In mid-July I called their service and received a call back from Rossi just a little bit latter. He came to see the house and left us a very attractive quote a couple days later. A week or so after that we decided we wanted to discuss the quote with them, and I asked if someone could come over after 7PM since I don't get home from work till then, They were very accommodating and Nick came over one evening the third week of July. We discussed the job and gave him a $250 deposit. He told us that the job would be done probably at the beginning of September or possibly the end of August. We got a call on August 15th that they would be coming on Saturday to do the power wash and the painting would be done the following week. They came on Saturday the 18th as promised and completed the power wash. Then on Monday the 20th they started scrapping and painting. The entire job was completed by August 22nd. The house looks great, the workers were professional and we're very happy with the work they did.

I received with the estimate shortly after speaking with the company. After comparing it with other estimates I mailed in a deposite and was told that the work would start in about 4 weeks. After numerous phone calls and promises by the person that was my contact I called one day and received a message that he was on vacation. I was finally able to get the main office to answer the phone and another supervisor called and told me that he was glad that I called because they were very slow and were sending their employees home because they had no work. After that the entire job was completed in two weeks. It was very frustrating dealing with them however once they decided to work the workers were professional and the job was satisfactory.

Very sorry you felt this way I wish you would have let me know when I spoke with you. However I very Glad you feel you got a quality job at a fiar price. All of our cell phones( Nick and Myself) are on our cards and the web-site and there is no way we would have ignored you. At times we can get very busy but would never promise on something we cant deliver. Nick and I are both owners and not supervisors and wheres the shame in being honest about slowing down in August. Once we got there we delivered on all our promises and Im going to have to hang my hat on that. Member Im so sorry everything you said was true I just cant imagine that Nicky would not return youre calls. The office is an answering service and not hard to get a hold of they are open 24 hrs 7 days a week. We were however a few weeks late and for the Im very, very sorry. If you give me another chance you have my word It wont happen again.Sorry, Member. We were very pleased. They washed it down, sanded it and did an excellent job. They were marvelous, clean and efficient. Their job was good. They were just great. They responded quickly. I hope I don't have to paint again for the next seven or eight years but if I needed to I would absolutely use them and I would recommend them too. They were just marvelous all round and I can't say anything negative about them. They were just great in all aspects. They were efficient, kind, neat and did a good job. If we requested anything, they listened and responded quickly.

There are a couple of spots with missing paint next to the front door. I called him back and he said he would redo it. I had three different appointments and he keeps pushing it back. Now I haven't heard from him. His price was good but the work doesn't seem to be finished. When he doesn't come and look at the job after his people are done, that's not a good job. The fact that he didn't come by and do the repairs it brings the grades down.

We are In the process of honoring the warranty. There are two spots smaller than a baseball on the painting brick on the front of the house. There was left over paint that cant be found and we are trying to get the color. We never canceled an appointment and have tried repeatedly via E-mail to get the color. As always I am available via my cell phone at 848-333-4088. I will get this done by the end of July.

His firm called asking if it was OK if he was late. When he arrived he explained he had a bad day and seemed hurried to get me done. He did not provide a brakedown of each job which I had asked for.
Description of Work: I received an estimate which was much higher than another well recommended painting firm which I am hiring. However a friend used this firm who lives over an hour from me. She used them for extensive inside and outside work and was very happy at their professionality, neatness and attention to detail as well as the cost.

We were very pleased with the work that was performed. Our kitchen had several layers of wallpaper from previous owners and we wanted to have them removed so that we could re-paint. Worry-Free came in and told us the best way to accomplish this - then they removed the wallpaper and spackled the walls so that they were paint-ready for us. The worker showed up on time and cleaned everything up before he left. All that was left for us to do was sand the walls and re-paint. We would definitely look to hire Worry-Free Painting the next time we had a painting job to do.

Excellent and positive experience from start to finish.Nick Murante, one of the owners came by and we did a walk through and he gave me an estimate for the paint job as described above. He honored Angie's list $300 discount. Carpentry repairs were billed at $40 per hour plus labor. His crew boss, Julio, worked with his wife and two other family members. They were extremely reliable, arriving at 8:00 am sharp, stopping at noon for a half hour lunch and working without a break until 5-5:30 pm. They cleaned up the job site every night and were very responsive to all my questions and suggestions. If I found any areas of the house they missed it was immediately taken care of. The job was scheduled in a timely fashion and done within a week (we were blessed with a week of sunshine). The house never looked so good! They really worked hard to prep the house properly so the finish coats would lay smoothe, and decrease the likelyhood of chipping in the future. I'd hire them back in a heart beat for any further work. They also provide a 4 year warranty, plus they used a very high quality Sherman Williams paint (Resiiance). I can't say enough about Julio's good humor and cooperative nature which made working with them a pleasure.

