***DO NOT USE REINER*** I recently hired Reiner to replace and install a central air and furnace system in an older home. We got quotes from 4 different companies but decided Reiner was worth the extra money (40% more than competitors) based off the size of the company, expertise and an experienced metal shop/customizations for an older home. We were sold that the decades of experience was going to solve our air flow issues. What we got was anything but spectacular. The install took 2 days and was completed incorrectly! The installers didn't even look at the drawn up plans. So they had to completely rip out the newly installed system and reinstall being guided by a supervisor. Our a/c died in July and it took 5 weeks from signing for them to finish. I don't know if there has been a change in the company but the service we received does not match their reputation. The lack of communication between the sales, installation and service is astounding. How this company has survived so long is beyond me. Save yourself the hassle and go with someone else!

Units were tested for operating efficiency. Equipment maintenance was performed.

I contacted several HVAC contractor to give me estimates on Carrier, Amana, and Lennox. The work was to replace my old noisy 1999 York Diamond 80 furnace and some extremely loud York air condenser outside. I have 2 zones, 1 on main floor, and 1 on second floor, with a single furnace 2-damper control. The old system was noisy, and I always did not get enough cooling/heating on second floor. Out of all contractors who came to my home, only Reiner's engineer (Chris) pointed out to me that I need to open another return to help the situation. He also took time to do the proper measurement and calculate the right capacity I need for the furnace and air. Reiner cost out a Lennox system for us. Because of discount and rebate, it ended up costing about the same as another contractor who quoted me for Amana with similar configuration without the additional work on opening up another return. The engineer team who came the installation was also very professional and clean, and did a beautiful replacement to my old system. If you are looking for quality work, I recommend that you should discuss with Reiner first before you work with other contractors.

Great! Roy was a breeze to communicate with, was very informative when he came out to our home and explained every step of the process. We had other people look at what we wanted and were rude/suggested crazy things but Roy made sure that we got exactly what we needed and didn't try to "sell" us on something we didn't need.

Addressed all issues to my satisfaction

I wanted to use Reiner to service my central air-conditioner recently, but ended up using another company. I’ve been a loyal Reiner customer for 10 years. They installed my aircon/furnace and water heater ($7000 worth of business) and I have a service contract with them for my heating unit. They do excellent work, but I usually have to wait a month before they are available, whether it’s an installation or a service call. Having a service contract hasn’t helped the wait time. When I called recently to schedule an appointment, I was on hold for at least half an hour, and as usual, was informed that their earliest availability was a month away. I still made an appointment (knowing I was going to take the chance on another company) and when I called to cancel the appointment (since I found another company), I was put on hold for another 15 minutes just to cancel. In addition, the phone manners of the representatives leave much to be desired. They sound like they just don’t care about the customer. I called another company (based on good reviews from Angie’s List), was able to speak to the owner immediately (zero wait time) and was informed that they could service my aircon that same day. I wasn’t available, so I scheduled it for the next business day. I never used this other company before, but they were friendly, efficient, professional and did an excellent job. It was a totally hassle-free experience. Their rates were also cheaper. In fairness to Reiner, their technicians do an excellent job with installations and servicing (when they finally get to you). But their phone support, customer service and wait time need a lot of improvement. If I was a large account, maybe they would treat me better, but ideally, that shouldn’t be a criteria for providing good customer service.

Problem was resolved after 2 technician visits. In the first visit the tech failed to diagnose a faulty starter. They did not charge for that visit .

I had called another company to get my furnace ready to go and they said I was out of luck that I needed a new boiler. It turned out I had to put in a commercial style boiler, and that company could not do it. Reiner was top notch. The price was good, the service was good, they were punctual and professional and they did everything. They still provide my service. They did what they were going to do when they said it. Obviously I am happy with them because they still provide my annual service.

They were very professional and pleasant to work with, and did excellent work--confirmed by my local building inspector. Some unusual pieces of flue piping (direct vent) had to be back ordered and that took a couple of weeks, but they worked with me until everything worked perfectly. I especially appreciated how I only had one person with whom to communicate. They got the permits and arranged for the tank removal, making everything simple for me.

