BAY ROOFING & CONSTRUCTION CO

We had a storm where a tree took down the power lines from the house, ripping a hole in the roof. Called for a free estimate, and the gentleman came out pretty quickly....a day or two. Five or six days later, they called to tell me what the price would be. Five or six days later, I called to see if the paperwork was ready. Two days later, I went over to the company to get the paperwork. It was not ready. An hour later, I went back to sign the paperwork. The next day, they called to say that they had received the signed paperwork (!), and said that it would be done in two weeks. Three weeks later, I called to see when the work would scheduled. When the workers did the job very well, and the price was as expected, I was just grateful to be done with it. So the estimate and the actual roof work was done professionally and nicely. The paperwork part of the office there is not very responsive at all. While I feel that it was a busy time (due to the storm) and there were several holidays, I felt that the company should have said that they were too busy, or that my job was not important enough....rather than make me check on them over and over. They do a nice job on the roofing....if you have the luxury of waiting.

They are not living up to the 7 year warranty and are only willing to patch some small gaps. When it comes to the larger problems with the roof, they are not willing to take responsibility and want to charge me for a new roof. I was told by the contractor who is putting new siding on my house that my roof which is only four years old was not done well. After having some difficulty getting the owner of Bay Roofing, Steve Hennigan, to come out and see the problems, when he did come out, he said that all I needed was some small patches done. He blames all the roofing issues on the railing around the roof which I have been told by a roofing expert is unlikely. After he left, I noticed a large soft spot on the roof and a problem with the roofing material glued into the side gutter. Again, I was told by the roofing expert that this is not the proper way to install a roof and this most likely caused the rot and mold on the side of my house beneath the gutter and the soft spot on the roof which Steve Hennigan, the owner of Bay Roofing, did not notice. My contractor tried to call Steve and explain the roofing problems but he refused to hear what he had to say and ended the call after about 60 seconds. I called Steve again to come out and address these issues. I was told he was not available so I left a message. I called him every single day for a week and left messages with no returned phone calls. Finally after a week of calling he took my phone call and agreed to come out again. He came out last week (40 minutes late for the appoinment) and met with me and my contractor. He said the same things as he did the first time he came out. He refuses to admit that anything is wrong with the soft spot on the roof and the way the roofing material was installed into the gutter He will only agree to patching the few small gaps and still blames everything on the railing. He refuses to admit that anything was wrong with his work and will not honor his warranty. From the our first phone call to our last meeting, Steve Hennigan has been very unpleasant to deal with, his main mode of communication being yelling. I find his behavior very unprofessional. He takes no responsibility for his own work and blames his company's poor workmanship on everything else besides their own work. He is willing to give me a new roof if I pay for it and is not willing to honor my warranty.

They were nice guys and offer a good service.

I received three quotes all within the same price range. We were only replacing the side roof (not the flatter top portion) and looks mattered. As we began looking into nicer and higher quality shingles, Bay began to stand out in pricing. The job was performed quickly and efficently. There was an inside corner where the shingles would not meet properly and Bay took the initiative to install a piece of copper into the corner (about 10and quot;x2') at no extra charge. When the top edge shigles proved too small, they fabricated aluminum trim that ran the entire perimeter of the house at no charge. There was snow on the ground when they did the work and said they would return when it melted to perform the final search for nails. They did return.

We hired them so they are coming back within the next week. They provided one of the lowest bids and they were good across the board. I didn’t have a lot of interaction with them; they came to give us a quote, I hired them over the phone, and then they came and fixed it.

I have used them twice. I used them before and I didn't have anybody else to use so I decided to use them again. After they did the last job I felt they were a little over priced and this time I have not called them and called somebody else. I can't tell about the quality because I didn't climb up the roof and check. They were definitely responsive. They never tell you when they show up and that's the problem. If he had told me that he would be there at a specific time then I would know and wait for them but they never told me, they would always just show up. It depends on the weather too so they can't commit on a particular time or date. They were definitely professional.

They did an excellent job from beginning to the end. They were punctual and in and out. So far so good, it was just done recently. They are reasonably priced and will work with you. Some of the other companies prices were insane. From my point of view it went perfectly. I can't imagine how they got it all torn down to the boards that really needed work. I went out that morning and thought Oh My Goodness. He had his crew out and kept in touch with me. They've been in the area for a long time, this is their home. I certainly recommend them.

Called Bay roofing and 2 others for an estimate. Bay Roofing came right out for the estimate. Once we decided on Bay Roofing i called to have them go over the quote optionsand set up a date for the work. They have never called back! I have left 2 messages and spoke to the receptionist twice. Each time she gauranteed me they would call me back that day. I wouldn't bother with them again.

We contacted Bay Roofing about a small leak next to our chimney. Their professionel opinion was that the chimney flashing had to be replaced. We aggreed on a price of $1,800 and they completed the work. Bay was paid in full on completion. At the next rainstorm the same leak still existed. Bay Roofing's Rep. said, the Roof above the chimney had to be reroofed. We agreed on a price of $1,700 the work was done and Bay was paid in full upon completion. The next rainstorm the leak still exsisted. Bay has come back and patched things with variing results. We had the masonry part of the chimney rebuilt at a cost of $2,885. It still leaks.