The worst experience I have ever had with a company and this was only over the phone. I can't image what would have happen if I had actually use this company to complete the work.
Description of Work: From the first time I called this company, I had a bad feeling because the person complained about how little money he was making and that Angie's List was making most of the money. Then he felt he needed to tell me about a complaint from another client. After that he informed me I had to buy the products to use on the wall for removing the wallpaper. A few weeks later I called the company and advised the service provider I would have to cancel and reschedule and could someone call me back. I never heard again for at least 3 weeks until today April 3 when I called again and I was told by the owner that he was too busy.He had so many requests from Angie's List and that he should never had received my request because it was the fault of Angie's list advertising New Jersey instead of just Northern New Jersey and he can't afford to have his workers go out to all these cheap jobs that were only for $199.00. When I mentioned why would I have to buy the products I was told by him, you should have read the contract. Well there was no mention of buying products because Angie's rep. Angelina told me no such thing existed on the contract. Then he informed me to get my refund back which is what I did, but not until I received a phone message insulting me and calling me crazy. This company wonders why they have problems getting clients. I never even got past the contact appointment.

This client never called to cancel and when I called her to confirm she informed me at 7 pm on the 19th that the job on the 20th was being cancelled by her not I. Then she called yelling at everyone 3 weeks later excusing us of not calling her to re schedule. She is very rude and I not going to allow her to abuse the girls in the office or myself. Service and quality is our specialty and our over all reports and 5 years in a row winning the super service award is my proof of that regardless of what she feels.

Nick was very responsive to my calls. We were in a time crunch as we bought a new house and wanted it painted before we moved in. He was able to get painters into our house quickly and they performed the work in a very short amount of time. I ended up not liking one of the colors of an accent wall and he repainted it another color at no extra charge.

Our first impression of Worry-Free Painting was less than positive. We emailed several times and got zero response. Then we called, someone answered and said a person would call us back, but several days went by and no one did. We called again, made an appointment for the wallpaper removal to be done... and on the day we had agreed on, no one showed up! It seems the boss was on vacation, and the employees were unable to keep things together in his absence. We rescheduled, and this time things went a lot better. The worker showed up a full hour before the time we had agreed on, worked very hard and very well, and stayed an extra hour to finish, without charging us any extra on top of what we had paid for the coupon. We were extremely pleased with the quality of the work. We assume this rescheduled visit was a more typical experience with Worry-Free Painting, so we are glad to give them a positive evaluation.

This was a special Angie's List deal - $199 for 8 hours of wallpaper removal. The kitchen was the most important job, and when he finished that room early, he also removed wallpaper from a small bathroom as well. The technician was friendly and very nice, and only took a quick break for lunch. No problems there. Unfortunately my husband didn't check the work carefully enough because we found strips of wallpaper that weren't removed from between the stove and pantry as well as on either side of the window. Some obvious chunks and strips of paper were left on larger walls as well, and we had to ask him to remove them, but he didn't get them all. We still have to remove a bunch of remnants ourselves. Also, the ceiling on the working side of the kitchen was left splattered with the removal chemical he used, whereas he cleaned up the ceiling on the dining side. It does save us time in the long run, but we would have preferred one thoroughly complete job in the kitchen.
Description of Work: This was a special deal from Angie's List - $199 for 8 hours of wallpaper removal. We wanted wallpaper removed from the kitchen, and if time permitted, from a small bathroom. The most important thing was that the walls be ready for prep and paint.

