Went very well. Service arrived on time, understood the repair and finished in a professional manner.

. Same day I ran dishwasher and it leaked. I popped off front panel and could feel it leaking. I ordered valve off the internet myself and had a friend put it on. It cost me about $50.00. If I had A-1 come back I would have been over $315.00 for this repair not to mention the time involved with two repair visits.

Work went great, they weren't able to fix my microwave or washing machine, but diagnosed them and advised me to get new ones because the cost would be more to fix. Also advised me on how to redeem my warranty for both. Dryer was fixed in a timely manner, very punctual, friendly, and professional. Highly reccomend them to anyone and would definitely use again for any appliance issue.

I left a message on the company answering machine. My call was returned within the hour. A Serviceman was able to come the same afternoon. Very professional and organized. He diagnosed the problem within 10 minutes. He had the parts on hand and the stove was fixed and cleaned within 15 minutes. The price was very reasonable. Excellent service.

The dryer on our 17 year old stacked washer/dryer stopped working. My phone call to the answering service was returned within an hour, and an appointment made for the following day. I worried we'd have to replace the machine. Instead, we were given a clear explanation for the very-solvable problem. The work was completely promptly and the price was very reasonable. The next day, in trying to use the washer, the water would not come in. A call to the company brought the repairman back rapidly. In moving the machine, a wire had been dislodged; it was repaired rapidly with no extra charge. The work was professional, courteous, efficient and responsible. I'd definitely use them again.

I called A-1 and made an appointment. They gave me a 2 hour window and called when they were on their way. They quickly identified the problem, and said that they would need to order the replacement for my dryer's heating unit. The called the next day to say the part was in, and came that afternoon to fix the machine. Very profesisonal, very nice, very reliable repairmen.

They were prompt. They returned calls and they showed up on time. The appliance isn’t fixed yet; the work is not done yet.

Great service! Had an emergency and they were at the house first thing in the morning after I called. Would absolutely use them again!

I called A1 appliances because they had good reviews on Angie's list and because they were located next town over. Got response back from Michael in a few hours (it was a Saturday). A1 works with ALL brands of appliances, including LG (which is what I have), which not all companies do. He sent his son Jeff out the next morning (Sunday!) to fix it. Jeff called at 8:30 am as was promised and appeared at my door very promptly within an hour of the call, as he promised. He determined in seconds that motor for the drain needed to be replaced, had the part on him and fixed it in a matter of 30 minutes. Jeff was very professional and answered all my questions about appliances even unrelated to the problem at hand. I am very happy with the service and would definitely use A1 Appliances again for all my repairs!!!!! Prices are reasonable too.

cleaned up behind called and left a message on the 11th. Received a call back with in an hour. We discussed the problem. He said he''ll call before 8 am the next day. he did. we picked a time to meet. he was on time. He diagnosed and repaired the problem quickly and also cleaned up behing my dryer. Service !was A1 quality..excellent experience.!

I contacted the service and they were very cordial and helpful. I was able to provide responses to very clear questions. The response time was at my convenience, a service call on a Sunday which was incredible.

Our refrigerator fan wasn't working, so we called on friday and someone came early sunday. He was fast and knowledgable and had the part we needed in his van. Had a working fridge 30 minutes later and we were happy we didn't have to spend money on a brand new fridge. Probably only a $60 part, and we paid $278 total, so we were a little bummed that it was something we could have done on our own. But, it was money well spent to have a working fridge. I would use them again since they knew what they were doing, the price was fair, and they didn't try to sell me anything extra.

I made a call, an appointment was made for first thing the next morning; the technician was prompt and helpful. I honestly don't have anything to compare it to, but I did thing the service call fee was a little high. Still, I imagine that is the industry standard.T

My dryer had worked flawlessly for 14 years until it stopped. I feared having to replace it, but thought it worth getting an estimate first. A-1 had good marks in Angie's List, so I tried them first. Was delighted with the result. The business is a family enterprise, and the owner quickly scheduled an appointment to meet my schedule?but then asked whether I would be available that day should he get a cancellation and have an opening. I was. Before I knew it, Adam called to booked time a few hours later. He showed up promptly as promised, diagnosed the issue quickly and assured me the dryer was well worth repairing (that it had another 10 years of life left, in fact). He then proceeded with the repair even while dealing with my banter and questions. He was done within an hour and the dryer has worked well since. All in all, I was delighted with the promptness and thoroughness of the service and won't hesitate to call on A-1 again.

