Len's Remodeling & Contracting Services

Work was performed by one of Len's employee's and was done very well. He had an attention to detail and was easy to work with when you pointed out small issues which were corrected immediately.

They came and in a few hours quickly removed the entire mirror from wall. They were fairly clean and I didn't have any troubles with the company.

Len is always professional, thorough, and neat in his work. He arrived promptly at the scheduled time. He had already planned what materials he would need when he provided us with the estimate, so that he would have what he needed to do the work. He took time to explain what he was going to do, and he worked carefully and efficiently to replace the faucet and pipe. He used quality materials and did not "cut corners" but did the replacement "the right way." He was respectful of our home and our time, and his prices are very reasonable. He is an excellent handyman. We wholeheartedly recommend him, and we will definitely use his services again.

This was the first time I used this contractor and was very satisfied with their services. The job was done exactly as requested and in the time frame promised. I thought the pricing was fair, as well. Workers were neat and prompt. One small patch of paint needed touch up which we didn't notice for 2 months. The contractor gave us no problem in coming back at that point and doing the patch work.

After Len's initial visit to my home when I discovered he wouldn't do the drywall, I called someone else. That person came to my house 2 days later and completed the drywall in 6 hours. He came back the following day for 1 hour to spackle a second time and returned for 30 min. the third day for a final sanding. He charged me $450. So I proved to myself that I was not making an unreasonable request for the price that I had paid for Len's Deal. The gentleman from Len's arrived on time. I told him the closet door could be discarded, but I wanted to keep the old bedroom door. He installed those 2 interior doors with no problems except that he discarded both doors. The storm door was a different matter. I had thoroughly researched the door before purchasing it and the instructions said it would take approximately 2 hours to install. However, the people who left comments on the internet stated that the instructions were very easy and only took them about 1 1/2 hours to install. The gentleman from Len's took almost 3 hours to install the storm door and it doesn't close tightly. He then started to install the molding in my room, but said that he couldn't possibly finish the job that day and that he would do as much as he could. I saw he was doing such a terrible job, that I told him it was alright to just leave and not do any more. All of the garbage from the job was left at the curb. That included the cardboard box the storm door came in, the old metal storm door, 2 wooden doors, and scraps of wood from the frames. The next day was Halloween and I was afraid kids would trip over all of that in the dark. Also the garbage men won't take metal or cardboard. I had to move everything myself so I could get to the wood scraps on the bottom of that pile and put them in my garbage cans. The cardboard box had to be cut up for recycling. Lastly, I had to get a kid in the neighborhood to carry the wooden door I had told him I wanted to keep back into my house.

I hired Len's Handyman to remodel my only full bathroom. The whole process before hand was somewhat easy. I picked out a bunch of items with his contact at Lowe's and visited several tile places recommended by him but ended up getting the tile myself. The price included the cost of the bathtub, shower doors, 2 medicine cabinets, a vanity cabinet, fixtures, toilet, moulding plus all the raw materials. The construction started about 2 weeks late which was a little disappointing but I know this is common. We had everything out and the shower back and working within 5 days which was important. The work those days went relatively smoothly and there were no unforeseen issues. Then we waited for the granite company to install the countertop and the rest of the work was completed. The guys were very neat for the most part. There were a few details that were overlooked that we had to point out to them such as a couple small spots missing moulding, a couple small holes above the where the medicine cabinets were put in, and some slightly crooked towel bars. Matt was the main person there the whole time and he fixed all those issues with no problem. We did end up having a leak from upstairs toilet line into the downstairs bathroom during this time. When it first happened, Len sent Matt out on a Saturday to check it but it had stopped leaking at that point. It started leaking very bad a week later and Len sent a plumber out on a Monday who had to open up the ceiling to see what was going on. It turned out to be an error on their part which was fixed but after the beams dried out, they came back and patched up the ceiling after the job was done. They just have to come back to finish mudding at this point. There was also a mistake I made in getting shower doors that were too low. I was able to buy new shower doors and they switched them out for me at no additional cost. Overall communication was very good and I was able to easily reach Len and Charlie the project manager when I needed to. This was really important to me. All the guys were very friendly and I had no problems having to leave them in my house when no one was home. They were also very friendly and easy going with my dogs. I'm very happy with the finished project and love my new bathroom. I would definitely work with them again if I do another remodeling project.

