[member name removed], Thanks for taking the time to write. After reading your review, I looked into your profile within our system to learn more about what occurred. Unfortunately, we realized we were a bit understaffed in your area during the time you were scheduled to receive an estimate. Upon learning this, we immediately tried to get in touch with you in order to reschedule the appointment, but were unsuccessful in contacting you. You should've received a voice mail from Power which communicated those details, however. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration and would be more than happy to discuss this with you personally. Please feel free to give me a call and we can discuss the particulars and what we can do to leave you better served and satisfied. We discovered this company at BJ's, with whom they have a contract as a preferred provider. We made an appointment, a salesperson visited us at our home, walked the yard, drew a diagram and made a sales presentation. The entre process took approximately 3 hours. He quoted us a price of $22,230. Our roof is approximately 2400 square feet. This was one of three quotes we received. Here is how the prices lined up: Power: $22,230 Finish Line Roofing: $9,180 George Keller and Sons: $9,116 .All three companies use GAF Timberline shingles, but Power uses Timberline Ultra HD instead of Timberline HD. Power also uses the most expensive GAF underlayment, while the other two use a standard GAF 15lb felt underlayment. Finally, Power supposedly guarantees everything for lifetime, while the other two offer the GAF limited lifetime guarantee. NOTE that the GAF guarantee is exactly the same for the Timberline HD and Timberline Ultra HD shingles. They look the same except that the ultra are a little thicker. No one would ever be able to tell the difference between the two. So there is little or no value in upgrading to the Ultra HD shingles. With regard to underlayment, it does not make any difference according to most roofers and a thicker underlayment mostly helps the roofers while walking on it during installation. Keep in mind that, no matter what the underlayment, after the shingles are installed, the underlayment will have thousands of nail holes in it. So, bottom line is, Power was 142% or $13,050 higher than the next highest bidder. There is no compelling reason to even consider using this company. We chose George Keller and are very happy with the work.

Member, I'd like to respond to a few different pieces of your review, as you've unfortunately received some incorrect information and have apparently made your purchasing decision based off of that information. 1: You said, "NOTE that the GAF guarantee is exactly the same for the Timberline HD and Timberline Ultra HD shingles. They look the same except that the ultra are a little thicker. No one would ever be able to tell the difference between the two. So there is little or no value in upgrading to the Ultra HD shingles." This is not true. Let's examine the differences in the two warranties offered: A: The Timberline HD shingle is a 10 year warranty that covers the cost of material and labor for the shingles only - disposal and removal cost is not included, meaning you will have to cover that cost. If you have an issue with any other piece of your roof aside from the shingles, the warranty does not apply and you will have to pay out of pocket. Furthermore, the warranty is prorated following the 10 year period. B: The warranty Power offers for the Timberline Ultra HD shingle is the 'System Plus' warranty - a warranty we're able to offer because we only utilize GAF products throughout the installation of a complete roofing system. This warranty lasts for 50 years, is transferable to the next homeowner, and covers all costs involved in a potential replacement - removal, labor, and materials. In addition to a significantly longer warranty, our guarantee extends to the entirety of the roof - do you have an issue with the underlayment? The flashing? The ridge vents? We'll replace it for free. The warranty you received as a part of your roof will not cover the entirety of the roof - only shingles. 2: You said, "With regard to underlayment, it does not make any difference according to most roofers and a thicker underlayment mostly helps the roofers while walking on it during installation. Keep in mind that, no matter what the underlayment, after the shingles are installed, the underlayment will have thousands of nail holes in it." A: The underlayment we offer - GAF's Deck Armor - is a breathable, synthetic material. Why is this so important? Because if you have an energy efficient home, heat looking to escape your home will move towards the attic. The Department of Energy estimates that 8 gallons of moisture a week can build up in your attic area. Without a permeable material that can properly ventilate your home, humidity can delaminate your decking and can create a build up of mold. If your decking decays, it will cause problems down the line with your shingles - but because your decking was the source of the problem, the warranty for the shingles will effectively be voided. B: With Power's roofing system, this would never happen, as not only are you supplied with a synthetic underlayment that would properly ventilate your attic, but the warranty covering the entirety of the roofing system would leave you secure against any potential issues. C: In order for the warranties of the shingles to be valid, you need to use other GAF components within the roofing system - we utilize GAF Weather Watch and Water Shield, GAF Deck Armor, GAF Pro Start Starter Strip, GAF Cobra Ridge Vents and GAF TimberTex cap shingles, which meaning every aspect of your roof is covered with a premium roofing product. If your roof does not consist of these products, there's a good chance your warranty is already voided. In addition to all of this, Power has been awarded Master Elite certification by GAF - their highest installation training certification - and we've recently received "The Gold Circle" Award from the NRCA (National Roofing Contractors Association) and the Consumer Protection Excellent Award from GAF for never cutting corners or compromising the quality of our product in order to offer a lower price. We understand our product isn't for everyone - premium products typically are not - but If you want to purchase a roof that you will never have to worry about or invest another dime into - our roofing system is the route you want to choose, hands down. Power does not compromise or cut corners in relation to its quality - when you choose Power, you choose peace of mind. If you'd like to discuss this further, I'd be more than happy to speak with your personally. Feel free to contact me using the information below. They rang our bell to offer their services and said they were in the area and they wanted to see if we needed any service. We made an appointment to get a new roof estimate and they called the evening of that day, while we were waiting for them, to say they couldn't make it because they were very delayed and wanted to reschedule. They kept calling to reschedule but we decided not to get an estimate from them.

