Audubon Fencing

I have a $9,100+ fence that can't keep my dog in!!! DO NOT USE THEM!! Learn from my VERY expensive mistake!! They improperly planned posts & gates, ordered wrong size gates, installed fence up to 8in too high in some places, had no foreman, those who did arrive did not introduce themselves, took several weeks to complete the job, did not have a final walk thru, blamed US for their errors, threatened to remove the fence but didn't and threatened to take us to court! At est consultation, we informed them and specifically ordered extra narrow slats due to our rescue dog being only 7 lbs. They installed the fence up to 8in off of the ground in some places!! Of course he just walks right under it! The salesman had measured the right side area to be 28ft. He planned (& even drew diagram on contract) 4 5ft gates, a 4ft section of fence & a 4ft fence. So, that makes sense, 4x5ft=20 +4 +4=28ft, right? Well, I came home to find posts that were: 10.5+ft, 10.5+ft, 1ft & 4ft apart!! We has chosen a downslope concave fence, so imagine how bizarre a ONE FOOT section of fence was going to look!!!! Uuuuugh. HE had neglected to take the dimensions of each post into account in his plan. Luckily, I caught it before they were cemented in & called him. In the end, WE were blamed for the error with the saleman writing, "We also discussed that the size of each gate for the double gates (4 required) would be 5 feet each. In our brochure it states that the posts are 5" x 5" each. Brian did not ask any questions about the over all length the double gates would require" SERIOUSLY???? HE, the professional, did the measuring! HE, the proffessional, did the planning and it is OUR fault that WE didn't recalculate and WE didn't take the 5in posts into account into HIS plan??? THAT is their job, that is part of what we paid them to do!!!! Then the salesman claims that the company was kind enough not to charge us fir the wrong size gate and panel that was ordered!!!???!!! Uuuuugh. When speaking face to face with the salesman, he said he would, "see what he could do." However, he did not and when we emailed these concerns, he blamed us for their errors, did nothing to help fix the problem and finally threatened to take us to court!! Jesse and Cathy were both wonderful. It's such a shame that they are associated with this company. Kudos to Cathy on your professionalism and Jessie for your meticulousness, as well as professionalism!! It was VERY unfortunate for us that Jesse had not been on the job from the start of install!! Like I said, they had NO forman at all on our jobsite! Toooooo bad I hadn't read the reviews before hiring them. Silly me, having prev lived in Audubon wanted to give my business to a local company and hadn't read the reviews. To be fair, we took full responsibility for our error in not having noticed that the wrong caps were on the est sheet and notified them prior to those caps being installed. I notified them and they told me that they would not install the caps they sent. They said they would send the correct ones with the "gate guy" when he comes. Despite all of that, someone from their company came and installed the wrong caps anyway!! Then they blamed us for them having been installed & needing to be removed & that they were no longer resellable. Save yourself a lot of aggravation and go with another company with all good reviews!

Horrible! They don't return phone calls, they lie and they break contracts leaving you stranded. Cant believe they have any good reviews at all.

Fence looks great, guys were polite and professional, best price from 4 estimates.

They do a beautiful job. The only problem was they put the lock on the outside of the gate. I had them come out and fix that. I would recommend them to anyone.

They did not call and didn't show up. I scheduled off work and no call no show.

The responsiveness was amazing. I called several companies and they were the only ones who responded and did the job immediately. All the other would say they will visit in a week to do a quote, bu the service would be done a few weeks. I was traveling, so I couldn't see the job. When I came back everything was impecable. Just great! I highly recommend this company!

After using two other fence companies I was pleased to finally have and quot;professionalsand quot; The job went great. Not only did they start on schedule, but it was completed on time. The team had to work in a difficult setting and did a perfect job. All debris was removed and they even hosed the driveway of mud. Not one plant was disturbed. I came home from work and was WOW'd Thank you Audubon Fence you have restored my faith.

I'm so conflicted with my review for this company. They do great work but are not the best communicators. If you are okay with having to track them down and hound them for information or call backs then I would recommend to go with this company just for the quality of work that is delivered. We've actually had 2 installs for our fence and the end product is a beautiful addition to our property. There were minor issues after the second install - some gaps and scratches - but both were fixed after my calls to the company. They didn't expect any payment from me until I was happy with the install. The only thing is that they never told me they came out and fixed the scratches until I went out and inspected my fence over the weekend. Again, communication is not their strongest characteristic. The cleanup on the second install was messy. They left piles of dirt and some pieces of metal in my neighbors yard which I had to clean up on my own. They also filled up our trashcan with their materials which was annoying since we then had nowhere to put our garbage for an entire week. However, the first install was fine. I think it boils down to who works on your fence. Ask for Jessie - he did my first install and helped clean up the issues with the second install. I should also mention that everyone was very nice and professional. Terri in the office dealt with my repeated phone calls and was never annoyed or nasty to me. I will be using them again when we get the third and final installation of our fence complete. The quality of the fence install itself can't be beat!