This company is operating illegally in violation of the Contractor?s Registration Act, N.J.S.A. 56:8-136 et seq. Try entering their "license" from their profile on this website: https://newjersey.mylicense.com/verification/Search.aspx?facility=Y I have also attached photos of their expired license to this review. If you want to get a sense for the integrity of this company, look at their response to my review. I supplied facts and photos, and they respond by calling me a liar and a "clown," without pointing out where I lied or addressing the photos showing their sloppy work. Real class acts ? not exactly worthy of being entrusted with your next home improvement project. No wonder 40% of their most recent jobs for wallpaper removal are rated either "D" or "F." I ended up having to hire another vendor from Angie's List instead (click "View all reports for this member" to the right for their contact information - they were amazing). The owners initially present well on the phone, but are unwilling to accept responsibility for any inferior work that you may experience from their employees, even when confronted with photos like the below. Photos: Photo 1 - picture of the wallpaper "removal" after 7 man-hours (I paid for 8, but they disappeared early without notifying us) Photos 2 & 3 - close-ups of the sections of the wall that "Worry Free" Painting considers "completed" I hesitated to even write this thorough review, because I am a busy guy and the amount of money at stake here is completely inconsequential to me. However, I really feel that pointing our this company's bait and switch tactics and holding them accountable for their behavior is a form of public service to others who might not be as well prepared to deal with their antics. What started out as a decent experience with "Worry Free" Painting turned into a real disaster from a performance and customer service standpoint. I actually believe the "A" reviews ? if nothing out of the ordinary happens, you get one of their better employees, and the company feels like the job is profitable enough, I don't doubt that they are capable of doing good work. However, if you get a rookie, or anything at all should go wrong and you ask them to rectify it ? you're in for a ride. Essentially, you will be told some combination of the above as they attempt to back out of their work commitments: "This is the hardest wallpaper we have ever seen" "This job is not profitable for us, so we can't come back." "Angie's List swamped us with orders, so we don't have time to start/complete your job." "We'd be happy to complete the work if you pay us more money?" (for the job they already promised would be completed within the specified time). Therefore I must highly discourage people from doing business with this company. You learn a lot about a company by how they react when you're unsatisfied. This was a test buy for me, we have a lot of other work, and so I'm glad I saw their true colors before I entrusted them with a larger job. Personally, I often discount negative reviews when I read them, because I sometimes get the feeling that they are written by people who have no flexibility or empathy for the vendor. So for those who are interested, I have painstakingly detailed my experience with the company below so you can decide for yourself whether you would have been happy with the experience (based on my call with the owners, I'm sure the company's reply will be some sort of thinly veiled personal attack that attempts to deflect any responsibility from themselves): 1/23/2012 - I purchase the Angie's List Deal for Wallpaper Removal, which promised exactly the following: "Every room/house is different and some projects take more time than others but they can typically get around a 160 sq. ft. room's wallpaper removed, walls washed and completely paint-ready in 8 man hours. Additional hours are charged at normal rates." The room I hired them to complete is only 100 sq. ft., so I figure that even if the wallpaper is more difficult than average to remove, the job will be complete, or at least near-complete after 8 man-hours. Later that day, I send an email to Rosario ("Rossi") Palmieri, one of the owners, providing my payment receipt and asking for a call to schedule the job. ?[crickets chirping]? 1/24/2012 - I then call into the office and speak with his partner, Nick, who indicates that they were swamped with responses from Angie's List, and he asks me to call him back in a week to see if they can schedule the job at that time. I was a little annoyed at point that I was being tasked with the followup job, but as a business owner myself, I was also empathetic that they were struggling to keep up with demand. ?[7 more days of cricket chirping]? 1/31/2012 - A full week came and went, so I called Nick again who said he would call me back by the end of the day with a confirmed appointment. ?[more crickets]? 2/1/2012 - I call the office again, receive what I felt was a genuine apology from Nick, and the job was scheduled for 2/7. I was appreciative. However, I was a little put off at the end of the call when Nick provided me with a shopping list of items he wanted me to buy for the job ? "Dif" brand wallpaper removal solution, and spackle. There was no mention of this in the original advertisement for the "Angie's Big Deal," so I guess I wrongly assumed that they would come prepared for the job. I remember thinking after the call, "should I buy them coveralls and drop cloths as well?" Didn't plan on a Home Depot run ? not exactly the turn-key deal advertised. (Note, even the "A" review from 2/16 on the same deal corroborates that he was asked to buy certain items. Also ? I sure do wish I got Julio and Gloria from that job, it sounds like I would not have to write this review!). 2/7/2012 - The day of the job the contractor, Angel, arrived on time and seemed like a nice enough fellow. After an hour, I checked in on him, and he said that everything was proceeding well. When I asked him if he thought he could finish by the end of the day, he said "absolutely" and added that the office only recently told him that he would "have to be [at my home] all day" and he seemed a little frustrated with the process. About 90 minutes or so later, his boss Nick appeared in my kitchen (without announcing himself or ringing the doorbell, apparently after being called by Angel) and explained that they would not be able to complete the job. I was annoyed by this, but frankly would have been happy if they got at least 3/4 of the room paint-ready. I figured I could then pay them or someone else to complete the remainder and then paint it. After Nick left my house, everything really slowed down from a productivity standpoint. Lot of phone calls, back and forth to the truck, leaving for a long lunch, etc. The best way I can describe it is that he was approaching the job with the same lackadaisical attitude of a toddler who had just been told to eat his vegetables. No effort to get it done on time, or even to complete one section completely ? just running down the clock and lots of phone calls. What I was left with was about 1/2 of the wallpaper partially removed, with large sections of glue still remaining on even the "finished" walls, along with lots of bits of paper everywhere. Generously speaking, I can say that the job was about 25% complete. Attached are a few pictures I took so you can judge the workmanship for yourself. Even the "completed" sections have dozens of tiny bits of paper hanging off the wall (note the 3" shadows cast by my desk lamp). This picture runs completely contrary to the story I was being fed about the job being "unusually difficult." The little bits of wallpaper could be removed by hand, let alone a scraper. Just sloppy work, plain and simple (see the photos attached to this review). And finally, their employee just slinked out of the house without telling us he was leaving, so we're not sure exactly when he stopped work (I noticed his truck was already gone at about the 7.5 hour mark). It was disconcerting enough that my wife even checked her her purse to ensure that nothing was missing (nothing was missing). Despite the obviously sloppy work, as a business owner myself, I gave the owners Nick and Rossi the benefit of the doubt, told them of my experience, and asked if they would be willing to clean up the job or offer a 50% refund, their choice. I figured it was just a sloppy job by a new and/or distracted employee, and based on their other reviews and their review of the pictures I took, they would agree that the job was not performed to their normal level of quality and complete the work. I was wrong. Rossi adopted an adversarial tone and told me that the ad said some jobs are harder than others and I should have read the fine print in the ad. I explained that I had read the fine print, which advertised a paint-ready room up to 160 sq. ft. in 8 hours. I explained that I would not be complaining if I had 3 or even 2 walls paint-ready, but because all 4 walls have to be scraped again, I am not much better off than when I started (not even 10 square feet of wall space was "paint-ready" after 7.5 In other words, I now needed to hire a new company to start the job over almost from scratch to remove all of the remaining glue and paper bits (I obviously was not going to accept their "offer" to pay them more money to complete the job they botched the first time). In short, I feel that Worry Free Painting engages in bait-and-switch practices, and I was very disappointed with their attitude after I took the time to take photographs and carefully explain my experience. Because they just kept complaining about Angie's List and how little money they were making on the job. A very disappointing experience.
Description of Work: Wallpaper removal for a 100 sq ft (10x10) room. They got 25% of the job complete in about 7 man-hours and then disappeared without letting us know they were leaving. 50% of the room was untouched, and the other 50% was half complete (large sections of glue and wallpaper remains clinging to the wall – see photos). I had to hire another company, (click "View all reports for this member" to the right for their contact information) who completed the remaining 75% of the job for $100 in 4 hours. When I tried to bring my dissatisfaction to the owners, I was essentially told that the job was too small, they put in their "8 hours" and I was out of luck (unless, of course, I wanted to pay them more money). Obviously, I'm very disappointed with "Worry Free" Painting, but thrilled with the responsibility and professionalism of their replacement vendor.