Member, Thanks for writing. I looked into your profile within our system after reading your review, and I can see that we originally contacted you in May of 2012 to schedule an estimate for a new roofing system that you were interested in. Unfortunately, we had overbooked our appointments for that evening - too many customers and too few remodeling consultants - and weren't able to visit you on the evening we had originally intended. I apologize for this inconvenience - it was certainly not intended, just an unfortunate reality we had to deal with for any numbers of reasons - one of our representatives may have been sick, which in some cases can have ripple effects on the number of customers we are able to visit on any given day. If you'd like to discuss your experience further, please don't hesitate to contact me, and again, my apologies for the inconvenience. I was very pleased with the job that was performed. They said they would be here a certain time and they were. They only took time for a half/hour lunch and were back to work. They worked past 5 pm everyday. They were professional and cleaned up every day. They were very friendly and answered all my questions and concerns. I love the outcome and the job they did. The sales pitch could have been shorter. It was approximately 4 hours. They sales man was very nice, but too long. They price was high. That was my only disappointment, but overall I am glad I did it. My neighbors commented on the job also. I would give his company a A. Thank you Power Home Remodeling Group.

I would not recommend Power at all. I signed up to get an estimate for roof replacement. Power was very prompt to reach out and let me know the name of the person who will show up for the appointment. They also requested access to the attic which means someone needs to be home. Mike the rep who showed up, was very polite and courteous and explained everything to me. He spent about 2.5 hours at my house. At the end of the appointment he gave me a quote with and without new gutters. His quote was at least 60% higher than big-box retailers and about 200% to 250% more than neighborhood contractors. I explained that I was in the process of receiving other quotes and that I would get back to Power. This disappointed Mike and he started throwing out discounts. He said that the quality and the reputation is unbeatable and implied that I should decide then and there immediately to get these discounts which of course were available only that day. That was very pushy. Based on my experience I have noticed that these sales pitches involve telling you that they have a special discount expiring the same day. Its a sham. Dont believe them. The discounts can be asked for when you are ready to make a decision. Never forget that you are their client and not the other way around. Amazingly the very next week I received a call from Power that they have new pricing and would like to offer it to me. I asked them for the details of the discount over the phone to which they said that they are unable to give it over the phone but will have someone stop by. I dont understand how they are unable to give the discount over the phone after they have given me an initial quote. Net net I would say that this is a hard sell operation with a tad arrogant expectation of getting the business on the very same day. I think they are forgetting who is the client here. Dont also fall for these "discount" scams. The name of the game is to pad up the price and then discount it. Hope this helps folks out there. As a last observation I have noticed that Power's quote is a hand written price on their flyer. It is never an official price quote on a letter head with details explained. I have also noticed the same thing with big-box retailer roofing quotes.
Description of Work: These guys have sales reps who go door to door. The reps are not company employees but are hired helps who get paid based on the number of appointments they set up. I had a rep knock on the door offering me a free estimate for a new roof. I said sure and he set up an appointment for the next weekend. Amazingly the very next day another rep showed up offering me a free estimate for a new roof.

