Description of Work: Several months prior, I had a rep from this company provide an estimate of $4,050.00 (exclusive of materials) for major remodeling in my bathroom (everything except replacing tub and wet area tile, which will be a separate charge of ~$700 to another company for reglazing). I subsequently purchased the Angie's List Big Deal @ $1,499.00 for a week (40 hrs.), "Value $4,440.00." By my calculations, even if the estimate of $4,050 had increased by 10%, that still would have been within the ~value of $4,440, so it was a terrific deal to buy this for $1,499. Because my own schedule was erratic and then I had to wait a long time to get a rep to come to my house, this was just done today (12/4/12). He stated that the deal would only cover handyman-type work and they would honor the $4,050 estimate, BUT that I would have to pay an additional ~$2,500 for plumbing and electrical work -- despite the fact that all of this was included on the original estimate. Therefore, I would end up paying ~$4,000 (not even counting another $1,000-1,500 or more in materials)...so where is the "deal"? If anything, the estimate was for $4,050 and they were offering a "value" of $4,440 -- [not counting my previously-mentioned allowance of +10% for increases,] which actually gives me an effective "credit" of $390. This just doesn't make sense to me. On a related note, Angie's List recently offered (11/29/12) a Big Deal of "$4,699.00 (Value $10.000.00) for Complete Bathroom Demolition and Remodel Including Labor & Materials!" I wish I had known about all of the additional charges that Fix It All were adding on -- I certainly would have tried to cancel out of that deal and go for this newer one instead. Unless I can get Fix It All to honor the price that I was expecting (or I can get them to refund my Big Deal fee entirely), including cost of materials @ ~$1,000-1,500 (some of which are cheaper compromises) + ~$700 for tub/tile reglazing, I will end up spending more than $6,000 total (which is exactly why I didnt get this done in the early spring, when I first began my search) -- as opposed to $4,700 for this Big Deal that I just missed, which would've included a new tub and much more than I would otherwise get. I don't understand how the rep who was at my house today could say that they would honor the prior estimate of $4,050 and, at the say time, insist that I would have to pay an additional ~$2,500...to cover items that are delineated in the estimate. I thought that I was doing the right thing about relying on the Angie's List Big Deal, but there just seems to be something really wrong about this