Let me preface this that I am a HUGE fan of Angie's List, and have used them for a number of services over the last year. Thanks to member feedback I have been able to confidently select quality service providers, and they have all been excellent. So I was thrilled when I saw that Angie's was featuring a "Big Deal" for 8 hours of wallpaper removal for $199. Without hesitation I signed up for the service, and disregarded a few negative comments from other members, as I assumed that Angie's had done a thorough screening of Worry Free Painting. Unfortunately I did not have a good experience. It started out well enough- after purchasing the Big Deal, the next day I was contacted by a representative of Worry Free (WF) who explained the services and also asked about expanding the services beyond 8 hours of wallpaper removal. I said that if i had a positive experience with the initial service, I would certainly consider them for other services. That's where things started to go downhill. I was told that i would be contacted within the week to schedule the appointment. Two weeks went by without contact, so I left a message with WF. My message was never returned. The following day I left another message, which once again was never returned. Finally, I decided to use email to contact WF, and indicated that if I didn't receive a response promptly I would have no choice but to ask for a refund and provide negative feedback on angie's list on the lack of customer service. It was then that I finally received a response from Rossi. I then scheduled my appointment with Rossi, who apologized and said things were really busy, as he had a "big job in Pennsylvania", and he provided me with specific instructions on what I should purchase prior to his arrival. I indicated that I arranged for the service to coincide with a vacation day I was planning, so that after it was complete I could paint the area and surprise my wife as a gift to her. He understood and told me that "Oscar" would be there since he only works on Fridays. The night before the appointment I had a sneaking suspicion that something was wrong, since most professional service providers would leave a confirmation the day before an appointment. I called Rossi, and he said "Ummm...I don't have any record of the appointment...let me call you back". A few minutes later, he apologized and said, he messed up, and saw that he wrote the appointment down, and that he called a few people to see if they could cover the appointment, but he didn't have anyone. Once again he mentioned his big job in Pennsylvania as part of the problem. He offered to have someone here on Tuesday, and I told him that was unacceptable, and that if he didn't have someone here as scheduled, I would have no choice but to cancel the service and leave negative feedback on Angie's. I was not going to take another day off from work on a company that had been nothing but unreliable up until this time. Rossi said I was "bullying" him, and that if wallpaper removal is the most important thing going on in my life, I've got issues. As you could imagine, I was furious at this comment- this wasn't about the wallpaper, this was about common courtesy and valuing your customers who rearrange their schedules based on the basic assumption that when a company makes an appointment they show up. To blame disorganization on a "big job in PA" means that he values the big jobs over the rest of us. Needless to say, I'm following through on my promise to provide accurate feedback on the experience to forewarn others, and have begun the refund process with Angie's. I also used my vacation day to remove the wallpaper myself, with the supplies I had purchased for Worry Free to use, so that I could still surprise my wife. While I will continue to use Angie's list, I would ask that they do a better job of screening providers, and get some kind of assurance from the provider that they can handle the increased business before a participating in the Big Deal.
Description of Work: Was an Angie's "Big Deal" for 8 hours worth of wallpaper removal.

