FIRST CLASS MOVERS INC

Fantastic. I've made a lot of moves (although this was my first local move) and this is certainly among the best and least painful. Their crew of 5 was very efficient while at the same time being ultra-careful with our stuff. They make quick work of emptying and loading a fairly large storage unit, then going to the old house to pack and load that. They got to the new home and quickly and efficiently got everything into the house. It is a large house (3 levels + basement) and we had a lot of stuff. Everything got where it was supposed to go without a single complaint--even though lots of the heavy stuff (books & furniture) needed to go to the basement or 3rd floor. I was amazed that they were able to get several items out of the old house that other people couldn't get up the stairs without disassembling them or beating the daylights out of the walls in the stairwells. They got everything out in one piece and without making even one scratch on the walls! They disassembled all the beds and reassembled them in the new house--it was a pleasure to watch them work. A few notes on how they work: (this will sound like the sales pitch, but it really works). 1) They pay their crew more per hour than other movers. They pay them for a full day's work regardless of how few hours the move takes. This means they have no incentive to drag out the day just to get more hours paid. Also, because they earn more, their turnover is lower, so you get more skilled movers. 2) They use 5 people instead of four, which speeds the move, reduces fatigue, and, in the case of the storage unit, lets two crews go up and down the elevator while one person remains at the truck and protect your stuff. 3) The price they estimate is the price you pay...none of the horror stories of the mover showing up at your new place with all your stuff held hostage until you pay the new, higher amount than what they quoted. Also, you pay when the job is done. Also, you can pay with a personal check! I know, it's crazy! Anyway--to summarize. A great move in every respect. Everything went very well. Got all out stuff picked up, packed, unpacked, and placed in the new house. Zero damage to our stuff or either house. Excellent business practices and customer service. They were the second company to estimate the job--their price was very comparable to the first estimate, but their performance blew me away.

From the first interaction with Curtis until the move team left, they lived up to their name," First Class !" Everyone knows moving is very stressful, but Curtis and the move team made it less so. We moved a 4 bed house worth of stuff from Chatham to Berkeley Heights and everything went as Curtis said and as he planned. The team worked very, very hard, were very professional and superbly led by the team lead, Carlos. On time and on budget, no surprises and nothing broken (apart from a $5 wine glass I forgot to bubble wrap! So 100% down to me). We are very happy. Every box is where we need it to be, so as we unpack we feel very organized, even after 1 week.

These guys were amazing. they showed up on time. Worked quickly, carefully and really hard NON STOP to pack everything so no damage could be done in transit or storage. Worked quickly and were extremely polite and professional. I called them on Monday, they had an opening on Friday, so I took it. Glad I did. The bill was exactly what was estimated. I could not be more pleased. I would not consider anyone else when I actually move the full house. EXCELLENT!!!

there isn't much i can say that hasn't already been written. responsive, courteous, professional, careful, clean, orderly, fairly priced. colleen followed up promptly on our initial inquiry; we were never left hanging waiting for a call back. curtis carefully explained the estimating process, answered all our questions and gladly complied with a few special requests prior to and during the move. they gracefully accepted our request to reschedule just one week before the move was originally to take place (new house had water damage) and accommodated our new dates without question. we used them this week to move items from storage into a new townhouse, and next week will move the contents of our current home into the new place. in yesterday's move NOT ONE SINGLE MARK WAS MADE on the walls or floors. so amazing how careful and respectful these guys were of our stuff. IMPORTANT - a big scam in moving is to charge more than the estimate and hold stuff hostage on the truck until the new price is paid. on the day of the move, these guys CHARGED LESS THAN THE ESTIMATE because they finished early. compare that to any mover you work with. so glad we found this company, i will never use another mover..

Simply put, this organization lives up to its name. These guys are first class in every way. From the first interaction with Curtis Silver to genereate an estimate for the sake of comparison, to the actual pack up when the owner, Mike Andreaggi, showed up with the crew, to unloading the trucks in Maine everyone was polite, respectful, hard working and straight as a arrow. They did exactly what they said they were going to do for the price we had agreed upon in a timely and effective fashion. You may be thinking, isn't that what they are in business to do? Ask around and you will discover that most of your friends and colleagues have horror stories from their last professional move. Stories like, once they had the trucks loaded they increased the price of the move because their estimate was 'too low', they broke several pieces of furniture that have been in our family for two hundred years, my guitars were completly destroyed, etc. Now thanks to Angie's List we found an A reated company that estimated the cost correctly, showed up on time to pack up, coordinated services with a local Maine moving company whose crew met their drivers to unload in Portland, made sure that every box and piece of furniture was undamaged and placed in our new home appropriately and all for an up front agreed upon price and not a dollar more. Let me say it again, First Class Movers is just that, they are first class movers. I didn't think it was possible but they moved 485 items of ours and not one piece was damaged, lost or destroyed. We could not have been happier with their performance and would recommend them to anyone based on our experience.

