AFTER THE FIRE CHIMNEY SWEEPS

Jim Kocha, who owns After the Fire Chimney Sweeps, was very easy to work with. His proposal was straightforward and extremely detailed. He provided information on products and explained everything to me. He also showed me Internet links to the products that I would be getting. He was the fourth chimney company that I interviewed and he was clearly the best by far. He was very respectful of my property and very accommodating to my schedule. He's a terrific guy.

After the Fire Chimney Sweep performed a chimney cleaning and inspection service in October of 2006 on our home. In June of 2007, they came again for another inspection tied to a home sale inspection. After the first inspection, they gave us a report showing a chimney in good condition and verbally told us the chimney was in great condition and should be fine for a long time (did need some crown crack repairs and recommended chimney caps). For the second visit, they recommended $6,175 in chimney repairs with notable fire hazards existing. So, this company either: 1. Gave us a bogus report in October of 2006 that endangered our home with fireplace usage. Or 2. Saw an opportunity at a home sale inspection to frighten potential home buyers and price gouge. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES!!
