i got very accurate estimate, by phone calling in measurement of counters by myself, first. i had used this company at our shore house, and old house in 2007 and 2009 respectively. We moved to a new house and needed to replace bad granite counters. Mark came to my house and measured more accurately. He sent us to great granite site in Edison, with excellent selection. Installation was on time, and fast. Very high quality job.

Overall it was a very bad experience. The owner Robert Blenden did not seem to have a lot of experience renovating a Kitchen. Some of his measurements were off, we had to do a lot of the measurements ourselves for the high hats and cabinets to make sure they were done right. I actually had to move a high hat myself and the vent for the air conditioner. The cabinet installer installed a filler board by the sink which had to be replaced because it was a totally different wood color than the rest of the cabinets. The refrigerator opening was not the right size for the refrigerator. We had to have them put moulding around the edges to hide the gap around the refrigerator. The biggest issue we had was with the countertop, which is supposed to be his expertise. When he came to install the countertop he called me outside to show me a horrible looking repair that his worker Augustine did in a piece of countertop that was going around the sink. He said he would cut a new piece for me and come back to install it. He said he had a new slab at the shop that he would use. A week later he came back to install the piece of countertop that had the ugly visual repair. A few days after the installation of the supposively new piece of countertop was installed, we noticed that the piece had a repair in the same place as the original piece. We confronted Robert Blenden about the issue and he said that it is a perfect piece of countertop, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. He refused to replace the piece or give us a credit for the visual repair. We had a professional countertop installer certify that the piece he installed does in fact have a very bad repair in the countertop. At the advise of an attorney, we told Robert Blenden that he has until 12/03/10 to replace the piece or we are hiring another contractor to do it and taking the cost out of his final payment. He recently sent me a certified letter demanding payment or he will take legal action. He has sent me threatening text messages stating that if we don't pay him the final payment, he will put a lien on our house and own it by the new year. We have never had any problems with contractors in the past. This business owner is very unethical in his business practices. We had another incident were he gave us a spec sheet for an 850 cfm range fan and wound up installing a 500 cfm fan. He did the classic bait and switch. When we first confronted him he apologized and said he would order the correct fan, A few weeks later he said he couldn't get the fan and said to read the contract it states a 500 cfm fan. My proof that he was going to install the 850 cfm fan, which we agreed to, is that he installed an 8 inch round vent in the ceiling which is required for the 850 cfm fan. The 500 cfm fan that he installed only requires a 6 inch round vent. Why would he install an 8 inch round air vent when only a 6 inch round vent is required for the 500 cfm fan. In addition, per the contract the kitchen should have been completed by 09/30, which was approximately 10 weeks. He did not finish the job until about 16 weeks.
