Friday, January 8th my heat was not working. I called my warranty company who directed me to this company. Since this company is in Hackensack and I am in Ocean County it took them 3 hours. They arrived unprepared. The two men were trying to use the illumination from their cell phones to work on the furnace. I had to lend them a work light and extension cord. After looking at the furnace I was told that it needed a thermostat, a high limit switch and all of the duct work of my 2 story house needed to be completely ripped out and replaced. The warranty company would cover the furnace repair but not the duct work. I was told that they would give me an estimate on Monday and explained that every place would be closed over the weekend and they wouldn't be able to get prices until then. So we had no heat for 4 days (Friday - Monday) in below freezing temperatures. On Monday I received a call from The Right Way. I was given an estimate of $3,580.00 for the duct work. I expressed my concern and said that I did not want my duct work replaced. I simply wanted the furnace repaired so it can be up and running again. After all, the ducts worked just fine before the furnace shut off. I was then told that the warranty company would be informed that the furnace is not repairable until the duct work is completely replaced. Resulting in my family continuing to have no heat in below freezing temps until I comply with the demand of a $3,580 contract for duct work. I was not going to be bullied or strong armed into paying $3,580.00 in order to have my heat turned back on!! I called the warranty company and told them what was happening. They authorized me to call another company of my choice to come out for another diagnosis/estimate. The second estimate was simply a new thermostat which they had available on their truck (how nice when someone comes prepared). About 30 minutes and $198.00 for the thermostat installation and we had heat! The warranty company will reimburse me for the bill. This company made my family suffer for 4 days in below freezing temperatures with no heat as leverage to scam us out of $3,580.00. I am furious! I will also mention this was the time my warranty company used The Right Way. Hopefully they will not be using them again. I wondered how a company in Hackensack would find it cost effective to travel to South Jersey with a 3 hour travel time (one way) .... I guess I have my answer.
Description of Work: Gave estimate to repair furnace that was working intermittently and tried to scam me into an unnecessary $3,580 duct replacement job. In doing so they left my family with out heat for 4 days in below freezing temperatures.

This lady called on Friday night our company was the only company to respond or tech made a special tech down all other techs were done for the day when our tech got ther yes he used his cell for light because his drop light was not working and all stores were closed custome offered the use of her light to light up crawlspace under house our tech found it needed a hight limit swith and tstat he also informed the ductwork was laying in water and wasn't the right ductwork for home was flex which is in flood zone the duct should be hung and old duct was laying on floor causing when fllod happened it filled with water the correct should be metal not flex flec tubing water soaks into it when tech saw wat was wrong he called warranty company what he found what the warranty company told us not to fix it till customer to get ductwork up to code she asked tech to replace ductwork he told her a estimate will be given to you on Monday On Monday customer told her estimate to redo all ductwork to bring up to code estimate 3,500.00 to do that's metal ductwork not flex she was no way of being strongarmed into us to do the work a estimate is just for cost she was free to get other estimates also she state had another company to come in to fix her heat well she got riped off from other company she had to pay 198.00 dollars for other company to do it let me tell you that the parts they put in only cost 10.00 dollars and should of been 30 mins service fee of 40.00 only cost 50.00 to fix her furnace but if the warranty compant they may not rembuirce them for the work so she may not get her money back from warranty company and the Warranty company Did Tell US NOT to FIX till SHE Got The ductwork UP TO PAR because they did not want us to put New Parts in and New Parts FAIL Thank You
