Installation crew worked very hard to complete the installation in a single day. We walked the property and discussed everything that was not defined in the initial plan. The final plumbing and setup steps were done quickly and efficiently. The crew tested each zone and adjusted the sprinkler heads for max coverage.

Very happy customer. Not only did Tanzer have the best price for the installation (had 3 quotes) they also had the fastest estimate to get the job done. The work was also top-notch from the placement of the system to how fast they got the job done.

I had a contact based on time and materials. They charged my credit card without my permission. They lied about the time as proven by video cameras. They upcharged the materials by 500 to 1,000%. And Greg said I was trying to shake them down. Really horrible. Be warned.

I have hired Tanzer Sprinklers for 2 jobs now. Their service is excellent. On the first job the salesman came out and had all the literature pertaining to the products he was going to install. The prices were very competitive. I had 3 estimates done. Tanzer was not the cheapest, however they were giving me the best equipment. When I asked other estimates for the exact same setup/equipment, they couldn't do better. The installation team is also excellent. They took care of my property and I got to watch them use advanced equipment for the first system install, and for the second install on our new home they had to dig trenches by hand in the rain. They did it like the pros they are. Very happy with both jobs they did and I would highly recommend them.

An amazing experience for my landscape lighting. From sales to scheduling to installation... All around a terrific experience and one that we’ve become used to with Tanzer. In the past, they've installed and modified our irrigation to perfection as well. The installers didn’t make a complete mess of the property, especially when they were digging the trenches. The sod was put back nicely, which is a HUGE deal for me. And they took their shoes off to go into the basement after working in mulch, grass and dirt. If you're looking for a landscape lighting and/or irrigation professional, they're the BEST!

Greg's staff was beyond professional. They walked me through every step of the job, were very knowledgable and courteous! They finished faster then they said and the price was under what was quoted

I called on Monday to confirm the Thursday appointment from 2-4pm. I used my last half day of vacation to be there, since it is expected to freeze this weekend. Thursday at 4, there’s no sign of them so I called and they claimed my appointment was from 3-5 and someone would be there before 5. It’s now 6pm, nobody showed, and the office is closed and not answering the phone

Very responsive and came on the day promised (although it rained most of that week). Followed up with us twice to ensure all was working correctly.

Greg Tanzer Sprinkler Inc., as the business was known in 2008, installed a 5-zone system on our property, and for the first 5 or 6 years they were good to work with. Something changed a couple of years ago, however, and their customer service has gone to ****. It was around the time the business name changed from Greg Tanzer Sprinklers to TanzInc. It now takes forever to get an appointment--IF you can even get through. They rarely answer their phones nor did they reply to several voice mails I left about the problems detailed below. They mail out postcards to contract customers with set appointment dates for turn-on and blowdown, but for emergency service, well, you're on your own, pal! Typical appointment schedule time is 1 or 2 weeks from when you call, and even longer in the spring and fall. This year (2018) on startup, the tech completely buggered up the system program, setting the unit to go off constantly for four 2-hour cycles back-to-back-to-back-to-back, and he re-set the watering schedule and start times. If he'd asked me I'd have told him to leave the timer alone. I have it set correctly for my needs. I'm on top of my equipment, but I wonder how many other customers' systems he mis-programmed, and whose lawns will be over-watered as a result. Finally, the day after he left, I noticed a significant water puddle under the backflow device and my basement had water on the floor from under the their ball valve. I guess the guy who reprogrammed my timer didn't bother to check for system leaks. The second man on the crew moved a sprinkler head over about 5 feet and did a very good job, so no complaints about him. I am NEVER doing business with Tanzer after this year's contract is over. There are many local guys without fancy trucks and likely with better skillsets. I can't speak to their new installations, and I give them props for punctuality of set appointments, but their poor customer service is the reason I'm moving my business elsewhere. The cost of service shown on this post represents an annual contract for startup, one service call, and fall blowdown, not for individual jobs or a full installation.

Avoid. Used them for spinkler installation previously. Called them for a sprinkler issue this time. I spoke with receptionist Diana, who could not give me an answer to my question and said that the techician Justin is not available either and that he would call me back. I have not heard back for a day, so called back the following morning. This time according to Diana, justin just went into the bathroom and will call me right back. Again, didnt hear back from them. Its a lot easier to get another sprinkler company than to keep calling back. So if you are looking for a responsible sprinker company, look elsewhere, sounds like they are not interested in working and I can only imagine what its like to ask them to guarantee their work if they dont bother calling back potential customers. Hope this helps others avoid bad customer service.

