The following are issues I've had after the install: 1. They did not hook up the overflow and now leaks are going through my ceiling from the attic 2. The unit is not level and therefore the overflow will never work. Instead the water builds up on one end and falls over the pan an onto my ceiling below 3. I had to provide them with wood to finish the install since they didn't have any 4. They left screws and other debris all over the place...not only in the attic but I had been finding screws for months in my yard and on my driveway 5. I am suspecting they sold me a second-rate quality unit

The repair person was nasty and unprofessional. He made me feel uncomfortable. However, He did fished the project and fixed the issue.

My Central Air Conditioning Unit stopped working and Alfano Mechanical was referred by. They said they would come out and diagnose the problem for no charge (I use to do computer repair and the business I worked for never charged separately to diagnose a problem, they just rolled that time into a diagnosis and repair charge in the actual bill). After opening up the unit, they quickly identified the problem as a bad capacitor. They quoted over $600 to fix it. But after asking if they could do any better, they gave me a Senior Citizen discount (I am 74) and an additional discount if I left a positive review. So, for fixing the A/C and putting in a part that they said had a 5-year warranty, I give them a positive review (3 stars out of 5 for their work is more positive than negative so I believe it is a net positive). I do not give them any higher review because, after I paid them the agreed upon $500 for the job, plus $30 for NJ state tax, they sent me an invoice for $1.095.11, an additional $565.11 over what we had agreed to prior to the repair and what I paid them after the repair. Their invoice did note in the fine print that I had paid them $530.00 by check. After receiving the $1,095.11 invoice, I looked up the replacement part on Amazon, AmRad brand Turbo 200 Universal Motor-Run Capacitor (they left me the box because I asked for proof of a 5 year warranty) and found the exact unit at Amazon (same box, same MFD range, what ever that means) selling for a retail price of $58.49. I have no ideal what the wholesale price of the part would be. Assuming Alfano Mechanical, of Fairfield, NJ. almost doubled the charge to me for the part to $100 (which is a generous mark-up, but I would not dispute), that leaves a charge of $400 I paid, or $965.11 they invoiced me, for what they said was no travel charge, a free diagnosis, and what turned out to be about an hour of diagnosis and repair combined. I think I would have been better paying someone $125 for a diagnosis, $150 for the less than 1 hour repair labor and even a very generous $125 for the $58.49 capacitor ($400 total, plus tax). So this is my positive review I agreed to leave them: A couple weeks after the September 16, 2022 repair I turned off my A/C for the season, and it was in working order when I turned it off. You decide if you can trust their pricing.

Needed an emergency service on my cooling unit due to a clogged drainage pipe that was spilling water through the vents and onto the floors. Contacted the folks in the morning and before lunch they had me up and running (at a more than reasonable price). Not only did their rep, Joe, quickly flush out the issue but gave me sage advice that could have saved me some money on this job. Good and honest help is tough to find so I'll definitely look to sign a maintenance deal with Alfano. Oh and the rep Gilberto talked me through many options for upgrading my unit that was definitely appreciated as well. Clearly a knowledge guy.

Good service

Super quick to respond. Came and fixed our A/C same day. The only issue was they quoted us half of what it wound up being, (they knew exactly what was wrong with the unit) and then came back 5 minutes later after writing the check to ask for more money. What?! Give a proper quote so there’s no surprises and you’ll get repeat business.

Alfano was fantastic. My A/C died last night. They were here the next morning first thing. Had it fixed in less than an hour. Technicians were friendly and explained everything. I will definitely use again and recommend!
