He did a beautiful job. He was here for hours and even came back to paint. He is very personable, always shows up on time, always answers the phone and is very responsive. I feel secure with him because he will never leave the job until everything is done to your satisfaction.
Description of Work: He did cased openings with decorative headers, crown molding and base molding. He did molding around my door as well.

We used this vendor (Paul) 5 years ago for a similar project and overall the service was good. For this reason we chose to contact him again. WHAT A MISTAKE!!!!!! * Our first clue that we were heading down a bad road was that Paul had changed his company name from " Decorate with Molding" to Moldings N More. Research tells me that it is common practice for company's who have created a bad reputation for themselves and simply continue to do business under a different company name. ***So BEWARE of MOLDINGS N MORE.....or whatever Paul changes his company name to next week. * The real problem arose when we pointed out that two pieces (simple fixes) needed to be corrected. After debating the issue with my wife and myself.....he FINALLY fixed the problem. Apparently, the extra 20 minutes that it took to correct his mistakes were enough to have him walk off the job (leaving unfinished walls marked up). The following day, I called Paul to ask when he was coming back to finish the job. His response was "it is too stressful to work for someone who needs to have things done perfectly....so we will not be back." In his opinion, it is too stressful and a waste of time and money to work for someone who is going to complain about a measurement that is off by 1/16 of an inch. In OUR opinion....if something is obviously off-center or crooked to the eye....then it needs to be fixed regardless of how slight he thinks the measurement is off. ***At this point, the conversation was over and he ended the call with language that was uncalled for. THIS IS A GUY WHO DOES NOT TAKE PRIDE IN HIS WORK AND ABSOLUTELY WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

Response from Moldings N More
After reading this negative review, I find it necessary to write a rebuttal to rebuke the false interpretations of what actually happened. I have been in the home remodeling business for 30 years, and 17 of those years were dedicated to fine interior trim work, and the company was named Decorate with Molding. The reason for changing the company’s name ONCE in 17 years is because we NOW do “more” than moldings. You can check out our company’s description, services, and pictures on our Facebook page. I have hundreds of satisfied clients and, NEVER had a negative comment or dissatisfied client where my employee Robert and I decided it was in our best interest to leave the job and walk away from $1,278.00. I knew I was going down a “wrong road” on the first day when I arrived at the job with NEW finger joint primed molding, and NEW flex moldings. I was questioned and asked if the NEW moldings where ripped out of an old house and being reused on this job. I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. Knowing I am a person of integrity, and have an excellent reputation, I said I would never even “think” of using used materials. After the first day of work was completed, everything looked great. There was one transitional cut where the flex chair rail intersects with a base cap molding on the circular stair riser. There are two ways of finishing that cut. It was the end of the day, and I left the cut for him to see. I was going to show him the other option on the next morning. However, that night I received a derogatory call from John, he said “If you do not know how to cut the molding the right way, I will find someone who does.” I was taken aback by his rude demeanor, and politely responded that I would show him the other option cut the following morning. When I arrived the next morning, I showed him the alternate cut, and he approved it. I have been using the same spacing blocks for 17 years that are used to lay out chair rail and portrait frames boxes. The next morning, after the boxes were glued and nailed to the wall, they said one of the boxes looked crooked. Robert and I looked at the box and we both agreed it was not crooked, and was installed properly. There is only one place it can go, and that is on the pencil lines made when we marked the spacing block. Moldings N more lives by the motto, “The customer is always right.” So the next day, we removed the box and built a new one, spackled the wall and used the same spacing blocks. We installed the box in the same place, and at the end of the day they said it looked great! This is the first time in 30 years the customer was not right. On the next day, it came time to install the large flexible chair rail up the round wall of the foyer stairs. John asked, “Why do I need Robert on the job, you worked by yourself last time.” I said, “It’s impossible to install flex chair rail molding on round walls up a round stair case by myself. (It’s a standard industry 2 man job.) When installing the flex chair rail, it is important to make a few, small pencil marks on the wall where the top of the chair rail is going to be nailed. Before I glued and nailed the flex chair rail in the correct place, I showed them the pencil lines/reference marks. They said it didn’t look right and wanted me to lower the chair rail at the top end. This would put the chair rail in the wrong location, and it would not look professional. They were also upset that I put removable pencil marks in the correct location. There is only one place the chair rail can go, and that is the right place; which is the same distance from each step. I refuse to finish a job incorrectly, and remove it the next day. I like doing it right the first time. That night I called John and told him it was in his best interest to get someone else to finish the chair rail. I ended the conversation as a professional. (NEVER EVER have I used fowl language on or off the job. It is not my nature!) I have always prided myself on my sterling reputation, and have continued to service and honor some of my most beloved clients. Everything I do as a craftsman comes from my love for my work, and the joy I bring to the people that I have serviced. One of my favorite clients is the Blessed Sacrament Church in Martinsville N.J. I donated my time and expertise and did some very nice molding work for the parish , and the parishioners and clergy absolutely loved it! I have posted a picture of our latest foyer, in the gallery section for you to review. This foyer is identical to the one mentioned above. Even the flex moldings are the same. “A picture paints a thousand words”…..