Thanks for taking the time to write. I want to take a moment to explain our first visit discount, so that you better understand our pricing and why it is structured in the fashion it is. The reason we're able to offer such a steep discount on the first visit is simply a matter of efficiencies. We visit hundreds of customers everyday. By offering our customers a steep discount for an agreement that evening, we effectively eliminate costs from the potential project. In the long run, it is far more cost-effective for us to come to an agreement on cost if our customers are ready to move forward. And if we can come to an agreement, we push those cost savings right on to the customer for their trust in our products and team. At the same time, we realize asking customers to make a commitment on a large project in one evening is not something everyone can do. Therefore, we believe we offer other cost-effective options that allow you to consider Power while you schedule additional estimates are sit on the quote until you are ready down the line. We are confident in our products, warranties and level of service and while we are transparent that we are not the cheapest game in town, we feel our customers will ultimately choose quality over the lowest bid. In home remodeling, as in life, you typically get what you pay for - Power offers a premium experience, from beginning to end, and as you'll see, 99% of our customers are overwhelmingly satisfied in choosing Power for their project: guildquality.com/cr/Power-Home-Remodeling-Group/6XD528214094JAG/ If you'd like to discuss your experience further, please feel free to contact me directly. We agreed to seven windows. They were costly but seemed high quality. I had a plumbing emergency on Monday that is going to require an entire bathroom replacement. The Power representative came out on Tuesday I told him I couldn't go forward with the project because of the plumbing emergency. Today the rep came to cancel the contract. I explained to him that I couldn't commit to a specific date because of the plumbing emergency. Power is now threatening me with a $1900 charge for breach of contract.

Member, On April 10th, you entered into a contract with us for seven windows within your home. On April 16th, you indicated you wanted to cancel your project while one of our Pre-Install Inspection Managers came to your home to make the final measurements for the project. Nationally, in-home sales provide customers with a 3 day window if they desire to back out of that contract. This is done because outside of that time period, costs are accrued on our behalf in order to ensure the satisfaction of the details in the signed contract - the ordering of custom parts, the cost in processing the project, the labor associated with our processes and procedures ( i.e. Pre-Install Inspection visits ). Furthermore, we ultimately never charged you for the breach of contract - because of the circumstances, the entire agreement was voided, despite the costs we incurred on your behalf. If anything, this is exemplary customer service on our part and not at all deserving of a negative review. If you'd like to discuss this further, please don't hesitate to call me directly. It didn't go at all....Just a waste of our time
Description of Work: Saw them at a home show and talked to them making an appointment. Gave them our home & work numbers for contact. The day of the appointment they called the home number during the day while we were at work to verify appointment. We didn't gwet the message till we got home about 1 hour before scheduled appointment time. We called right away to verify but could not get through. The appointment time came and went with no one showing. Called again and spoke to someone saying we still wanted to meet. and they said someone would call right back. No one ever did. The rep spent 6 hours in my house. He did educate me about vinyl siding which turned out to be a good thing because when I spoke to other contractors, I had a good grasp on the methods and materials used. But the rep wouldn't take no for an answer when he hit me with his initial $30K estimate. He said if I signed on the spot that they could offer a $5000 reduction. I still said no. He then said he would call his boss so he stepped out and came back with an even lower number. I finally signed that contract but the by the very next day I was in terrible distress over the high pressure tactics so I signed and mailed the contract termination form via certified mail. By NJ law, a customer has 3 days to cancel a contract. I was never so happy to get out of a contract in my life. I just didn't trust them. I eventually hired another contractor who had top ratings on Angie's List. My job will commence in a few days without any stress and for a MUCH more realistic price. The siding portion came in at half of the price of PHRG.
Description of Work: This review is just on their sales practices. I did not use them on my siding project. Their high price is only surpasses by their high pressure and shady practices.

PHRG came to our home in Connecticut on an initial meeting to give a quote. The salesman was knowledgeable and prompt, but the entire visit was 2 1/2 hours. Most of this was because he had to plug in his laptop and work for about 35 minutes before he could produce a quote. We had received quotes from other siding companies ranging from 12k to 22k, depending on the product used. PHRG's quote was $30k for the low quote, and $54.8 for the more expensive product. This isn't just more than others, it's 2 1/2 times as much! A couple week later (2 days ago), a salesman called me to say they would like to return to our home to give us revised, lower quotes due to some sales-speak promotion. Since I really did like their product (their gutters are awesome) I agreed on the condition that the visit will take less than an hour. I allowed the somewhat pushy salesman to schedule a time after work, which was tonight. This morning I got a voice message asking me to call back and confirm the appointment. Around 3:00 this afternoon, I did just that, and, oddly, had to navigate to 3 different people in order to simply confirm. I also thought it was odd that she could not give me the name of the person who would be coming, even though it was only 4 hours before the visit. It made me wonder about the company's operational capacity. Sure enough, 7:00 came and went with no visit. I called them back at 7:30 and the dispatcher said they were having difficulty scheduling someone to come out. They could probably get someone to come by 8:30, or I could reschedule. I found this extremely irritating, especially because they called me to begin with! I did not reschedule. I generally agree with the other reviews on here. If you have money to burn, go ahead and give them a try, but if they can't even get someone to show up to an appointment that they called to make, why would I believe they could re-side my house on schedule?