VIctor and his team at First Class did a wonderful job with my move. No damage to any of furniture or household items. It was easy to schedule an estimate with Colleen with Mike and he came out promptly. I had several questions after the initial meeting which Colleen answered directly. On the day of the move, Victor and his 3 person team arrived punctually and carefully wrapped furniture moving it down a narrow flight of stairs without damage to walls or furniture. When delivering to the house, they put boxes where they belonged and re-assembled beds, even repairing damage done to a twin bed by a prior mover 6 months earlier. After an absolutely disastrous move into the apartment 6 months ago with a large, national moving company, I highly recommend First Class and would use them again.

Everyone from this company was very nice to deal with. Both the estimator and the movers showed up on time and were very nice and professional. My possessions were moved to my house that I am currently renovating and the movers wrapped everything so that my stuff wouldn't get dirty or damaged during construction. If I had one complaint it would be the cost. Four years ago, I moved my 1 bedroom apt from Chicago to New Jersey for 2/3 the cost. Granted I had an extra bedroom this time, but wow! Their initial estimate was inline with the other estimates that I got, so maybe that's the going rate in the region. But the movers took a 45 minute lunch break that I was charged for that. I didn't think that was cool. Overall, a good experience but the final cost was a little surprising. UPDATE: First Class Movers contacted me to advise me that the charge for the lunch break was made in error. They apologized and refunded me the cost for that time. It was unexpected, but much appreciated. Truly first class! Overall, I had a very good experience!

They might be fine for free standing homes, but they were way off the mark from any experienced high-rise familiar mover

It went really well. The whole process has been easy from the beginning to the end. Curtis came to our apartment for an estimate and he was really on time. He was very professional and knowledgeable. He even suggested us feel free to get another quote from other companies for comparison. He gave us some tips in how to save us some money by trying to move some pictures ourselves if possible. We felt so comfortable to Curtis from our first encounter that we didn't hesitate and decided to put our trust in him with the move. If not because of some complication with the closing, we could have done moved some of the pictures as he suggested 2 weeks before our planned moving date. Since our original closing has pushed back to the end of the month and we were not prepared to stay for another month in the rental property, Curtis tried his best to work with us to make all the loading and unloading on the same day instead of having all the boxes stayed in the trunk or in the storage overnight to save us some money. On the day before the move, two guys came to pack our apartment and it took them the whole day to pack most of the stuff. The next day, there were 5 guys there to help us with the move. The movers put blankets/roll up runners to protect the hardwood in both places and put some plastics on the carpet to protect the newly installed carpet in the new house. We were very impressed with the movers in how professional they were. They started early in the morning around 9:00am until 2:00pm or so. They waited for us to conclude the closing so that we could get the key to our new house. Then, they started to unload the trunk and worked till almost 7:00 pm in the evening. Because we have a lot of boxes and furnitures and a big screen TV, the ultimate prices was more than Curtis originally quoted. But it was worth the money because they did a great job and the overall moving experience was a breeze. And they tried to accommodate us as much as possible to make the move went smoothly without a hitch. The cost was $3700 and we gave the guys $400 tips for their two days work. I would recommend these guys and this company to anyone who value quality professional work. If I ever move again (which I hope not), I would call them up in a heart beat.

