Jamar Home Remodeling

Right from the start the crew at Jamar was great. They worked with me to find a solution that was in my budget. They showed up on time and did a wonderful job. They did run into a little problem with an HVAC duct being located where I wanted a window put in, but Greg offered me advice and even brought in someone to give me an on the spot estimate of what it would cost to reroute the duct. All in all these guys were great and I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

The order took a couple of weeks, and delivery of the windows was made the day before installation began. Doors were delivered a day later. Jim let us know the day before that his crew would arrive at 9am the next morning, and they were there a few minutes before. Work was professional and quick. Everything was cleaned each night when they were done,and the old windows neatly stacked outside for removal by them at the end of the job. It took a total of 3 days to finish all the windows and install the doors. We had a few minor details we wanted addressed before we considered the job completely finished, and we were very pleased that Jim was very responsive and promptly handled these as he wanted to make sure we were totally happy with the job. To us, minor details matter, and what makes service excellent vs. just good. Jim also did not nickel and dime us at all. We are very pleased with how the windows and doors look and work, and we have received compliments from the neighbors too! We would use him again anytime!

Jamar returned phone call immediately and continued to do so throughout the duration of the project. The estimate was provided in a timely manner and was thorough. The results were professional. Installed new siding on portion of house hit by Sandy - great job matching existing siding. Installed new awning, new front door and performed a few other small repairs to the outside of the house. Overall, very happy with the professionalism, timliness and responsiveness of Jamar.

Jamar does EVERYTHING RIGHT and NOTHING WRONG. I would never hire another construction company. Their prices are fair. Their crew is made up of very nice and very smart people who are loyal to their company. They all get along and treat each other with respect. They are polite and honest. They work very hard, and they also work smart. They are very experienced and never encounter a problem that they can't solve. The work that they did on my house was so very fine that it looks like a new house. They have the magic touch with home improvements. I was expecting the results to be good. But the results are completely fantastic! People passing by are stopping to stare and give compliments. Jamar has worked on our house before. They installed a new front door and storm door a few years ago. When they returned for this new job, I told them that the lock on the door was problematic. They got to work on it and replaced it with a brand-new lock. This company deserves its excellent reputation!

Contacted Jamar to get a quote on a storm door replacement They came the next day and gave me my quote along with materials regarding the product to be installed. I was extremely satisfied with their promptness and found the quote reasonable. After making a modest deposit the door was ordered and they came to install within 2 weeks. Jamar arrived to do the installation on time and with all the needed materials to complete the job. The installation went very smoothly and the installer was very competent and courteous. Jamar took away the old door explained how to operate the new door and completely cleaned the work area. I am totally satisfied with my experience and would highly recommend Jamar. I would not hesitate to use them in the future.

The overall experience with Jamar was one of the best I've had with a contractor. I initially called Jamar to provide an estimate of installing a new front entry door. Gregg came within one day, took measurements. Once we had selected the door, he sent an estimate the next day. The estimate was broken down into labor & materials, with the exact details of the door we selected right down to the hardware we requested. I called Gregg and Jim (Jamar) a few times with questions and they always responded to my voice mail the next day at the lastest. Gregg made suggestions on the door finish ---- having the factory complete the finish, and recommended having all of the trim done in the finish we selected. He also supplied us with the website to select our hardware. It took approximately 4 weeks to get the door. They immediately called when it was ready and scheduled the date for installation. They removed my old door and framing, installed the new door in 5 hours with new framing, calking etc. The work was exceptional. Greg even bought a new doorbell since I had forgotten to get one. The cleanup was great and they took all of the old door, frames etc away. I could not be happier with the way the job turned out. I will use Jamar again!!!

We chose Jamar Construction Company because the company had excellent reviews on Angie's List. These reviews were accurate. From our first meeting with the owner, Jim, we felt comfortable. He was here every day making sure that the job went smoothly. We were impressed that even though he came from Paramus, he was here every day and sometimes twice a day. Jim takes pride in his work. He was accessible at all times. He kept us informed about what would happen during every step of the project. Jim was very attentive, offered suggestions, and was very professional. He listened to us and was very easy to work with. He was always concerned about our satisfaction with the project. His workers were very friendly, skilled, and cleaned up after themselves. We have had many compliments on the appearance of our home and the quality of the workmanship. This was our first experience with a major rennovation and Jim made it enjoyable and satisfying. We would highly recommend Jamar.

The work team arrived on the appointed day. They were quiet, and worked steadily through the day to get the job done. It took roughly 6 hours from start to finish. They worked carefully, cleaned up after themselves, and were exceedingly polite. Jim the owner was on site to observe and manage the team, but I would guess that he didn't need to be there based on this team's professionalism. I was pleased with the work and the results, and would recommend Jamar to anyone looking for windows, doors, siding or roofing.

Replace old windows with new ones and install new trim around them.

We made a phone call to JAMAR regarding a door replacement after having experienced issues with the Lowes nearby. Jim came over in a day or two, took the measurements, and a few weeks later a team showed up and did the job. They arrived when they said they would, finished on time, and the quality is second to none. Jim even followed up with a phone call to make sure we were satisfied. What more could you ask? I would highly recommend this company.