Just had top of the line Lennox equipment installed. I went with Reiner as I heard good things about them and so far (install/setup) it seems to be real. Being an engineer, I sweat the details and Reiner has been delivering even up to my expectations. Chris knows his stuff and Tim did a good job with the installation. I had a pretty old system with rusted out ducts, and we had some gremlins along the way that extended the install timeline, but nothing that could not be corrected and Reiner always took the high road and handled whatever was needed. I was unsure about the Lennox 'Ultimate Comfort System' due to the cost, but it seems to live up to all the hype and claims. And with the higher NJ and Lennox rebates and long term energy savings, the cost differential is not as high as it seems up front. Only time will tell how long the high-end (read: highly complicated) system will last, but I'm hoping that by the time the 10 year warranty expires I have saved enough to recover my total investment. Welcome to US Capitalism - nothing is made to last like it used to. Overall, I think Reiner is a good, solid company and I will sleep well at night.

Reiner and the group that came to do the work could NOT have been more professional. They did their job exactly in the time that they told me that they would. They cleaned up every evening. They solved a problem with the breaker and they sat there until the part was delivered and assured me that the matter would be resolved...and it was. I am absolutely thrilled with Reiner and the work that they did. As for the price, I got another quote for the job and Reiner was $2000 less expensive.

I would like to praise the entire staff of the Reiner Group enough for the speed and professionalism with which they came to my aid and installed a top quality air conditioning and purification system. Another company, which had originally installed my air conditioner and air purifier, and had been servicing and updating the systems for nearly 40 years (most recently replacing it in 1995), left me stranded on April 24, 2014, without any explanation. The service man was supposed to get a part for the air handler and install it by April 28th. He never came back, and my calls to the company's office and cell phones from that date to June 3rd, were never returned. This was very stressful due to the warming weather, my long-standing severe allergies, and an impending heart procedure in a hospital. | |Finally, on June 3rd, I stopped into Reiner and explained my situation to Lisa, who set up service calls. She managed to squeeze me in on June 11th, even though they were scheduling regular calls for mid-July. The service man, Jesus, was on time and courteous, and said that the air handler components had been left lying apart up in the attic. I was called the next day and told that the part was no longer being made by Lennox, and a technical engineer would come to discuss the situation with me. Roy Hulsebos came that afternoon, and went through the situation with me. I opted to replace the system, and Roy went to work trying to get the new one installed as soon as possible. My heart procedure was originally scheduled for June 17th and the system was to be installed the week after that. When the heart procedure was postponed until June 25th, Roy kept trying to speed up the installation and, thanks to some fortuitous cancellations, was able to schedule it for June 19th and 20th. | |The work was done quickly and efficiently by an excellent team (Dave Henion and Anthony Pirone), and I had a brand new system by June 20th. Roy Hulsebos was extremely helpful and friendly, checking on the progress every day, seeing to it that I got all available rebates, and keeping me informed about every aspect of the installation. Reiner handled the paper work. | |By the time I went into the hospital for my heart procedure, I had had several days of air-conditioned comfort, which put me in better shape to undergo the procedure and recuperate.

Very little consistency from one day to the next as far as workers on the job. Made some mistakes that could have been prevented if the same person stayed on the job until completion.

Reiner installed my central air several years ago. Hired them again for whole house humidifier. Entire crew - sales and installation - were very professional and courteous.

I checked the rating on Angie's List for companies dealing with A/C and heating systems, selected three companies and got three estimates. Reiner Group, Inc. The representative, Ken Lake, was very knowledgeable, and he gave me all the information I needed. Once I gave Reiner the go-ahead, they applied for the permit from the town. The permit came through on a Monday. The work was done on Thursday and Friday. I was very impressed with the quality and skill of the workers. The man in charge of the work, Anthony Gebbia, explained to me what they were doing in detail. The electrician, John, was very nice to deal with and did a great job. The cleanup was perfect. I believe I will be set for a long time regarding A/C, and I can recommend the Reiner Group as a reliable firm.

They are a very large company with many, many trucks and repair people. They do industrial, commercial and residential. We chose them because we thought they would have the know-how to do the kind of job we had and they would do it right. They did a good job in setting up the new unit and specing it out to get the proper size. They helped us to understand the pros and cons of some of the problems we had with our particular application. Our house is a relatively modest size cape and we have old ducting in the house so there was a little bit of a problem getting the proper amount of air conditioning upstairs. They made some recommendations and we decided not to go with that aspect of the job. They were very helpful and they had the experience and crews that came in and did the whole job pretty much in a day to day and a half. They cleaned up very well. They serviced and will continue to service and provide air filters and the drip that helps to humidify the air. We can drive to their company in 15 minutes. We could have probably gotten the job done for $6,000 with another company but I wouldn't have the peace of mind because of the follow up and the guarantees. They also have the ability to send over a serviceman relatively quickly. I paid a premium to get the job done right.