Overall, pretty mixed. It was either hit or miss depending on the service. The move-out was done with three men from First Class plus some guy they picked up from Moishe's (which has a facility very close). He was even wearing a bright red Moishes shirt. Speaking about him, he moved quick and well, but at the end was rude when he received a generous tip: sum it up as "give an inch, take a mile". I'm assuming he was hired as an extra hand. The rest of the "official crew" of First Class on the move-out was good and seemingly professional. Nice guys and they asked a lot of questions which made me feel their were interested to do a good job. And most of the job was a good job. However, maybe due to laziness or whatever, about a dozen good quality winter coats were stuffed into a small box instead of a garment box, rendering them completely wrinkled (dry cleaning required). Parts of a bed and crib were not in the boxes they should have been in, having us looking in all the boxes for them. And a screw was lost from a dining room table. All this adds up to mixed levels of service. The storage seemed to be good. It didn't rain in the storage room nor did mice et al become an issue. Nothing appears to have been stolen. The move-in was done well. Except this is when we discovered the problems mentioned earlier. The movers were nice (this time only "official" employees) and professional. They were responsive to my issues and overall good. Now I"m in the process of receiving a compensation for the problems. Overall, the company is responsive, but you can't blame me for being annoyed. If I was to recommend them, I would repeat what I wrote here. No moving company is great. These guys aren't bad. But my experience was annoying.

Look no further. Moving is an awful experience but these guys made it a lot less painful. We had a TON of stuff and these guys move fast and meticulously. Truly impressive and these men were lovely and gracious. Big team of 6 guys on the job really helped. Came in a bit below estimate too! We received several estimates and all were close, but this company really lives up to their promises. I already recommended them to my realtor so she can spread the word.

It went exceptionally well - the men were very polite, very careful with our belongings and very cautious handeling our furniture and the rest of our things. They were prepared in taking the precautions of putting down covering for the floors and booties on their shoes. They never took a break and made sure that they would put all our furniture in the various rooms as i requested them to do. In addition, they assembled the beds, bureaus and armoire.

The job was very well done. Curtis was helpful in providing an estimate quickly and scheduling the move within a couple of days once I confirmed my closing date. The crew arrived on time on the day of the move. They were very courteous and accommodating. The crew was patient while we finished packing some of the remaining boxes. In my new home, the crew waited for my directions on each piece of furniture before placing them in the proper spot, which was nice.

My moving experience was EXCELLENT! Curtis was FANTASTIC! Very accommodating, patient, and he provided outstanding customer service. His quote was spot on AND he and his company committed to it! Victor's moving team was very pleasant, very efficient, and the quality of the move was phenomenal. Their customer service support was also EXCELLENT! . You truly are FIRST CLASS and FIRST IN CLASS! I will definitely be using them again. I have already referred them.

Michael and Curtis were amazing. They went out of there way to accommodate us. We were due to move in on August 20 so we vacated our home on August 19th (They picked up at the old home and the storage unit), due to an underwriter at the bank who had no idea what she was doing, we did not end up closing and moving in till August 21. Due to environmental issues with our home, our belongings were all placed in the garage. On August 29th Mike sent the movers back to move everything from the garage into the house. They assembled furniture that needed to be assembled and were nice and pleasant and extremely accommodating. Mike worked with us through every bump in the road. With my wife coming from a family of movers, we felt the price was extremely fair considering how accommodating they were. First Class Movers is truly first class and goes above and beyond to work with and satisfy its customers.

They were great from the beginning. We wanted to move the contents of 1 apartment and 1 condo that were 8 miles apart into a house near the condo. At first they wanted to do it over 2 days but later decided they could do it in one. The day of the move they showed on time and did not stop until they were finished. They were very careful with everything and thoughtful and patient as we put pads on the furniture so it wouldn't scratch the floors.

These guys were excellent, from the initial quote to the cleanup. Curtis came out to give us the quote, and walked through the entire townhouse, noting the major pieces of furniture to figure out the approximate size of the job. His quote was spot on - no extra fees, and his estimate for how long it would take was correct. They also dropped off 20 boxes (free - and we didn't have to go pick them up!) the week before the move. The moving crew was great - they were very careful both with our stuff as well as the walls/floors/steps etc. They also pointed out any scratches on the furniture before wrapping it up so we would know what was there before the move. I was most impressed with the move into the house and setting up all of the furniture. They put down runners to protect the floors and were super super careful to not bump the walls, even though there were a couple pretty tight spots. The guys made sure that the boxes went in the right rooms and that the furniture was arranged to our satisfaction. They even moved one piece of furniture from the living room down to the basement when we decided that there was too much stuff in the living room. Before we paid, the head guy (Victor) did a final walk through to make sure we were happy with everything....these are not those guys that ask to get paid when your stuff is on the truck. It was very apparent that they're all about customer satisfaction, giving the actual price up front (not tacking on fees for tape, under-estimating the time it'll take), and delivering a quality service.

