We were having problems with air flow in the central air conditioner, our home was not cooling at all. I searched Angie's for Home Air conditioning repair and called Duct Mate, the person answering the phone was very courteous and promised to send someone in two days. The technician arrived in two days a little late and checked and adviced to replace the filter and rectified the problem with the unit. Service was efficient and professional. I will use their services in future if req'd. .

The drip pan on our central AC unit was overflowing. With the hot and humid weather, combined with the fact that we are in the midst of a bathroom remodel that is kicking up lots of dust, we were afraid that we looking at a major expensive to replace AC components. The system is about 12 years old -- not ancient but certainly not new. We called Duct Mate based on the great recommendations we read on Angie's List. Within an hour and half of calling the office, a technician, Joe, arrived at the house to assess the problem. He explained that everything just needed a good cleaning. He said he had a previously scheduled appointment early in the afternoon, but could come back later in the day to do our job. He returned at about 4:30 and completed his work in about an hour. The improvement in the efficiency of our AC was significant. It seemed as if we had gotten a new system. He advised us that his company offered maintenance programs, but there was no hard sell -- which I appreciated. He also recommended some minor improvements that we could make to the system, but again, no hard sell.

We moved into our house a year ago and while the central AC unit worked, it was close to 18 years old and it was acting up. Duct Mate was the first of three vendors that I called. Joe Tasca arrived to do the quote and he explained his background. I think he was in the business for 25 years or so and had a tremendous amount of experience to share. He explained how the current system was set up and how a new set up could benefit me. He went into detail on additional changes I could implement to further improve my efficiency. Joe took a lot of time in evaluating the job and he explained everything to me along the way and answered all of my questions. He encouraged me not to rush the process and to take my time and to even get multiple quotes. I was surprised to hear that. I contacted two other vendors that I found on Angie's List. Representatives from both companies came out to the house. While both were nice and knowledgeable, neither took the time to evaluate the job to the same extent that Joe had. I believe that I received the written proposal from Duct Mate within 48 hours. I then proceeded to email Brian Becker with questions. No exaggeration, Brian and I exchanged close to 80 emails by the time the job was completed. Brian always took the time to answer my questions and he never made me feel pressured. Brian was extremely helpful and accommodating. I was told that the install might take 1-2 days, but it only took 1 day. Duct Mate showed up on time, they worked quickly, they were clean, didn't damage anything, etc. By 5:00pm the new unit was installed and running and the old unit was taken away. There were no bits of debris or garbage. They truly cleaned up after themselves. Joe who quoted the job, also managed the install and I was pleased considering his experience. Joe even programmed the thermostat (which is extensive) and then took 20 minutes to explain to my wife how to operate it. When I came home from work he took another 20 minutes to explain it to me. He really went above and beyond. I also wanted to mention that apart from the Federal Tax credit, there was also a Carrier rebate, a warranty extension, a PSEG rebate, etc. Brian came to my house two days after the install to check up on the job, to see if we had questions and to assist in completing all of the associated paperwork. No other vendors went that above and beyond. As for price, Duct Mate came in lower then the other vendors. One vendor even quoted the same exact equipment and Duct Mate still beat them by over $1000. They even have a $250 coupon Angie's List coupon in their profile. Brian and Joe were professional, courteous, knowledgeable, helpful, clean, quick, etc. I would use them again in a second and I would recommend them to anyone. You can't beat them. They truly deserve every "A" rating I gave them in this review.

As a first time home owner, I was very nervous about hiring a contractor. I am very happy with Duct Mate and its personnel. They provided a proposal in a timely matter, follow up with a call to find out if there were any questions, took the time to explain everything, and were flexible to make changes to the proposal based on our conversations. The day of the installation, the crew arrived 5 minutes before the scheduled time and was removing the old equipment within 10 minutes of being in my house. As they installed the new units, they answered my question and completed the work in a timely matter. They were also very clean. I?m already recommending Duct Mate to people where I work. Joe and his crew are good people. Finally, their rates were very viable.

I was extremely pleased by their efforts in cleaning up the area throughout the entire installation process. They were neat when cutting into the walls to install duct work. The company disposed of the drywall, cut duct work and other debris. The cost was middle range in comparison to other companies. They showed up at their stated time of arrival. I was very thankful for the walk through at the completion. An employee explained the interior components and exterior central air unit so I understood how to operate it. In 2 weeks after the installation, they came back to my home to make adjustments if needed and assure all was in good working order. The follow up visit was a part of their process. I did not telephone them of any problems. Rather the business wants to make sure the unit is working properly and customer satisfaction was met.

Furnace and air conditioning costs a lot. These guys are real professionals and earn their money. No problems during the entire process. Just hope the equipment holds up. Highly recommended.

Highly satisfied - good craftsmanship, excellent follow-up. They are usually pretty busy so it is hard sometimes to get on their schedule.

THEY ARE A VERY COOPERATIVE COMPANY TO WORK WITH. I THOUGHT THAT THEIR WORKERS KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING AND THAT THEY DID THE JOB VERY WELL. I DIDN'T HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THEM.