They did a great job from the estimate to the final installation.. Very professional and receptive to questions. The installation took a few days but they were on time and cleaned up after themselves. The town inspection went thru with no issues. I would use them again and have recommended them to others already. It was a very positive experience

Their service is very competitive, except for punctuality. They were wonderful.

Horrible, horrible, horrible! We had used a wall A/C system and wanted to upgrade to central air so we decided to make the huge purchase. We chose Reiner as they were local and had a good reputation (that was before I had Angie's List!). Well, Reiner created a central air system that IS NOT EVEN! When I pointed this out to them, they said that all they would be able to do is and quot;trial and errorand quot; of opening and closing the vents. They even had the audacity to CHARGE me for the visit to perform their ridiculous and quot;fix,and quot; which didn't change anything. I suggested they set up thermometers in each room and see how the temperature varied (up to 10 degrees difference between rooms!!!) but they said and quot;they didn't do that.and quot; I even went to their office to PLEAD for some help in getting the system to work and they said that they had done all they could do. They also said that they were unable to combine heat and A/C thermostats, so now I have the A/C thermostat in the hall and the heat thermostat remains in my master bedroom. Idiotic, all they had to do was move the thermostat from one side of the master bedroom wall to the other side of the wall in the hallway. The central A/C now costs me MORE because I still need to use the wall A/C for those rooms that don't get cool enough, AND I can't remove the wall A/Cs after all. What a waste of my money!!! I have hired another A/C company to fix Reiner's shabby work which costs me even MORE money. If I can prevent ONE family from using them I will at least feel like my terrible experience was worth it.

Reiner was professional and efficient from the get-go. Office personnel who set up the appt were pleasant and efficient, salesman Peter TenKate arrived exactly on time, and could no have been more thorough and professional in examining my old unit and then asking me questions about my needs and my use of the system. He also took measurements of my unit so he could determine what size system I would need. The very next day he emailed me several options for systems in a variety of price ranges. Then he met with me and went over the proposals, answered my questions and provided any other info I needed. When I decided on a proposal Peter helped arrange interest-free financing within a time frame I could afford and set up the two-day appointment for removal and installation. The Reiner crew arrived on time both days, were professional and friendly and very clean. Despite ripping apart pieces of the old unit and taking them down the hall and down the stairs (I am on the second floor they ) did not scratch the walls or mess up the carpeting -- or complain about the lack of an elevator. They finished on time and then had a tech come out to adjust and test the system, which works beautifully and has saved me a fortune in heating and electric bills. I was so pleased with everything, from the Reiner office staff to the salesman to the installers, that I have twice recommended Reiner to friends and neighbors. One friend had her entire home central AC done (and she has a large two-story home) and the other is a neighbor in my condo complex. Both have also been very satisified. I would not hesitate to recommend Reiner again. The company really is customer-focused, professional, friendly and very ethical. I got estimates from three other companies, in addition to Reiner, and chose them not because of price (although they were second cheapest) but because I was so impressed with the people I dealt with and their longevity in the business. .

They came out and looked at the job and said they would get back to me with an estimate and they never did. The man who came out was Chris. I called the company and told them what had happened and they told me they would look into it and call me back and they are yet to respond.

The initial visit went well. The sales person/engineer was trustworthy and precise. I had used Reiner previously and looked forward to a pain free experience. The installation work was disappointing. There were a number of mistakes made that required either a return visit or a fix that I made. I don't remember all of the problems. But here is one: I have a second furnace which was not replaced. They needed to disconnect that furnace to do their work. After the job was done, I noticed that the rooms heated by this second furnace were cold. I discovered that it was never reconnected. They returned and made it right. The installation of the ductless air conditioner went smoothly. Again, there were other unacceptable mistakes that they made but I have forgotten them. It seems to me that installation mistakes in a heating system are potentially dangerous. So I cannot give Reiner a good rating.

I called Rainer after being recommended by a few neighbors. They did warn me that they were a little over priced compared to some other local hvac companies. I had to call them five times before anyone answered the phone. They transferred me to multiple people and finally someone was able to help me. They wanted to charge me $65 just to come out and give an estimate for new duct work and then $150hr after the first hr. The price was insane for an estimate. Plus these guys used to have the maintenance contract on our house prior to us buying it. They also gave me the next available date of 7/20/12. That's almost six weeks away. I would not recommend this company based on multiple reviews on Angies list and my neighbors experiences.

They are very responsive and know what they are doing. They are a solid company. I would possibly use them again in the future.