After getting several estimates for my fencing project, I opted to go with Audubon. They offered a free quote and were on time for the appointment, and they offered advice about fencing regulations and permits in my town. They were not the least expensive, but they were definitely not the most expensive. They had nice fencing options and useful catalogs to help select materials. They were able to take credit card payment, which was great for me, and after a deposit we quickly scheduled an install date. We had 2 days of weather delays which was the only real issue with the whole process - my only criticism would have been that I wish I'd been notified more promptly about the delays, but after some quick phone calls, we got everything sorted. On install day the crew showed up on time and got right to work. They were courteous and respectful, and they treated my yard and the project with care. They did a great job and the quality of the work is good. They were done in a day and we received a ton of compliments on the fence. I plan to use them again in the future.

This whole process couldn't have been better. They worked with me when the closing date on my new house got pushed back, and came out exactly when I needed them to. The fence install was HUGE, covering almost 3/4 of an acre of property. They installed 3 gates, two double wides and a normal entry way. The crew that came out was super efficient and polite, and they made some last minute changes without question. They nicked a couple of my sprinkler lines, but notified me about them and repaired them and had me test the lines before they left to make sure it all worked. The fence is amazing. I love it. When the crew searched for the concrete monuments, we found that our property is larger than originally expected. Audubon was able to get additional materials delivered to the site that day and complete the larger installation the same day. The crew was very professional and the installation was first class. I highly recommend Audubon fencing.

Job performed by another company.

We had five estimates from different fence companies and that was an eye opening experience. First piece of advice, get multiple bids. We found as much as a 100% difference between high and low bids, depending upon the style of fence and who the contractors were. In one case, the bid for the exact same fence was 40% higher from one contractor who we quickly eliminated. Also, the quality of the salesperson turned out to be a key factor in making our decision, and in this case Chuck from Audubon was outstanding. Audubon was our last estimate and we were able to avoid several design mistakes and save money as a result. First, we had large trees that were growing up next to our old fence. Chuck suggested moving the fence approximately six inches inside our property line for one tree, and then using an angled section of fence for the other tree instead of going outside of our property line to have a corner. (By staying within property lines, we would avoid potential land/title survey issues if we later decide to sell our house). We also avoided having to take either tree down which also saved several thousand dollars. Second, based on the style of fence that we wanted, Chuck said we might want to go from a five to a six foot fence (12-18 inch picket on top of solid fence), because a five foot fence with the pickets would not have the same level of privacy as our old fence. He also suggested wider gate openings so I could more easily get my riding mower in and out of the back yard. We went over options as to whether the fence would follow the grade of our backyard or would have a constant height--we opted for the constant height and had a landscaper back fill the area with a few loads of topsoil. With the trash corral design, Chuck suggested moving it in 6 inches from the side door entrance so it would be easier to move things into and out of the house. Finally, Chuck's bid included removing and hauling away our old fence, which one of the other companies missed entirely in their quote. Work was completed in one day as promised. There were a few missing end caps on some of pickets, and I asked for a couple pickets to be replaced. Chuck came out within two days and replaced the missing caps and several pickets. We've had the fence for several months, and have been very happy with the work performed by Audubon. They were easy to deal with, fair in their pricing, and helpful throughout the process.

I called for them to come back and fixed it. I had paid them everything but about $100.00. I ended up having to go through the channels and get the news people involved. They came and ripped the fence out of my yard. I should have called the police for them trespassing. Their grandfather who started the company was no longer running it and the new people had no remorse. After the television station got involved they did fix the fence and the gate.

They were excellent. They were very professional; they arrived at the house and took down our previous fence. They cleaned up everything and installed the new fence within a day. Everything has been very good. I would give them five stars out of five. We did our front and the railings and soffits. Their work is impeccable. They handled all the permits and I really didn't have to do anything except pay them. Their price was the best of the three people who gave us estimates. They were also the quickest to respond. They came within two weeks of the estimate. They were supposed to start at 8:00 and they actually started at 7:45. The service manager came out and all of them were very professional.

They are a very small company and they were professional, clean and fast. Their schedule is kind of full so you have wait a little bit. I will use them again in the future.

I thought that they were very nice and commentating. I left a message and they called us right back. He felt that it wasn't cost effective and we appreciated his honesty.

HE CAME OUT FOR THE ESTIMATE BUT NEVER CALLED BACK WITH A FINAL QUOTE, AS HE SAID HE WOULD. THEY GAVE ME A PAPER THAT SAID THEIR REPUTATION DEPENDS ON WORD OF MOUTH, WHICH GAVE ME A CHUCKLE SINCE THEY DIDN'T FOLLOW THROUGH WITH GETTING ME A FINAL ESTIMATE.