Their availability was good and they were on time. They were nice and they called me up to let me know that the work was done. My overall experience was pleasant and I would use them again in future.

The workmanship was generally acceptable but could have been better. The garage repair was done adequately, but haphazardly. It looks like they used scrap plywood and did it in 45 minutes without careful measurement. It got the job done and is sturdy, but it could have been done better. The roofing was installed well. After the installation I had one of the owners in to point out messy areas that needed to be addressed. Mainly these consisted of areas where the black liquid tar that they used had dripped down the flashing or siding. He acknowledged what needed to be corrected, however, not all of the areas that I pointed out were corrected by the crew. Some were done partially and some not at all. I got no follow up after the crew came back to make the corrections. They never checked to see if the job was now done to my satisfaction. They just assumed it was. In addition, there cleanup job could have been more careful. The job was done three years ago and I'm still finding nails and old roof shingles in the bushes around the house. Overall, they did an adequate job but the work was a little rough around the edges and they seemed anxious to move on to bigger jobs.

After we made the initial phone contact, one of the company's owners (Steve) stopped by the home (while we were at work) and prepared an estimate. A formal quotation complete with roofing samples was dropped off a day or two later. This was followed up shortly with a personal visit one evening by Steve to discuss the quote in detail and answer any questions we might have had. We agreed to the terms and the roof was installed the following week. The crew that intalled the roof was professional, highly organized and completed the majority of the work in a single day. Care was taken to cover parts of the house, shrubs and flowers during the removal of the old shingles. The next day everything was cleaned up and all old material removed from the site The new roof looks great and I highly recommend this company.

Received several prices - Bay Roofing was close to best price but company rep was very personable so went with them. We are very happy we did as their workmen were professional - they came on time, did work quickly and cleaned up. A follow-up visit was made by owner to make sure job was done to his standard and to our satisfaction.

The experience with Bay Roofing was fine. Their prices are competetive. They are pleasant to deal with. Their work quality is good.

It went very well. They took digital photos to show me the problems they saw while they were on the roof. They quoted a much smaller job than I anticipated, and fixed it very quickly and for less than the estimate. I was worried about the overall condition of our roof, which they said looks fine(whew!). I will definitely use them again!

These guys are the real deal. One of the owners met with us ahead of time to discuss some of the special work we wanted done. They did the roof part of the job in one day and had the entire yard totally cleaned up and the dumpster removed before I got home from work. They replaced the window another day and did have to leave some of the interior trim work for a second day - but the results are simply outstanding on both parts of the job.

They did a good job and they were on time. They started the work and finished the work and it only took one day. They cleaned up after themselves and they were professional.

They were very professional. Other roofing companies didn't even come in the house to see what was affected by the leak, and they low-balled the estimate until they went up on the roof, then found lots of other things that needed to be done. Bay Roofing, on the other hand, checked the leak in the study, then checked the roof, sent a written estimate. When they came to do the work, they did it very neatly and competently. Nothing leaks any more!

THEY DID A GREAT JOB. THEY WERE PROFESSIONAL. THEY WERE VERY PROMPT. THEY STAYED FOCUSED. THEY FINISHED THE JOB AHEAD OF SCHEDULE. THEY WERE VERY RELIABLE. THEY DID A THOROUGH JOB. WE WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS.

IT WAS A PRETTY GOOD EXPERIENCE. THEY WERE REALLY PROFESSIONAL. IT GREATLY IMPROVED THE HEATING AND AIR COOLING EFFICIENCY IN OUR HOUSE. AND THEIR PRICES WERE BETTER THAN ANY OTHER COMPETITIVE PRICING.

THEY DID A FINE JOB. THEY WERE ALWAYS ON TIME. THEY HAD THE BEST PRICE OUT OF ALL THE COMPANIES THAT WE HAD LOOKED AT. THEY FIXED ANY PROBLEMS THAT WE HAD RIGHT AWAY. I WOULD REFER OTHERS TO THEM.

THIS WAS A POSITIVE EXPERIENCE. THEY DID AN EXCELLENT JOB, AND THEY WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL. THE PRICE WAS A LITTLE EXPENSIVE. THE WORKERS WERE VERY FRIENDLY. WE WOULD RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS.

THIS IS THE BEST EXPERIENCE THAT I HAVE EVER HAD WITH A CONTRACTOR. THEY SHOWED UP ON TIME AND ALWAYS KEPT THEIR WORD. THEY WERE ALSO VERY ATTENTIVE AND RESPONSIVE TO MY NEEDS.

THEY ARE ALWAYS ON TIME, PROFESSIONAL AND THEY MAKE SURE THAT THEY CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES. I WOULD USE THEM AGAIN FOR A FUTURE JOB AND RECOMMEND THEM TO OTHERS.
