Response from Ned Stevens Gutter Cleaning
Why would you by a deal for gutter cleaning if you have a cover system that makes it where you can't clean the gutters? The cover system you have is supposed to prevent you ever needing gutter cleaning. It is not something that can easily be flipped up and down for cleaning, these covers are screwed down. Then only thing we can do without charging more is blow off the top of the roof and covers and blow out the slits where the water gains access. This takes the exact amount of time as doing the gutter cleaning would if you didn't have covers on them. When someone purchases a deal for cleaning out the gutters, we assume that they have gutters that can be cleaned. If you had hardwood floors with carpet on top of them, you wouldn't buy a hardwood floor cleaning and expect the company to tear up your carpet to clean the floors underneath. When you bought the deal, you knew these covers were up there and didn't say anything to us. We did not know, nor was it specified anywhere when you purchased the service in the notes that you had these covers. Had it been, we would have indicated to you that all we could do is a cover cleaning for the deal you purchased. Had you contacted us before purchasing and said, "Hi, I'm interested in purchasing your deal, but I have a gutter with a cover screwed down on it. Will it even be possible for you to get in a clean it for $120? It says clearly on our website that we permanently remove no clog covers for $150 a home. This is work that is not part of a basic gutter cleaning, it isn't described on the gutter cleaning page and is no where described in the deal. There is honestly no logic to assume that we would do all of this extra work for free. And when you called about this issue, you said the gutters were overflowing, not leaking. These are two very different things. The covers that you have overflow all the time, and even cleaning underneath won't fix that. We have tons of information on our website about why these covers overflow, and why we don't install those types of covers and won't reinstall them. I don't see how you can ethically give us an F review when you buy a deal for a gutter system that is screwed closed, expecting work that is above and beyond the deal for free, and being upset that your gutters are overflowing when you have a cover that should honestly be named "The Overflower". The best thing you could do for your system is remove the covers, but that is extra. I'll make it easy. Point to anywhere in the deal where it says we would remove covers to clean your gutters as part of the deal, and we'll come out for free remove the covers for free, and clean the gutter system again for free.