Our dryer (4 years old) was not heating up. When I called A-1 to schedule the appointment, I was told that the service call was $89, which I agreed to pay.After 30 minutes at our house, and determining that the heat safety had been tripped, the technician told me that we should have someone out to look at our vents, there was nothing he could do. He put the vent back in its place, and handed me a bill for $144.45.I explained that I was told a service call was $89, and he replied that a service call only included 30 minutes of his time, including driving time to get to the house! None of this was explained when I made the appointment. And I find it very strange that your time for the service appointment is dependent on how far away his last appointment was.He then said that it was "extra work" because it was a stack dryer, so I was paying extra for that. Again, I told him that was something that should have been explained when booking the appointment, or at least before he tacked on the extra charges.$144.45 later... no working dryer, and only a recommendation to have someone else come out. I felt like they took advantage in their billing

We called for service on our over the stove microwave. The tech called at the time he promised, showed up when he promised. He had to take the unit with him to do the service, and returned in promptly and again at the promised times. Only slight irritation was that he quoted 250 - 300 then wrote "about 300" on the receipt for the deposit we gave. The final bill was 330 (300 + tax and shipping.) All in all a good experience.

diagnosed the issue well, ordered the part for the rage, replaced the part. he had to come back because the part had to be ordered. the install took about 15 minutes. overall the job too about 45 minutes. he explained everything. my only issue was that i think they are really overpriced. make sure you look at reviews for other contractors before you decide. also keep in mind that the price they quote on the phone is to have the guy give you an estimate only (ie service call).

When I tried to use the microwave, it did not work. I cook a lot using the microwave and would be lost without it. I called A-1 immediately and he responded quickly, advised me what was wrong, gave me the cost of repair. When I agreed, he repaired it immediately on site. Fast service...which is not the case with many contractors.

I very much liked them. They are very good. They are so prompt, professional and courteous. They have always solved the problem. They are so much better than the average. They are fantastic. Half of the places you look up can't even be bothered to come out to your house and if they do they are rude. These people are the best that we have ever had.

I called on Friday afternoon, and was told I would get a call at 8 am on Sunday telling me when they could be out. Sure enough, at exactly 8 am, I got a call saying he would be at my home within the hour. It's now 9:15 and my dryer is repaired WITH a detailed explanation of what the problem was, and for a very, very reasonable price. I am very happy with this service; he will now be my 'go to' guy for all appliance repairs.

We called about an ice cube maker that was leaking and quit.....we had company at the time for a couple of weeks. They bent over backwards to come the same day, left and got the part and fixed it promtly. They were neat and clean and helpful. This is the second time we have used them adn are very happy with their service and would use them again.

The repair man was professional, punctual, very efficient! It was a very good experience, we would use their service again without reservation!

Our dryer hadn't been working correctly since we purchased it (new) over a year ago. The unit retained moisture and took approximately 3 hours to dry a single load. We called a warranty repairman within the year we bought it. He only inspected the unit and components and determined it was heating and working properly. Since we continued to have the same problems and the unit was now out of warranty, I called an appliance repair service from Angie's list. The service tech inspected the unit (which was determined to be working properly) and crawled out onto the roof to inspect our exhaust. Although there were no obstructions (birds nests/debris) he removed the metal flap from the exhaust and told me I should buy a long wire brush to remove the lint that was likely stuck in the unreachable parts of the exhaust. The dryer worked slightly better but the issue resumed within a couple weeks. Having cleaned the exhaust myself and knowing there were no obstructions on the rooftop exhaust, I reached a dead end and decided to try a different service provider (A-1 Appliance) last week. I called and left a message on 02/06/12 and Adam returned my call within 2 hours. We made an appointment for the following day. Jeff arrived and when I described my problem did the standard checks - lint screen, exhaust hose. He removed the top panel of the dryer, removed the exhaust from the dryer and determined that the igniter & flame were working properly and that the dryer was heating accordingly. He then used forced air to see whether or not the lint was flying out of the dryer exhaust on the roof. When he did this, there was more water than lint coming out. He then asked if I had a screen in the rooftop exhaust. I explained that the last provider removed the flap but did not inform me I also had a screen. (I should mention that the location of the rooftop exhaust is on a sloping, third story roof and very difficult to access via the third story window). Nonetheless, Jeff was able to determine that I did have a screen and that the likely cause of my issue was due to wet lint clogging the screen; this was the cause of the residual moisture in my dryer and its inability to completely expel heat. He suggested I call a handyman to remove the screen but reinstall the flap (since the flap works like a one-way check valve and will keep debris out). I was very satisfied with the explanation and efforts to resolve the problem and am currently looking for a reputable handyman to finish the job.
