Description of Work: Exterior Painting

Description of Work: Joe and his team painted virtually the entire interior of our home, as well as prepping/powerewashing, stain and sealing our 2 stroy deck and a new line of fencing. I interviewed and got estimates from several other companies (Janis, Paul's, Pizzazz) and we probably were comfortable with all. However, Joe just seemed to be a bit more perceptive, prepared, straight forward, and very transparent. We had chosen Ben Moore colors and was used to working witht hat paint and was very upfront about passing Joe and his team painted virtually the entire interior of our home, as well as prepping/power washing, stain and sealing our 2 story deck and a new line of fencing. I interviewed and got estimates from several other companies (Janis, Paul's, Pizzazz) and we probably were comfortable with all. However, Joe just seemed to be a bit more perceptive, prepared, straight forward, and very transparent. We had chosen Ben Moore colors and Joe is used to working with that paint and was very upfront about passing his discount on to us (not everyone does, or is less than forthcoming about how much the discount will be or whether there is still a markup). As we walked through the house and deck and stepped through everything, he was full of helpful suggestions. His process seemed to us to be a bit more thorough with respect to prep work and deck prep. The estimate itself came within 24 hours, was very detailed and sent over email, which we found most convenient. Joe was right in the middle as far as the pricing, but we liked how the estimate was itemized, with the deck separate from the interior painting, each room broken out, and labor and materials kept completely separate. You know what you are paying for and there is no obfuscation regarding how much you are paying for materials versus labor. Joe did not charge by number of coats either, as many coats as needed. Period. Lastly, but very significant for 2 working parents with little ones, Joe picked up all of the materials- we did not have to worry about anything (not true for others, or not true if we moved forward with Ben Moore paint). At our request, he was also careful to get enough for us to have plenty leftover to touch up as needed to cover crayon, scratches, little finger prints [etc.]