I called several contractors to give me an estimate to have the work done. Jim from Jamar came to my home and gave me an estimate in line with the other contractors but Jim seemed much more professional and courteous. They did an excellent job installing a really good quality product.. I am very happy with the fine work they did and I would definitely recommend Jamar.

Still waiting for the railing to be fabricated. That part only $150, but takes 4-5 weeks for delivery. Jamar's part of the job was done quickly and well.

The siding near the roof was slightly damaged during the Superstorm Sandy. I called a few places for the repair, and Jim from Jamar Windows & Sidings gave me the best rate. We exchanged a few phone calls to set up an appointment, and Jim and the co. came on time and fixed the siding like nothing ever happened before. Jim is very professional and delivers a high-quality service. Highly recommend him!

Overall the job went extremely well. There was a problem with one of the doors that we ordered and Jim offered to fix it. We had declined but the went over and beyond for customer satisfaction. Greg, Jim's son, did most of the work and we could not be happier with the outcome. We will definitely be using Jamar again in the future and we recommend them.

Sandy blew off siding from one of my dormers. Jamar's father-son team provided an estimate and service in 2 consecutive days. I was called the day of the service and they were flexible in meeting my schedule. Work entailed a little extra effort as not all of the siding had been recovered as thought when the estimate was rendered. Thankfully, leftover siding was in my garage and it was cut to fit the open spot - no extra charge.

Estimate was clear and timely. Provided references and example houses to look at. Once contract signed, they waited to start until they had all materials ready prior to starting work. There were no surprises and they finished on time. There was no scope drift or budget drift that wasn't initiated by me. Work was conducted by experienced and considerate employees and supervision was clearly on top of the job. They always left things clean and took care to make our space usable when they left for the day. Their subcontractors for the masonry and gutters were also very good. I'm used to having to make a punch list and walk around with a contractor to finish up the odds and ends of a job with any contractor. This is the first time I couldn't find anything to put on the list. When they said they were done... they were actually done. Highly recommended.

I had a great experience working with Jamar to replace some old windows. Everyone that I worked with were very professional. The window order came in within the 3-4 week time window quoted, and the job was scheduled soon after. I am satisfied with the quality of the work. The house was left clean and free of debris. The $200 Angie's list coupon was honored with no problem and represented some real savings. I highly recommend that you gave Jamar a call on your next window job, as I certainly will do in the near future.

They were not cheap, but not very expensive either. The gentleman was very knowledgeable. He was very professional. He said he would bring me some samples, but he did not get me any samples. They had good reviews on Angie's List that is why I am going with them. Depending on how they complete the job, we will decide on whether to use them in the future or not.

His price was $200 off. I got two different prices depending on what window I wanted. He was about average in price.

We inquired but they never responded to our calls. We left a message saying what the problem was why they do not come come out. They never come out.

Their window installers arrived the day after all 18 windows were delivered. They were very professional, paying attention to the finest details. They also cleaned up after themselves very well. A day or two later the siding installers removed the old siding, and while they cleaned up the bulk of the debris from around the house, they did miss a bunch of nails and screws. So if you have small children you'll want to get out there right away with a powerful magnet and a good pair of eyes to find all of them. (That advice goes for any company you hire, obviously.) The siding was delivered right on time and everything would've gone like clockwork and they'd have finished the house inside a week, but the siding installation team ran out of siding before finishing the job. So it took a little longer than originally anticipated. Other than that everything went well. And the house looks great. They even installed an insect shield at the base of the siding. It keeps bugs out of the underside of the siding. Note: When you go into a large remodeling project like this you'll find it difficult to think of everything you should do. This goes for anyone dealing with any remodeling company. For instance, if you have louvred vents on whole-house fans or an exhaust fan vent, you might want to tell the installation crew not to paint those since vents don't work well after getting a coat of paint: JAMAR is also excellent when it comes to details that might have been overlooked during the normal course of work. For example, the siding crew neglected to install weatherstripping around the garage door. The crew had left on a Tuesday, and Jim (the owner) was out here by Friday installing the weatherstripping.

Father and son business owners, Jim and Greg, provided a professional and competitive proposal. Very efficient and quick-working installation crew. Thorough clean-up each day. Complete job was finished in four days. The house looks great!

Everything went smoothly. The owner, Jim Catanzaro, promptly returned my initial phone call (12/7/10) and stopped by to have a look at what exactly it was we wanted. Based on his advice and the information available on Jamar's website, we selected a door and the side units and he prepared a written offer, which we found reasonable. We gave him a 25% deposit and agreed that the work would be done after he received the door (which had to be special ordered) and the weather forecast would be favorable. Jamar received the door end January/Beg February 2011, but because of the dismal weather at that time, we asked them to install the door a little later. On February 15, 2011, the door was installed to our full satisfaction. At the time the work was performed, we realized that an electrical switch box needed to be moved and replaced and Jamar organized an electrician who performed the work on the same day. That work, too, was done to our full satisfaction and at a reasonable cost.
