All work was done quickly and efficiently. They also made small recommendations for some minor improvements which, we authorized them to do. We were very happy with the time it took for them to respond to our first call to the last day of work!

This job went very well- We have a 200 year old house and this is a flat tin roof drain repair. We have several contractors out who recommended less than optimal solutions. Dan knew what needed to be done as soon as he looked at the drain- it needed to be replaced and he knew how it needed to be repaired. He also recommended additional repairs on the tin roof and a paint to help preserve the tin roof. He was sensitive to the color of the paint for the tin roof and made sure we are aware it was in keeping with the historical colors. He was a pleasure to work with - I respected his suggestions because it was clear he wanted to make sure the job was done right- I highly recommend him-

Dan really knows his 'stuff' and is a true roofing expert who has the knowledge and ability to perform excellent work on tile and slate roofs. Unlike other roofers who claim to be slate and tile roofing experts, Dan installed the replacement tiles the 'correct' way, which is by using copper nails and a copper 'bib' squeezed tightly into place above the nail head and the tile above to prevent any water from penetrating. I had done a lot of research on the internet on the correct way to make repairs to clay tile roofs, and the 'copper nail and copper bib' method used by Dan is absolutely the correct method, in fact it is the only correct method. Other roofers who use bent strips of copper flashing to hold a replacement tile in place are not creating a lasting repair, as the heavy weight of snow on top of these repaired tiles will cause the tile to eventually give way and fall, as the bent strip of copper flashing is not strong enough to keep the tile in place. Below is an article on the correct way to replace missing or broken tile or slate: http://www.traditionalroofing.com/TR8_strap_hangers.html Dan was extremely professional, prompt, easy to work with, and is very customer oriented. I was extremely happy with the work he did for me and will continue to use him for future roof work. Also, Dan's willingness to take the time to find extra replacement tile for me that were very reasonable in cost that I could keep on hand for future repairs was a much appreciated service.
Description of Work: Dan Russo replaced a number of clay tiles on my roof and in addition, purchased and delivered a number of 'extra' clay tiles that I wanted to hold in reserve for future repairs, after this particular roofing repair was completed.

Description of Work: I needed some repairs done to my slate roof (replacing slate tiles that had come off during the winter storms)and front porch (a section of which was falling down and created an eyesore). My family was coming to visit and I wanted the repairs completed before they came. Mr Russo was good enough to squeeze me into his schedule. He quoted me a fair price to make the repairs which was to replace the missing slates. He told me which ones were essential and which ones were a fix down the road. I opted to get all fixed at once(50 in total) The end of the porch had rotted from water/rain damage and squirrel damage, was falling down and parts were missing (wood trims and a gutter drainage whole had been filled in compounding the problem) Mr Russo was on the job the next day and fixed all 50 slates in 1 1/2 days; his carpenter was on the job and rebuilt my rooted porch end which included the removal of a rotted support beam. The carpenter, John, created a support bridge or box and supported it, applied matching trim and painted it- it now is crisp and clean white.Mr Russo was very informative about my slate roof and my roof to my porch which is the original tin. My house is an 1877 Victorian. He painted the tin porch roof and the tin roofs to my bay windows, The extra cost was worth the preservation of the tin and added a cleaner look to the house which still needs painted. I was very satisfied with the workmanship, their professionalism which included their clean up after the project. As it turned out, my family started arriving early, very early- my sister and my mother arrived exactly one hour after he completed the work and my daughters arrived 2 hours after he finished. The first thing my daughters said was "WOW, that(referring to porch) looks really nice." Thank you Mr Russo, John (carpenter) and the worker who painted my tin roof areas. It looks great and I admire it often. I will definitely call on Mr Russo and his team again - as I have other projects that need to be addressed which we briefly discussed when he was repairing the slate, such as the painting of the house, the repairing of a portion of siding and an interior door original to my house which I wouldn't trust to any one but his carpenter. I have since given his name to a friend of mine who has been hesitant to call roofers.

Very well mannered, very polite, and they were on time. I called a number of roofers and they didn't want to replace just the small section that was leaking, they wanted to replace the whole roof. These guys just replaced what needed to be replaced and didn't try to sell me on the whole house. I felt that they were quite honest.

Dan was very professional. He took a look at my roof while I was at work and called me right away to give me his opinion. Price was fair. He did the job with another individual and I thought they did a pretty good job.

I have known Dan many years. He is trustworthy, good to work with, and prices are competitive. He shows up on time and completes his work quickly. He did an entire roof on my old house and various repairs on my new house (both renovation projects in Main Line Philadelphia area). His work is top notch, both in asphalt or cedar. He is a true expert who can do the most complex cedar roofs, copper flashing and gutters, or the simplest asphalt roofs (like the tool shed he just completed). He's definitely a contractor you want to have on speed dial if you have trees around that could damage your roof.
Description of Work: Replaced roof on tool shed this time. He has done whole house roofs for me in the past.
