BenHersh Rug Cleaning & Repair

I called BenHersh and arranged a pick up of my carpet, but that day came and went and they did not show. When I called the next day, the owner apologized and said he had made a mistake, and offered $30 credit and a new date for pick up. We agreed, and from that time on he dealt with my husband. He picked up the carpet on the next agreed upon date. Once back at the plant, they accessed the extensive moth larvae damage and called with the quote, recommending the moth treatment and a repair estimate for the damage. He said his craftsmen could make the carpet look new again. We agreed to both. I am definitely a carpet novice...when the carpet was returned, the repair amounted to a re-coloring of the moth eaten areas, not a replacement of the fibers. I was not there at the time. We were definitely surprised and disappointed at this. BenHersh did not explain what he meant by repair, and no options were presented such as lower cost repair versus higher cost fiber replacement. We expected the carpet to be restored. So if I got what I paid for, then the dyeing of the fibers appears to be a good job. The carpet is clean, and moth and odor free. So, the overall experience was not completely what we expected, but again this was my first time, so I maybe it was exactly has it should be. If I was directly involved, I would have asked more detailed questions. My husband said they were friendly and professional to deal with.