From the start, Len was very helpful and involved with the design. He was not only interested in providing an updated design, but also made suggestions to help save money on the project. Work began on the day he committed to, and was extended a bit as we added some new items as we moved through the work. Len kept us updated and was always available to answer questions, and his foreman Charlie and staff were all helpful and pleasant to work with. We completely renovated the kitchen (hardwood floor, quartz countertop, cabinets, all appliances, recessed lighting) and did all 3 bathrooms (ceramic tile, vanities, painting, new lighting and fans, etc.). They were able to expand the size of the shower in the master bath which came out great. We picked out all the lighting, mirrors, towel racks, etc. and were able to specify where they went. Len provided lots of samples for the hardwood floor, carpet and ceramic tile and we were able to select exactly what we wanted. The hardwood floor was damaged in one room and Len replaced it immediately without us having to ask. They also painted the entire interior including the garage, and we selected 3 different colors in various areas. All interior doors and molding were replaced which totally modernized the look. We decided to add a new front door and sliding door to the deck which he gave us very good pricing for. They did find some carpenter ants in one small area and he brought in an exterminator right away. They also powerwashed and sealed the deck, which was not in the original plan. We bought blinds and shades and he offered to install them for us as well as new lighting and a ceiling fan. Overall, we are extremely pleased with the work Len and his crew did. The house looks great and if you find any issues they will address them right away. It was a big project, and Len coordinated the whole thing which involved carpentry, electrical work, plumbing, painting, flooring, etc. The work took a bit longer than originally planned, but we added several items as we proceeded. I have already recommended Len to a friend who wants to redo her kitchen, and would use him again.

The work included carpet and laminate removal in three rooms and two hallways. Complete gutting of kitchen and replacement of new cabinets, countertops, creation of breakfast bar, lighting, plumbing and structural opening of wall and removal of some. The work took about 6 weeks with the largest time consumed with the templating and manufacturing of the countertops. The workers were excellent,extremely professional and trustworthy, this includes the foreman, mechanics and helpers.. They solved multiple problems encountered when the walls were opened including adding a micro beam to carry the weight for the wall removal. Following is a list of the type work involved with this remodel: demolition Flooring cabinet installation electrical Plumbing Painting Custom air venting electrical and wire runs for TV wall installation So far Lens's has done 2 bathrooms, kitchen and hardwood floors along with some small items such as shutters install and wall mounted TV install. Len came and examined what I wanted done. Estimate was totally outrageous. Had several other estimates and Len was 6x one estimate, 2x another and 3x last estimate. This tells me he didn't want to do the job. I will not be calling him again.

All work was performed in a straightforward and professional manner. One of the door sweeps I had purchased was incorrect so he went on to something else while I got the correct one. I would definitely use Len's Handyman service again and would ask specifically for Chris to do the work.

The job was done within the time and cost estimated. The work is beautifully done. Len was impressively responsive to any questions or concerns about details and all interactions with him and his crew demonstrated their professionalism and courtesy. Based on our experience with these two jobs, we will definitely call him for all future remodeling needs.

Len gave us some good and honest advice on our project. Although he declined our project because it is out of scope of their usual service, from our limited interactions, we consider him professional and trustworthy.

We began this project back in April. Len came to our home where we discussed what we were looking to have done in detail. This was fairly time consuming as we were looking to gut the kitchen and bathrooms completely as well as have work in just about every area of our house. Len gave us all the time we needed, offered many good suggestions, and worked with us to keep us within our budget. When all was said and done, the estimate Len provided to us was what we ended up spending. I am very happy about this, especially after hearing stories from others about how much over budget they've gone with a project like this. The start of construction was a few days behind schedule; as was the completion of the project but Len and his crew were very good about making sure they took care of all of our needs. The entire project took roughly 8 weeks. Making things a bit more complicated was that we lived on our home with our two children, two dogs, and a cat throughout the renovation. This was not easy as we do not have a garage nor a basement; so after emptying every cabinet and every closet things got a bit cramp to say the least. Len's crew was good about working around where we had to live and eat. Each day they would ask if we would like anything moved before leaving and were good about cleaning up after themselves as well. Our main concern throughout the project was the care for our pets and keeping them safe and out of the way of the workers. There were many days (especially as we got into September) where we couldn't be home to look after them. I can't speak highly enough of Steve and Andrew who made sure they were well taken care of. With all the strange faces in the house our smaller dog was a bit nervous and having accidents here and there (although Len's guys may argue I should use the word "everywhere"). Steve and Andrew didn't hesitate to clean up the mess and my family and I are very grateful for how our pets were treated by all of Len's guys. Steve was even happy to exchange text messages with me while I was at work letting me know how they were doing. I also have to highly praise Suzanne Prouty who Len set us up to work with over at the Kitchen Design Center at Lowes in Marlboro. Suzanne was extremely helpful, full of great ideas, and always very quick to respond to any calls or emails. She was even over to our home to drop off samples and wanting to see how the place was coming along. She was truly interested in making sure we were happy. Overall, there were a few bumps in the road along the way as can be expected with such a large project. Len was always very responsive and quick to make sure any issues we were experiencing were quickly correct. Also helping us get through the renovation was Charlie (Foreman). Charlie is well respected by all Len's crew and saw to it that we were happy with everything that was being done. He was good about communicating with us and seeing to it that we were able to get our home back to normal as soon as possible. I would definitely use Len again and would recommend him to friends and family.

