One Star because – when Stanley Steemer ruined our 6’x14’ fine wool rug, they handed over the case to their Insurance Adjuster, rather than taking responsibility themselves for the replacement. Background: Previously, we had recently used Stanley Steemer on two occasions where the work was perfect. Therefore, we were quick to call them to remove a few mud footprints on our hall rug. All seemed well, and the rug was cleaned. I paid over $600 for the service at that time. However, the rug would not flatten out; ripples persisted. SS came back and took the rug to their NY workroom where the final restitution did not succeed. We were told the rug was irreparably damaged. I cannot vouch for how the rug became damaged … too much steam? I do not know. I just know that Stanley Steemer washed their hands of the incident, turned it over to an insurance adjuster, and moved on without being supportive of a loyal customer. I spent almost 2 months haggling with their adjuster about what was fair & right because of Stanley Steemer’s carelessness. I got nowhere. The adjuster was not going to give us the replacement cost for our very fine rug. Although the rug was 9 years old, it was in perfect condition and would have lasted us a lifetime. I provide this information for your consideration only. Be alert – Accidents can happen and when they do, you want to be dealing with a company that will not run away from their customer obligations. Stanley Steemer’s services are broad; their work can be superb; but accidents can happen, and that’s when you want SS taking full responsibility for any incurred damage. Otherwise, you will be left like we were – receiving a pittance from their insurance adjuster for a very big blunder. We live in Princeton, NJ.

The carpet cleaning was done professionally and to my satisfaction. The technicians we had were Cesar and Hector, both polite, friendly, courteous and professional. I had used this company in the past but the service received today from these two was outstanding. Thank you

I've been using them for about four years. The technicians are very nice, their thorough. They've been an A so far but last time I noticed some stains they didn't get, they weren't any major stains, they were very simple stains that they didn't get them. Other than that I've had a very good experience with them. I'm not as picky as some people are if those stains are still there. They have a central service where they do the reservations and give you a call before they come.

I have used them 3 or 4 times and they have done a pretty good job for us and they are reasonable priced. It was about $300. They do a good job. The workers are professional and they always wear something on their feet. They make sure they keep the place clean.

I made an appointment and was told they would not come before a certain time per my request. I specifically asked to have the operator verify that my account was noted. They told me it was not a problem and my account was noted. On the appointment date, I left work early and got home before that time, only to find a note on my door saying they were there 30 minutes prior to the scheduled window, and had they had left. I called and asked why they had come before the time scheduled and noted on my account. They said in a rude tone, "yeah well, that's not guaranteed". Either is my future business with you. I am going to now schedule with a local carpet cleaning service who will care about local reviews.

They are flat out criminals. This is the second time we have had an issue. They quoted us a price over the phone then the tech arrived and told us the master bedroom did not qualify as wall to wall carpeting because we have a 3 inch wood barrier around the wall so instead of $70 it would be $1,000 to clean the room. This had already been clarified when we got the quote. We said no to cleaning that room and he slowly lowered the price until it was $400. After still declining to have that room cleaned he told us we had done $650 of work so far and he would charge $900 total for the room and deodorizing for everything. We did not need deodorizing but at least the cleaning would be $250. When he gave us the receipt he written up $340 for deodorizing and $100 for the master bedroom. This was a rip off. We could have paid what we were quoted for the bedroom of $100 and not gotten the deodorizing and paid the original quote. He lied to us. How can he tell us the room is $1,000 than only charge $100 after tricking us into paying for another service we did not want. The cleaners are on commission and are incentivised to lie their way into additional work. I would never trust this company.

All the stains were removed.

brought in industrial fans, humidifiers, vacuums. dried and repaired where there was drywall damage. Essentially saved the basement, which was a finished basement.

The carpets now look like new.

I've had very good experience with this provider. the office staff are professional, courteous and generally helpful in setting up appointments. The technicians they sent, Kemaj and Hector were polite, and professional. they did a good job cleaning my off white carpet which had not been cleaned in a while. The difference was immediately visible.

I utilized Stanley Steemer to clean the white wall to wall carpet in two rooms of my condo. The overall carpet was somewhat dirty, and there was a VERY dirty traffic pattern. Two gentlemen from SS assessed the area needed cleaning, recommended the best services they had to offer (cleaning, protection, deodorizing) and then proceeded with the services I chose. The carpet looks like new. The traffic pattern was completely removed. They were quick, thorough, and courteous. I could not be happier. I will have them back for the next cleaning.

My carpets hadn't been cleaned in 2 years and were seriously dirty. The two gentlemen who came out to do the cleaning were friendly and very professional. They got out soiled areas that I thought would be impossible to clean.

On time, reasonable prices, good results with the cleaning....what's not to like. We have two dogs that shed and the results have been good. We have used SS three times and will continue to in the future.

They arrived at about 3PM. They finished while it was still light outside.

They were okay. They came and everything. I didn't like they were dragging those filthy, dirty hoses from the outside all over the ground and then bringing them in up my stairs and onto my rug that they were supposed to be cleaning in the first place. They had their boots on. They are cleaning my rug but they are walking on my rug with their dirty shoes from outside. So what was the point of making the rugs cleaned when they were in here with their dirty work boots walking on the rug that they were cleaning.

Setting up the appointment was easy and they offered me the same day, next day, etc. There was a three hour window of when they would arrive. They were supposed to call when they were on the way, which they did not do. He scolded me for not having had the carpet cleaned earlier. He did save me some money - he told me that one of the carpets would not come clean and did we still want him to do it (no). The carpet they did do did not come clean either. So overall, not a bad experience, but I'll try someone else next time.

The two workers came on time...They explained everything to me...Went to work...Did a great job...

I am getting ready to call them again. They usually charge a $100 + tax. I was getting my stairs done but I simply had the carpet removed because I couldn't keep it the way I wanted it to and I put some oak steps there. I am not sure where their location is. They had a special which I seen on the internet for rugs. I didn't call them in time and I messed up. It was a limited time offer. The cleaning just didn't hold up and I don't know why.

I have used them more than once. They were excellent they came on time. They did a good job and went over areas where I asked them to redo. I would certainly use them again the future.

It went very well. We hadn't used them before. They quoted me the same price I paid which was nice. They were on time.

They were good, prompt, and seemed to do a thorough job. I asked them to be very careful with my new paint job as everybody that comes in there seems to damage something else while trying to fix one thing. They were open to that and they didn't seem to damage anything, so that was good. The thing that I didn't like obviously is the high cost, but they did a lot of work. The workers were fine, but one of them was really friendly and not to a point where I would need to report him.

They were punctual. They did the work that I had requested. I would use them in the future.

My mother uses them and that is how I started using them. I spent about $230 on that service. They were fine and the carpet and everything was clean when they were done. I would tell others that they were good and I also recommended them to others.

The technicians were in my home approximately an hour and a half. I encountered no problems.