This was a great move. From Curtis who came to give us an estimate to Victor and his crew (Alfredo, Carlos 1 and 2, Xavier and Jorge) they did a fantastic job. They were professional, friendly and took great care with our belongings. The first day of the move it was pouring rain and it didn't slow them down a bit. We love these guys and will be calling them again for our final move. The estimate turned out to be more than the final cost so we were pleasantly surprised.

I received a confirmation call the day prior with a 1 hr window of when they'd arrive. They called as they were enroute the next day to give me an arrival time and that's exactly when they showed up. I was told the move would take 8.5 hrs with 4 men, due to moving into a building with an elevator, and that's exactly the time taken. The estimate was 100% accurate and I would happily use this company again

I assisted my sister-in-law who has aphasia ( language disorder from a stroke) in finding just the right movers and so glad I chose First Class Movers, She was moving from Union NJ and I was there for the move. Curtis was EXTREMELY helpful to her answering all questions, with patience, and honoring all promises, including honoring the senior discount. There were no surprises, hidden costs or made -up fees. These guys were professional, showed up on time, neat appearance, and were very courteous. They immediately went right to work, shrink-wrapping and padding the furniture with amazing speed and care. Considering how hot it was, I was impressed with their work ethic, working quickly and efficiently without complaint. They took care not to damage the walls and laid a protective covering on the newly-installed hardwood floors. The job was finished in the estimated time approx 3 1/2 hrs. Next week will be part 2 of the move from the storage to Toms River and I will post that review as well. In addition since I will be moving from Brooklyn to Toms River, I decided to hire them for me. That move is scheduled for next week as well and I will post a review on my move as well. So far... EXCELLENT!!!

It went great. No need to look any further, these guys are professionals. Curtis is a Class A sales rep who is responsive and accomodating. The guys that move your furniture are equally professional. I was afraid that burly dredge of society (possibly out on parole) were going to show up at my door but instead 5 well mannered, uniformed gentlemen led by a foreman (Daniel) carefully packed and moved our home and worked tireless for almost 8 hours. I used them again two weeks later for a smaller move from our storage unit to our home and it was a new team who were just as professional. Great hiring guys! I will sing your praises to anyone that I know needs a quality moving company.

They were recommended by my real estate broker. The came and gave me an estimate shortly after I called. We set the moving dates but I had to change them several times as my new place was not ready. When the moving was firmed up it was the busiest time of the month yet they accommodated me. They were different than other movers in that they were willing to say if we break it we fix it not the 60 cents per pound insurance. They also were willing to they the move would not exceed their estimate by 10%. The cost of the move came in 20% below their estimate which estimate was he same or lower than estimates from other movers. I can only say good things about my experience with them.,

They came in, they packed very professional and they handled everything great. They packed everything with care. They even put runners on the floor and they cleaned up after themselves. They were very diligent and they actually got everything done. They started at about 8:30 and I would say by 12:00 they were done, which is pretty good. And I had my stuff in storage and everything was completed by 1:30, which was excellent. They moved everything. I didn't pack and I didn't move a thing in my car. They put everything in the truck. The owner of the company, Mike, called me during the moving process just to make sure everything was going OK, which I've never experienced before. And he actually came out to do the estimate and he explained to me the employee that was scheduled to come out that day couldn't make it, so he came out himself and did the estimate for me.

The packing and the move went flawlessly. Everything was packed neatly with all of the boxes appropriately marked. All of the furniture was protected and delivered with no damage. The men who did the job were very professional, friendly and helpful with their recommendations. The packing on Friday took about three or four hours but since it was a flat rate it didn't really matter. The move went very well. The workers were efficient and timely and they actually arrived at our new house at the same time we did. The entire move took about seven hours from start to finish and the final price was about $50 higher than the estimate. Overall they did an excellent job and I would recommend them to anyone else. If I had to think of one small negative it would be that some of the items that they didn't pack on Friday (the day prior to the move), we had them pack on Saturday and there was an additional charge for that (not part of the flat rate). Had we realized that we might have had them just pack everything on the Friday before the move. The price difference was nominal, about $80, but it would have been nice to know ahead of time. Otherwise, everything was excellent and I would definitely use them again
