be ready to go when the permit came through. On May 13, 2013, Bill came out to stake out where the pool would sit in the yard. He said we were on the schedule for Thursday May 16, 2013 to begin the installation process. No one showed up and no one called. When we called they said they couldn't get to us. The next week we spoke to Water World and were told that our pool was "on the truck" and they were just getting together the rest of the equipment so they should be out in a couple of days. We didn't hear anything back. The next week we called and the owner's wife told us that there was a "problem with the pool mold" and they needed to redo our pool but they didn't have the correct coloring and it would have to be ordered. At this point I speculated to my husband that they sold our pool to someone else or accidentally delivered it to someone else. After Memorial Day we were still calling constantly for updates. NO ONE initiated contact with us and they often sounded surprised to hear from my husband. Water World finally started digging for our pool on June 11, 2013. The pool was delivered and set in the ground on June 12, 2013. At that time Water World asked for $20,000 before the pool was removed from the truck. They said they would see us the following day to finish backfilling. The next time anyone from Water World came to our house was June 18, 2013 for about 3 hours. It rained and they left. On June 25, 2013, the pool still had no lights and had not been backfilled. Danielle at Water World assured me that if I could leave work early on the 25th and be home by 3, she would have the electrician there so I could let him in to finish the inside electrical. I arranged coverage for my patients and raced home only to find no one there and Danielle had never called to tell me not to leave work. I am livid at their complete disregard for our time. My husband took off countless days that they said they would be here only for no one to show up. The horrible part is they NEVER called. On July 1, Dave came out to the house to turn on the equipment, clean the pool for the first time and teach us how to use everything. He was appalled by how much trash the crew had left in our yard and he took all the garbage and put it in the back of his truck to haul away for us. I asked where our 4 tile line water jets were located on the pool and he discovered that they had never been installed. They were still sitting in a box under our deck. As of today, July 11, 2013, we are still waiting on Water World to install our diving board (they forgot to bring it) and to come fix our electric problems. Only 3 of our 5 pool lights work and they randomly go on and off. The circuit for our pump and filter seem to trip and turn off once or twice a week. They will "get back to us" about the refund for the tile line jets. The worst part is, I did my research. I looked for reviews all over the internet and most were very positive. They have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. After looking into it further it seems that they manufacture a good, quality pool. The problem is they are way too disorganized to try and handle the other aspects of pool installation. This comes directly from the mouth of a contractor that used to work for them in the past. In short, if you absolutely want to use this pool company, let them make your pool but DO NOT pay for the turn key installation. Find someone else to install the pool and handle the electric, plumbing, etc. Water World is just no good at the total package.
Description of Work: We signed a contract with Water World Pools on 10/24/2012 to install an in-ground 16' x 43' fiberglass pool with "turn-key" installation meaning they take care of the pool install, electrical work, and concrete. The fence is not included in this package. We hired our own fence company.
