They did good job of deck restaining, however, were too busy to do the second phase when they said they would in october. POOR COMMUNICATIONS.

We were very careful to discuss with Joe our timing expectations before signing a contract, and Joe was extremely accommodating. We have had our fair share of contractors not doing what they say they are going to do when they say they are going to do it- ARGH! So we discussed with Joe in advance how long the job should take, when the start date was, and how many contiguous days of work would see it done. Joe started October 22, per our agreement, estimated 6 days of interior prep/painting and 2 days of deck prep/staining/sealing. Sure enough he was absolutely good for it! He and his guys even came during the Monday of Hurricane Sandy and put in a full day of work after working the weekend as well (btw, we did not ask them to do either, but hey- that says something!). In addition, there was no arriving late and working late (which we have experienced before and cannot abide with kids that go to bed at 7:30). The entire experience was very refreshing. They were almost always gone by the time we got home from work/daycare. It was like magic elves had been there during the day J We were so excited to come home and see the result of the day’s work! Another standout quality about EJ’s is that there clean up is excellent, we did not come home to a mess even once. Our home is about 3800sqft. Joe painted every wall except for the powder room, master bathroom, and laundry room. Many rooms had more than one color. We also have very high ceilings and skylights and Joe painted one of those ceilings for us as well and it looks brilliant! Joe did the deck in 2 days flat. It looks like a new deck- just as happy with the exterior services and results as the interior. Would definitely work with him again and we highly recommend EJ’s.