Everything went very well and he was very accommodating and we were very satisfied. It was nice doing business with him.

Len was on-time for the estimate. He went through the place with us as we explained what we wanted done. He pointed out one thing we wanted done that was not necessary and one thing we could easily do ourselves (which we did). We explained our time frame, and Len felt he could make our dates. It took a few days longer than expected to get the final quote, but Len's crew started right on time and they made our schedule so we could move in when we wanted. Romas was the main worker and he was meticulous especially with the painting. Everything looked great when they were done.

Len's guys gutted our master bathroom to the studs and expanded it by taking some space from our closet so we could fit a larger shower stall and vanity. They also installed another outlet, fixed our skylight, painted and installed a closet organizer for us to make better use of our closet. The title work they did was great and cleaned up after themselves everyday. We are thrilled with the outcome and have already emailed Len to ask about installing a fan in one of our bedrooms. Would definately recommend him.

They did a good job. But, I felt the coordination was not good. They lacked in communication and they need to be supervised.

Len arrived on time to provide me a cost estimate of the work to be completed. He had several suggestions that would allow enlarging the shower by adding a bench seat and a recessed shelf niche. The estimate was $5k-$7 depending upon tile selection & permits. April 14th the contract was signed a $3,500 deposit paid. The work was supposed to take 7-10 days for removal of existing tile, toilet, and shower tile and replacement with new floor tile, toilet, tile surround, and framing of new bench & shelf niche, and painting. Unfortunately the work was not completed until May 15th. The quality of the work was very good. My only issue was poor planning of the project. Building permits were only requested 1 week prior to job start rather than when the deposit was paid and it was clear that permits were required. That resulted in the bathroom taking longer to finish than the time it took for my entire kitchen renovation. The work is quality, and I would be likely to hire Len again, but with the requirement that any needed permits are applied for within 5 working days of receiving the deposit.

was unable to use lens handymen service at this time due to my booking request, but the response rate to my email was exceptional! he called me almost immediately after I sent an email request through angies list and was very professional and honest during our conversation regarding scheduling possibilities. I would definitely consider trying to contact them again in the future when my time restrictions are not a pressing. it is rare that a contractor even returns your call and their response was amazing!

One of the greatest stresses of doing a renovation or remodel is working with a contractor that might show up on time, that might show up at all, that might take a large deposit from you and you never hear from them again. None of these stresses exist if you have Len?s Handy Man as your contractor. Len showed up for our initial consultation exactly on time and provided me with an estimate that included budget for the purchase of new fixtures, tiles, accessories etc. The budget he presented was fair. He hooked me up with a designer that he works with at a local home improvement store. She was wonderful and I had a good feeling about having Len remodel my bathroom after she told me that she will also be using Len for some work around her house. The renovation team showed up exactly on time, no surprises or disappointments. All of Len?s workers were experts at what they do. I had a bathroom gutted and remodeled from top to bottom. The work they performed was absolute perfection! They took great care to ensure that all of the work was top notch. The work was very clean. The end product was even better than I could have imagined. During the renovation, I was informed of exactly what was going on at all times. The team never showed up late, not even a few minutes late. All in all, Len?s team made what could have been a very stressful situation into a great experience. As a result, I will be using Len?s Handy man to remodel my kitchen later on this year.

I felt very comfortable, its like dealing with friends, I was sure its gonna get done, the people he sent were perfect, it went very well and I did get the name on Angie's list.

They arrived on time and performed all of the work in 2 days. They were professional, and listened to what we wanted to have done, and helped us to find solutions which fit our needs. We had 2 large wire storage bookcases in the basement and because my husband works down there, I wanted to cover the contents with a curtain for when he had web conferences. The shelves were over 18 inches deep and I couldn't figure out the best way to attach the brackets to hang the curtains other than with spacers. They installed the spacers and the rods so I could hang the curtains across, and it looks great. Additionally, we wanted to cover our fuse box with a door, so they attached and painted a door. I don't know that I would recommend them for painting again, as I believe a professional painter would have done better, but for all of the other solutions we needed, they were great. We are even considering them for more work in the future with some items around the house which were done badly by other handymen. Would definitely recommend them to others.