Response from Worry Free Painting Inc
I did screw up royally on this one. I made the appointment with the client several weeks ago and I forgot. There's no excuse. I just wish he would have let me make it up to him another day. He refused ,and was refunded his money. We are a bit overwhelmed with the over 56 people who have sign up for this deal (which is worth the wait) and we are scheduling two to three big deals a week and will get to everyone. I apologize again just like I did on the phone several times. I am still willing to give you the deal(which is a really, really good deal) and come on Saturday or Sunday so you don't have to miss any work.Once again I am very, very sorry. My goal is to never make any customer feel unappreciated and I failed this time

I could go on about the quality of work they have done and their respectfulness in our house. They are professional and took care of our issues very quickly. They wouldn’t stop until we were satisfied. Their prices are reasonable, as well.
Description of Work: They painted every single piece of the interior of our house.

They did a great job, kept the place clean, and there were no surprised with the quote. They were prompt and do a good job. 4 March 2012: Again, I did not write the comment above. However, I agree with the statements. We were quoted $5400 and that's exactly what we paid. Worry Free was prompt, clean, and did an excellent job. I would absolutely hire them again. The exterior paint was badly peeling everywhere. Worry Free spent several days removing the old paint and prepping the exterior for the new paint. We expected a lot of mess from the removal of the chipped paint on our property, and there was, but WF did a thorough job removing all of it. Apologies to WF for taking so long to post this review.
Description of Work: They did some exterior painting. 4 March 2012: I did not post the comment above. I suspect Angie's List added those comments after speaking with my wife. That said, my wife and I hired Worry Free to paint the exterior of our home in June of 2011. Additionally, they removed the old shutters from all the windows.

The results were beautiful. The team was very neat and they let me know when they would be finished.I was very please with the experience.
Description of Work: The team painted two newly renovated bathrooms. Both bathrooms required spackling and priming and two coats of paint. They also repaired a small patch in a different ceiling.

Quick estimate, fair price, good prep work, quality materials, on time scheduling and complete clean up and final walk through. Great quality, friendly work crew, complete job, no extra costs.
Description of Work: The gentlemen from Worry Free definately lived up to their company name. From the quickly recieved estimate to the the final cleanup all went as promised. Considering the constant rain and the emergency flood work they were dealing with, I could not be happier with their work. Nick stayed in contact with us on a regular basis and his crew showed up at the house as scheduled. Carlos and his crew did a great job from the prep work to the final trim and door paint.

Description of Work: Painted two bedrooms, each with two coats. I chose the colors the night before the job was started.
