Gargas Roofing and Construction Inc

Gargas Roofing installed our roof in November of 2015. They applied for the construction permit from my town, they installed the roof, we paid them the same day. Gargas was not easy to reach by phone or email, typically taking 2 or 3 days for a call back. The price and job were both good. Communications and professionalism were not good at all. June of 2017, 1-1/2 years later, my town called and said to pay the $215 permit fee or be hit with a $2000 fine. Gargas never picked up the permit nor paid for it. No one has been able reach anyone at Gargas Roofing for months. A complaint report with BBB-NJ has been filed against Gargas Roofing.

The roof had a minor leak within one year. During the last year all of the original soft spots were back under the roofing material and water was coming in through a bathroom light, window frame and door frame located in the room underneath the room. At least ten calls were made to Gargas and messages left. This was over a two month period. No call back has ever been received. I have since secured another roofer to take care of the problem since my room has been damaged. He suggested I get Gargas back since the roof should have lasted at least ten years. I can't wait for a company with such shoddy customer service. Their A rating is undeserved and the Better Business Bureau status is questionable also. I am extremely disappointed.

Made appointment to estimate on first contact 2014-11-10. Fail to show for appointment. Second contact by prospective customer was a message that was never returned.

They came in the morning when they said they would be there. By the afternoon they were all finished. They did a marvelous job of cleaning up. And were careful around the shrubs and plants.

On two different occasions requested estimates for replacing part of the gutters. On the first occasion which occurred approximately 1-1/2 years prior to the latter we requested an estimate for replacing part of our gutters. The office person was very courteous and helpful, and scheduled an appointment, but Mr Gargas cancelled and never called; I was told later on that our job was "too small". On 2013 I called for replacing all gutters, and Mr Gargas's was the third quote we sought. He came and gave us an estimate - one total amount was written on the back of his business card. His estimate, by the way, was the highest of all three estimates. While at our home I mentioned that our priority was mainly one part of the gutters where we were having problems - he said that it would not be a problem. I called his office and after a couple of calls spoke with him. He asked that I estimate the linear feet of the area to be replaced, and called his office back to give them the linear feet. They never called - no response from Mr Gargas or his office.

Great service. Came at 7:30 am and finished the job at 3:00 in the afternoon.

Overall experience with them was very good. I was very happy with them. The quality of work was good. They were on time on the date they promised. The price was reasonable compared to other contractors. The material and everything I had selected was top quality, so there was no problem them, they just ordered what I asked for. I had a follow-up because last week I had a little problem with leaking from the roof and they actually showed up today when I called them. There was a little crack on the side of chimney were the isolation goes in and I think it's the result of the sun, so they came in and fixed it and I'm happy with the result.

No work was performed. This review is based of the fact I left two messages and did not receive a phone call back.

I called Mr. Gargas for an appointment, and he came on time the next day. He thoroughly checked the skylight and its surrounding area on the roof. A few hours later, he emailed me an estimate. He was very professional, but I didn't hire him at that time just because I didn't have enough budget for the whole repair.

Great job. Very professional in all our dealings with them. Very punctional. Great job protecting plants, yard, etc., and debris removal. Very professional installation of GAF shingles, but most important, the underlay, flashing, caulking, nailing down of shingles, etc. Also replaced all gutters with 6" gutters with leaf guards. Mark was very helpful and professional. We shopped around on Angie's List and came up with 3 excellent roofers, but choose Mark as his prices and warranty were best.Would definitely recommend Mark and his company to anyone who wants a quality roof installation.

I found him on Angie's List. He's a nice young fellow, he did mine and my neighbors. We haven't had any trouble in 5 years, the roof is holding up. He's an A-Lister. We both had our entire roofs done. I have a small ranch home. One of the gutters in the front of the house started to fall down so I called him and he came and replaced that whole part that was falling down and didn't charge me. I thought that was great. They were such nice people, too. He gave me a nice price and the quality is very good. So far everything is holding up.

Everything seems to have gone well, but it hasn't rained yet so we're not 100% sure. He showed up when he said he would & gave us an estimate right then & there. He was prompt with the repair.

Had weather damage to roof. They had the best price . Showed up on time and worked quickly . Final result was very good.

Excellent work! Crew was very careful to protect garden and lawn. Roof was removed in 1 day and replaced the next day. Men did many extras without asking. Best overall experience. 1/2 of other bids. Perfect quality. Instant responsiveness. Always on time. Professional and caring.

good. They also replaced some wood on my 95 year old house while doing the shingles. I was not happy that when they replace the wood it was unpainted and they did not tell me about it. They cleaned up well after completing the job and did the job quickly. After hurricane Irene my gutter was damaged and I called them. However they subcontracted out this job. The roofing job came with a guarantee.

It worked very well. It was an interesting and very pleasant experience. The guy named Anderson owned the truck, did not have to go over this. Therefore, I was considering to brizzle him instead of bothering the troops. It was always positive not to bother the troop if I tried to get something done. The service was uniformly excellent, nothing stood out. Quality of work was excellent. They were immediate in responding. They were workman like, they were strict, they were self disciplined and they went right to work.

I would consider using this company if I had to replace my roof. The estimator was courteous and professional.

After seeing the good reviews here I called the company and was told I would get a call back to set up an estimate. After about five days with no call back, I called again and was told again that I would get a call back to set up an estimate, making sure they had my correct phone number. It has been about a month with no call back. It seems very unprofessional for such a highly-rated business.

They did a good job and they were good. We were satisfied.

interviewed the representative at my home. got an estimate. compared his rating with two others. checked angies list and found an a+. faxed a signed work order. was told would try for next week. then agreed to 3/28/2011. At 730 am on 3/28/2011 two trucks and 5 guys showed up and laddered up my house front and back. the roof was stripped and the new roofing was installed. by 4 pm i toured the house and passed over the check. no fuss, no muss to bother!

they did not win the bid to perform the work.

The roofing crew arrived exactly at the agreed time and it was completed. The area was cleaned and the debris was removed.