As mentioned above - quick and courteous service and action. Pricing estimates always held. No trying to raise for "hidden costs". Best was that in both situations (roof and windows) - job started and completed in a very quick fashion.
Description of Work: This company, with a Chester NJ chapter, replaced three windows, one a huge bay window and two older second floor windows. Price was resonable and service was expiditous and quality of Widows lived up to expectations. We then had them replace entire roof after Storm Sandee had turn off a large number shingles. High quality materials and sub roofing used. This was a large roof and complete job done in two days at a great price. No complaints.

We have been talking about replacing our roof. At a local flea market we spoke with some representatives from this group. We set up an appointment for an estimate. It was supposed to be at 7:30pm. The rep was a half hour late. It may not seem like a lot of time but at that hour of the evening when people work, every half hour counts. Little did we know, the process of an estimate would take over 3HOURS! I found it odd that he is able to adequately evaluate our roof in the dark. The sales pitch was painful after the first hour and frankly extremely irritating. It appears to be a high quality product but only for those with high quality bank accounts. The fact that they will give you two prices is also annoying. After hearing the first price of $32,0000 I almost choked. But if we signed that night, it would have been $28,000. After saying time and again we can not go into debt for that much, the price went down even further. Now I was done! It was after 11:30 at night, we still hadn't eaten dinner and the boldness of me telling him it was getting really late, we haven't eaten yet and we get up for work at 5am didn't phase him in the least. I also really detest when salesmen act like we don't want to use the "best" product because we're cheap. We prefer to see what else is out there before signing off on a loan that we wouldn't pay off until we are 70! If you have the money, perhaps this company is for you. However, in this economic climate, I'm shocked they are getting customers.

I see a lot of bad reviews for this company and I need to clarify. Some of the Pros: 1 - VERY long sales pitch. Most people buying a roof DON"T know a d*** thing about roofing. For the average person they should sit through this presentation so when they get a price from another company they know how to have an educated conversation with the contractor. No sense getting two other quotes ahead of time if you don't know what they are really going to be doing to your roof. These guys do a GREAT job educating the consumer. 2 - They do have quality products and they seem to run an efficient shop. Some of the Cons: 1 - VERY long sales pitch. I found it informative but do they really think I'm going to believe that the quotes they show from sears and other contractors are what I'm going to use to compare to thier qoute. Plus the donation part is meant to tug at your heart strings. 2 - Two prices supplied after sales pitch. One good for a year and one only good if you sign immediately. That is just bs if you ask me. 3 - Prices don't break anything out. For one days worth of work it hardly seemed like $20,000 for a roof was remotely sane. I realize the quality of the materials are better but that is A LOT of money. Overall these guys are PERFECT for somebody with a. Higher than average income level (they ask a premium price for thier services) b. People who don't want to bother doing the legwork to educate themselves on how a good roof is installed c. Person who doesn't want to bother getting multiple contractors.

I called to confirm my free in home estimate and they promised to be at my home at 7:30 PM and never showed up. They also asked personal questions on the phone during the appointment confirmation regarding who lived in my home and if I was married. I stated I was the sole home owner and made all the decisions and that it was irrelevant who lived in my house. They made an assumption that I should be married and could not be present for a window estimate without my spouse. I felt like they discriminated against me for not accepting the fact that I was the sole owner of my home and the decision maker AND A SINGLE PERSON. MY MARITAL STATUS IS NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS. When I called the next day to find out why they did not show up it was because I did not have a spouse present. WHEN A POTENTIAL CUSTOMER IS ASKING FOR AN ESTIMATE, YOU SHOULD TAKE IT ON THEIR WORD THAT THEY ARE THE HOME OWNER AND DECISION MAKER. THIS COMPANY BELITTLED ME FOR BEING SINGLE AND PENALIZED ME FOR IT. THEY MADE ME WAIT FOR THEM AND WASTED BY TIME AND DID NOT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEY WERE NOT KEEPING THE APPOINTMENT. I HAVE A HOME THAT NEEDED SIDING AND 11 WINDOWS THAT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THEY JUST LOST A NICE JOB DUE TO THEIR DISCRIMINATORY PRACTICES.