The price was great but precision in the installation could be improved

After the Greg Tanzer Company blew out and winterized my sprinkler system last winter my backflow preventer was leaking on multiple spots. I called them to repair or replace the leaking unit. An employee of Greg Tanzer showed up - had a quick lock at the backflow preventer unit (didn't even turn the valve on to check to leaks) and suggested a replaced because the repair kit is almost as expensive as a new unit. He did not perform any service because he did not have the parts on the truck (he said they never carry any backflow preventers or valves on the truck). This statement confused me because I told them that my backflow preventer was leaking when I made an appointment - so they knew what the problem was. The employee left without performing any service or repairs, instead they sent me a replacement cost estimate which was a whopping $589. A replacement unit of my backflow preventer model costs $150. I got other estimates from multiple plumbers which where around $390 in average for a similar replacement part and 1-1.5 hours of labor. To add insult to injury they charged me a unjustified $85 service fee for no service or repair performed. I recommend to stay away from this company. Their business practice is very unethical. Also, I was told that the leakage was probably caused by frost damage which is the result of an improper sprinkler blowout.

Called them to switch on Sprinklers in spring. Guy came and checked all said system was up and running.. Within few weeks when rain stopped our landscaper informed us to get the sprinklers checked as our lawn was becoming yellow and flower bed were dry. So called them the guy came and again checked system said its up and running, when i asked him to show me he got irritated and said i just checked and will not do it again..So Very next day I woke up at 4am to check if it was working and they did not.. Called them again and this time he tells we need to change the box.. when i questioned why he did not tell last time he did not accept his mistake.. All they are interested in charging you for each service time when i questioned since they didnot finish there work why should i keep paying he was rude and kept saying you have to pay again.. We told him to leave and said will find someone who is honest and ethical.

This was our first time having an irrigation system. On initial install the system was never set and it was watering my property multiple times at 2:00 am. We had no idea. We realized when our plants started to die. The system was not installed correctly along my driveway. They sent a technician out to assess the problem and he concurred that the system was not installed properly and that it always needed misters in that location because it was a hotspot. He wanted to charge me for the additional work. I said why should I be charged if it was their mistake. He then told me that this company hires incompetent people. It's not the same company that I initially hired. He said he doesn't care telling me because he was quitting. I called again spoke to 2 managers and they promised to fix the problem. Did I mention it costs 271 dollars!!! They can't make good on a small fix! Imagine if this was a larger system? Today a tec came out...I thought he was here to fix the problem but he was there to see what the problem was again!!! He had no clue. When I voiced my frustration he said he didn't need the stress in his life and he got in his truck and drove away. It sounds like this company is having a horrible time staffing good people. Avoid them at all cost!

They were very professional and the work was done perfectly.

He walked around the entire area in which we have the sprinklers and I was following him taking notes for my husband he was telling me exactly which sprinklers needed to be changed cause they were broken. We had one broken because of the tree root. There were some in the backyard. He is the only one who actually walked around and tested all of the sprinklers. He was thorough. He was clean. He was accurate. He gave us information that we needed. He was very thorough in his job and I was very impressed. Also, he gave us some advice on the sprinkler by the tree. He said if you want me to fix that sprinkler it will cost big bucks and I can’t guarantee because of the tree roots. You would be better off putting it on the corner of the front yard and having that sprinkler go over. That no matter what you do over the years it completely has been killing the pipe. They’ve been raising the sidewalk. He said no it isn’t a good idea. He was phenomenal. I know my husband is planning on calling him back again because now we need to update the box that controls the sprinklers. Jerome also said there was a pipe of something that was leaking near it. Originally he said don’t call us in and you can go and take it to the plumbing section and buy the part. The part is minimal, but you will pay $300 for the labor.

They capped the back spout even though we shut it off in the house. We were impressed with Jerome professionally and personally. He is a good man.

It was something my husband would not do on his own. He did what needed to be done.

My husband handled this one. It was a simple procedure. They didn't really do anything else because what we wanted done we were going to wait until spring.

It went very well. When they came out here, they asked me if I had any questions. It was good. They were here on time. They did what was advertised. They asked if I had any questions upfront.

Good, but not comfortable with the pricing and charges. Something was amis there. As a result, I was reluctant to have more work done. The company representative was skilled, helpful, and pleasant .... but the charges didn't match the paper work and changed at the very end. Odd,

Went great! Going with a different company since these guys seem to make enough money ripping people off that they never even returned my call. Bad business.

He did this for two years in a row, and it didn't work the second year. He sent me a contract and it was for a large sum of money and not what I wanted.

I was very satisfied with the installation. The workers arrived on time, worked efficiently, and from all indications the installed product is of high quality. The supervisor was extremely helpful with the planning and managed the job well. He responded quickly when I notified the company a few days after the installation that some adjustment was needed on three of the sprinklers. The supervisor, workers, and the office staff that I interacted with were professional in every way. I would not hesitate to recommend this company.
