This company is outstanding. I called, they came within a few days. They came out to my house and took measurements and pictures. They checked every part of the house, yard, and driveway. A week later, I received their report and appraisal. It was extremely detailed and accurate. I know by reading it, this company spent a lot of time and effort doing the appraisal. I was really impressed and would highly recommend them.

Stephen was friendly and informative over the phone. Then on the date of the appraisal he arrived on time and prepared. He took pictures of all rooms and measurements and explained that the work will actually commence once he leaves. He recommended a home inspector given the difficult situation we were in with buying or a family member. The only problem we had was that the emailed report had a different figure than the hard copy that was mailed out. This was a small glitch. I highly recommend the Herald Appraisal Group.

After calling Herold Appraisal Group late in the evening the very next morning Stephen Herold called me back. We went over the particulars and I knew from Steve's responses that this was the right company for our needs. The appraisal was setup for April 1st with our tenants.. By the end of the next day I received via email the full completed appraisal report detailing all the comparable homes used and all the reasons behind the final appraisal amount. Steve was very easy to deal with especially that I live in Florida and the home is in New Jersey. I needed appraisals of two single-family homes in Bergen County. I found Herold Appraisal on Angie's List, and gave their office a call. The receptionist answered right away, was very polite, and directed me to Mr. Herold. We spoke briefly about the need for the appraisals and the locations, and I emailed him details and exterior photographs of the properties. He did say they were somewhat backed up, but would try to get to both within a week - which he did. One of the properties was easy to assess, as there were many comparables in that town. The other was more difficult and took longer for the report to be written, because it is an older, smaller house in a town with many luxury homes. Mr. Herold took the time to call me to discuss the issues he was having with the second property, as well as his reasons for coming up with the final assessed amount. The reports were comprehensive, including many pages of details about the properties and a number of photographs. Mr. Herold emailed me the reports first, then I received hard copies in the mail. In all, the transaction took about two weeks from my initial contact to receipt of the reports. The price was fair, and Mr. Herold and staff were responsive to my questions.
