Mr. Fence

They were a little pricey. My experience with them was very good except the person who installed it I didn't like. He was very nasty. I already complained to the company about that. But, he did a good job but he had zero human relation skills. They did the good job, they had the expertise and I'm very pleased with the final product.

Latches: I was expecting the same latches but they installed different ones, creating new holes in the gates and leaving the old holes exposed. Perhaps I should have clarified prior to the job being done. Re-hinge: They did not line up the 2 sides of the gate. They said that the support on one side would need to be pulled out of the ground and placed back in to make it line up and that was not included in the estimate. This was not discussed when the estimate was given to me. Top of the gates basically look like this: |-----------|_______| | | | | | | | | | Repainting: This was the worst of all....they spray painted the exposed areas of the fence only. When I received the estimate, we talked about them scraping off the old, loose paint to ensure that the new paint would adhere. They did not scrape any paint off and when I asked about it, one of the men working started cursing at me and went to the truck and shouted to the others to come since he was leaving. The other 2 gentlemen were visibly upset and tried to apologize for his behavior, which by now, he was sitting in their truck, screaming obscenities into his phone saying that he did not have to put up with the *#$*%*%* woman and who the *$%*&* does she think she is. Loud enough for all the neighbors to hear. That evening, they charged the balance to my credit card. I called the credit card company and told them that the services were incomplete so it should not be paid. The owner came right out and sent his people the following day....but, no scraping of old paint - which by now had new paint over it anyway - just more spray painting. The owner's son came to the door and I told him that I was still dissatisfied since the "old" paint was not scraped off.....to which he said (angrily) that no scraping was needed so what was he to do.....but he would look again. I closed the door and looked outside to see him leaving. I basically figured that the cost was so high because of the labor involved with scraping and fixing the gate properly....Would you pay >$1,000 to install 2 latches, 1 hinge and spray paint 1 gate????
