+ -1 moreI highly recommend Allstate. I had a brand new AC system installed, duct work, all up in a hot attic. Allstate’s price was the best around and was able to do it within a few weeks which was a plus. On the day of the install Eugene and Kirk went over everything in terms of vent placement and any questions I had. They notified me of any issues and what are the possible solutions and let me choose. Eugene was awesome and his crew were all very nice and cleaned up after themselves. They got the job done in one day which was amazing, very hard working crew. The system works amazing and I’m glad I went with Allstate.

+ -1 moreKirt came and located and fixed the issue very quickly. He replaced "run capacitor" in the condenser and AC started to work again. Before him, the other company said the whole system needs to be replaced. I am very happy that he can fix it in a very low cost. I wish he can be more friendly but be able to fix issue is more important.
Description of Work: AC is not working. Condenser could not be turned on.

+ -1 moreFred Werner came to my home back in October of 2016 and ultimately provided a proposal for 2 complete Central AC systems. He was ultimately hired and that may have been the worst choice I have EVER made in my life. They installed the system in December and told me we had to wait until spring to start it up because the temperatures were too low. April came and he had a technician come and after 2 exhausting days, he was still unable to get any of the units running. They claimed that the boards were fried, the float switches were no good, the thermostats are faulty, and they believe there is a short in the system. (Both systems are faulty?) After all is said and done, I had to hire a different (qualified) contractor to fix the systems. Watch out for FRED!! Don't hire them. These guys couldn't coordinate a barbecue.
Description of Work: Entirely replace 2 - 20 year old central AC units with brand new Trane systems.

+ -1 moreThe guy went to the attic and spent 5 min cleaned up the clogged tube. Then he said the work is done and water is coming out now. I went out and checked the drain tube on gutter. There is no water coming out! He then did more clean up on the tube. He was so eager to leave while he was doing the clean up he asked his assistant to start the car engine.

Description of Work: The installers were wonderful. The salesman at first seemed honest and helpful. After I signed things turned ugly. He misrepresented the money I would get as a rebate from Clean Energy. That rebate was subtracted in the contract. He put the wrong information on the application to the state and i did not get the whole rebate. The product is great. Watch out for Fred.

+ -1 moreFrom our first meeting with Freddie, one of the owners of Allstate Air Conditioning and Heating, we were impressed by both his product knowledge and also of our particular needs. He informed us that not only does he live in our neighborhood, but he also grew up in a similarly configured house. He recommended a dual-stage unit which was a modest increase above the single-stage unit that will allow us to recoup that difference in a few years, but also suggested an attic fan. There is a rebate program for the fan that will allow us to regain almost the entire cost of that unit. We contracted with Allstate on a Friday, and they were on the job the following Tuesday. They brought a team of 6 workmen that were very professional and thorough. They started at 8 AM, and by noon had the old unit completely removed and were installing the new one. Part of our agreement was that they would move a thermostat from a separate heating and cooling zone in my house that was improperly placed in my kitchen by another vendor to the master bedroom where it belonged. They came up with an elegant and nearly invisible solution to a longstanding problem. Before they left my home they did a thorough cleanup. All in all I cannot recommend them highly enough, and I have no reservation using them in the future.

Description of Work: My history with Allstate began last year when I placed an emergency call due to my air handler leaking water. Allstate responded right away and sent a service tech to my home that day. They replaced the part that was leaking and performed a thorough PM on the entire unit. I was thrilled with their response time and wonderful service. So, when my 30-year old air handler finally died, I called Allstate right away for an estimate. Fred from Allstate arrived at my home and gave me a fair assessment of what I would need to replace it and the cost associated with it. I had requested if Allstate could put a rush on the installation since I was leaving for vacation in one week and wanted to have the job completed before I left. I realize it was a lot to ask in the middle of the summer! But, Fred said that he would do the best he could to get the unit delivered in time. Unfortunately, the unit arrived damaged. However, Fred knew my urgency with having the installation completed before vacation, so he placed the call for rush delivery on a new unit. With one day to spare, the HVAC service technicians arrived with the new unit. The installation was not easy. I have a two-story condo with a spiral staircase and the unit is located in a utility closet upstairs! The three gentlemen took such great care with dismantling the old unit and carting it out down the treacherous staircase! Then, they hoisted the new unit carefully up the railing to the second landing. They took all the appropriate precautions to ensure that my floors, railings and upstairs carpet were protected throughout the process. This did take most of the day to complete and, due to the time constraint, they were unable to hook up the heat pump. However, we agreed to have them return when I arrived back from my vacation. As promised, Eugene, returned and finished the job as promised. I cannot commend Eugene enough on the terrific and thorough job that he did. Not only did he complete the job meticulously and attentively, he was an absolute pleasure to work with. I realize that there is one rating for this company on Angie's List that unfortunately paints a rather bad picture. But, from my perspective I cannot honestly see anything negative about Allstate Air Conditioning and Heating. They totally honored everything they said they would do and even went above and beyond to make sure that I went on vacation with peace of mind. I highly recommend this company.

+ -1 moreWe encountered issues with the A/C not cooling the house, running out of coolant. We contacted Allstate and the lead tech, Kirk came up and ran dye through the system free of charge since this was an ongoing issue on a less than 5 year old system. About a week later Kirk came back out and found that a nut was loose on one of the main pipes in the attic. Kirk tightened the nut - checked the rest of they system (inside and out) and was confident that this was the source of our leak and also assured us that we should no longer have any problems. Kirk was very professional and apologetic that we had to deal with this problem and assured us that they will stay on top of it. We are very happy that they stood behind their workmanship and took care of us right away.
