Dean came out and provided a free estimate including provisions for other unseen water damage. He then presented a contract including his license number. The contract did not include his insurance information so I asked if he was insured and he stated he was. The contract also included a generous 10 year leakage and quality of work warranty. Dean then came out and did the removal and re-install including his version of a waterproofing wrap over the 2 x 4 under the window. He also had to replace one of those 2 x 4s due to rot. We paid extra for that as previously agreed upon. He had a sub-contractor do the aluminum capping on the outside. All looked very nice until the first rain. Prior to his work we had one window leaking . I had stopped that leaking with additional caulking so essentially we didn't have any actual leaking prior to Deans work. After his repair we now have 3 leaking windows. Water seeps in under the window sill and on top of the window sill. We tried calling Dean many times, including the "office" number on his business card, which turned out to be someone elses number who had nothing to do with Household Solutions, but we got no reply. We sent messages via Angies List service and finally got a reply. Dean stated he had been on vacation, just got back, and would call us the next day. Needless to say he never called. We went back and forth with messaging and it wasn't until I mentioned possible legal action that he called the next day at 7:30 in the morning. He agreed to come to look at the problem on Saturday AM, but I had a prior commitment, so he agreed to come Monday after 12:30 PM. I waited all day Monday but no show and no call. During all theses delays we checked with the NJ Division of Consumer Affairs and discovered that Dean did not have a license as stated on our contract and his business card.. He had let it expire 3/31/15 and did not renew it. (our work was done in October 2015). After many other messaging and finally phone contacts Dean said he would stand by his warranty and fix the problem. It was at that point we discovered he no longer had insurance and as per his message was no longer in business. I told him I didn't feel comfortable assuming the liability of him working on our property without insurance. He understood my position and we discussed a refund. We agreed to him refunding $600 of the $645 I paid him. He stated he would send us a form to sign and our refund would occur 10 business days after he received the completed form. That was a week ago and we still have not received the form. 12/19 still waiting.
Description of Work: Removed and reinstalled 3 windows which the previous owner had replaced but were poorly installed. Also replaced the window sills which were rotted in places and replace a 2 x 4 under one window due to rot.

We are having crawlspace work done in the next week and needed this issue to be resolved immediately. Household Solutions were spot on. I contacted them, they supplied me with a quote after a visit to view the problem and we contracted with them to do the work. The next day they showed up bright and early with the supplies and in an hour the work was finished. They did a bang up job. Again, I was in a hurry and think the cost were on the high side, having said that it was my decision, I could have gotten further quotes.
Description of Work: We had opening between 7 of the joists that protrude from the crawlspace to the front porch. They installed pieces of board between each joist, caulking and sealing to r***** air flow and critters from entering the crawlspace. Excellent customer service & work ethic. We're very happy with the result though in retrospect I think pricing was on the high side. I would use them again but would gather further quotes.
