We signed a contract with PR Remodeling, LLC Fairfield, NJ 07004 (973) 814-7025; Rafael Peralta (cell# - 973-964-5159) and Phil Puccio (cell# 551-265-8135) to repair and remodel our kitchen, bathrooms, hallways, master bedroom, dining room and attic area. This included plumbing, electrical, tiling, sanding, painting, floor refinishing, etc. We were told that we could pick out what we wanted such as our bathroom and kitchen cabinets, counter tops, toilets, tub, faucets, sinks, tile, doors, exhaust fans, vanities, molding, back splash tiles, etc. Rafael and Phil of PR Remodeling, LLC told us we had an allowance of $7,900 for these items, but we noticed that they were not buying any of these, so to keep the work progressing, we paid for most of all the items allowed in our contract allowance. We did this because we were told by Rafael and Phil that anything we paid for would be deducted from our balance before any final payments. We were required to pay a deposit at the start of the contract and then make incremental payments at the start of each task on the project list. We paid for the required work permits on 3/7/11 for construction, building, electrical, and plumbing work. They advised us to get a storage pod for our furniture and other belongings, and we are still paying a monthly fee for that pod because although work was started on our remodeling project in March 2011, all the work has never been completed by Rafael Peralta and Phil Puccio’s company - PR Remodeling, LLC. Over many days, weeks, we made phone calls, and left messages for Rafael Peralta and Phil Puccio. We tried Rafael, then Phil, finally Phil responded that he was no longer working with Rafael and PR Remodeling LLC. After their unsuccessful attempts to reach Rafael, merchants contacted us about our kitchen cabinets and counter tops, which had been ordered, and were ready for pickup, but had not been paid for or picked up by Rafael or Phil. Rafael had written the contract to require larger payments to PR Remodeling at beginning of a task, not at the completion of a task. Phil Puccio had always collected the checks from us, but after Phil signed for a very large payment, which he said included money for the kitchen cabinets and granite, we did not hear from him until he told us he was no longer a partner with Rafael. By the time we realized that they were not going to complete our remodeling, we had paid out over $35,000 with various remodeling tasks in progress, but not completed. Now, that we have already paid Rafael and Phil, the majority of the money that they asked for in our contract, we cannot afford to get all the work completed as we had hoped. We had to pay other contractors to complete some of the unfinished tasks that we cannot complete ourselves and the rest we will have to complete on our own, as best we can. We would never recommend Rafael Peralta, Phil Puccio with or without their company PR Remodeling LLC, located in Fairfield NJ, for any jobs.
Description of Work: Home remodeling demolition in kitchen, powder room , master bedroom, primary bathroom, hallways from attic down to main level started and completed in March 2011. Insulation, drywall and drywall mud and supplies were delivered. The electrician started the re-wiring and told us we needed to upgrade some of the service and we paid extra for the service upgrade. As wiring was done, we did not get all of the additional electrical outlets as we requested. The outside walls in powder room, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, upstairs stairway were insulated , and all walls were dry walled. The wiring and drywall all passed the rough inspection. The kitchen, powder room, hallways, master bedroom, primary bathroom were given a primer coat of paint. In primary bathroom, the tub was installed; shower walls and floor were tiled. The kitchen and powder room floors were tiled and walls were given 1 coat of finish paint. Our dining room walls was given a skim coat to smooth out the cracks and primer paint was applied to these walls. Then, installation was started on some moldings, trim and baseboards in hallways, bedroom, bathrooms, but was not completed. All during the phases of remodeling, we had to keep checking the work and reminding them of what they were suppose to provide because they would try to short-cut. The quality of the work being done was not good and more than once, they had to re-do some of it. They were very sloppy, they didn't clean up the tiles after grouting, so some of the glue and grout dried and left a thick haze. They dropped paint and spackle mud on our hardwood floors and said not to worry because they were going to sand and re-finish them, which they did not. During demolition, they damaged window sills, stain glass window, and cracked the bay window in our master bedroom, all of which they promised to fix, but did not, because soon they slowed up on the work and then work stopped and we were unable to get Rafael or Phil from PR Remodeling to complete our remodeling project and fulfill our contract.

IT WAS A NIGHTMARE! We were conned out of $2,300! I WOULD NEVER TRUST THIS PERSON AGAIN!
Description of Work: We gave PR Remodel (Rafael Peralta) a deposit check of $2,300 for work that was to be done on 10/21/11 but no workmen showed up. After not being able to reach him by phone I sent an email to find out when the dumpster would be delivered and the work would start. No response. Finally on 10/24/11 I reached his answering service and was told that the work would be done within a few days. The dumpster was delivered later that day and we thought the workmen would be along shortly. By Friday of that week, after trying unsuccessfully to reach Rafael, we had the dumpster removed. The dumpster company owner said they had had problems collecting from Rafael and won't ever do business with him again. All we want now is our money back. We've already hired another company to do the work. I reported this to the police to see if they can do anything about it.

When they first started they said it would be 2 weeks to finish. Their were multiple times that they said they were going to show up and they never showed. One of the days was on Easter Sunday, which again no one showed up. People would come which didn't know what they were doing. The work that the first set of plumber did was terrible. When another set of plumbers came, they even said that the work was bad. The tile looks terrible. We had little glass tiles that were suppose to look like a marble bathmat but they installed it wrong and it looks like a snake. On June 6, 2011 there are numerous things still wrong which are as follows: back band near light switch has too big of a space, spackling work around tub is terrible, a corner whole by the tub does not meet correctly, on the window the step edge is good on three sides but missing on the left, there is a lose back band to the lower right of the window that can be moved back and forth, bad chalking on the back of the sink and underside, lousy grout work and big gaps between tiles, the door of the bathroom hits the toilet because they put the toilet in the wrong place and he told us to get a new toilet seat that was smaller, and the window itself is not what we ordered.
Description of Work: He was doing demolition, reconstruction, putting in insulation, re-tiling the walls and floors, install the new tub and shower, putting in a new sink, put a heater in the wall, grout everything, spackling, and paint.
