It went very well. They were very good at providing information about both their products and services during the initial estimate. The work was done very quickly and I was extremely satisfied with the results.

Everything went very well. There were separate crews for each of the 3 projects. They called before they came to give me an update on when they would arrive, and came within minutes of the estimated time. The work went smoothly and according to schedule. The crews were all very pleasant and kept me appraised of their progress. I have dogs, and they were careful not to let them out of the yard or leave the gate open. They also cleaned up the work areas when they were finished. I would not hesitate to use this company for any future projects.

As a homeowner, one of the things you read about to avoid being scammed is to NOT CONTRACT WITH UNSOLICITED SALESMEN. I am VERY annoyed with Power's uninvited salesperson who kept knocking on our door during dinnertime. Despite my husband looking through the door window then walking away without opening it -- which the sales guy could see, he kept knocking. My husband finally opened the door and sent him on his way. Obviously, if my husband looked at the guy through the door and didn't open it, that should have been the hint for the sales guy to walk off, maybe leave some literature and keep it moving, not for him to keep knocking.

[Member Name Removed], we'd like to apologize for the inconvenience and unwanted interruption. While we never want to have homeowners walk away from their experience with Power feeling as you do, we wanted to better explain why we visit the neighbors of customers we do work for. In our 24 years of business and with over 275,000 installations completed, we have found that most homeowners delay getting work done to their home far beyond the threshold of needing the products and services. Everyday, we speak with hundreds of homeowners and one commonality we see consistently are families not being aware of how badly their home actually needs improvements done. By speaking with homeowners in neighborhoods of projects we're currently installing, we're able to raise awareness of the issues in-home to the forefront and, ultimately, save homeowners considerable amounts of money by getting the project installed correctly by certified professionals when it's needed and before it's too late.

I didn't get their best windows, I couldn't afford the big ones that they had. I had to call them back because one of the windows wasn't caulked right or whatever. They had to do a little bit more work on it. They warranty for life. They did a good job. They're very high priced.

A salesperson from this company was going door-to-door soliciting estimates, saying they were doing a job around the corner and would have someone out the next day or two doing estimates. It's worth noting that the only roof I noticed being done on the street he pointed to was being done by a different provider. Since I was busy when they came to the door, I initially asked if they could give me a pamphlet or a business card so I could call when I had a chance. - they refused to do that. I agreed to let them arrange for an estimate, he put me on the phone with someone at the office to schedule. The person asked for my explicit permission to auto-dial my phone. Suspecting they were getting permission to robo-dial, I was adament that they had permission to call me ONCE and only in reference to setting an appointment for the estimate. They did not seem pleased. Then they asked who else lived with me - spouse, etc. Seriously? Why??? I told them that was none of their business and not relevant to the estimate as I own the house and make the decisions. They argued with me for a while but I held my ground - they refused to make further attempts to schedule the estimate, which was fine with me because I have no further interest in doing business with this company.

Thank you for taking the time to write and leave a review - we take all customer feedback seriously and continually use it to improve our processes and levels of service. In regards to your experience, we request that all homeowners be home at the time of the estimate. A home improvement project can be a very intimate experience - you're opening up your home to a company and are trusting them to do the right thing with, arguably, your most precious possession. We want all parties involved to be completely comfortable and aware of what to expect in the process, that way we can ensure the best experience possible. Furthermore, when we leave a sticker price and aren’t able to deliver the estimate to both homeowners, the party that was absent isn’t aware of what is built into the quote – they just see a number with no context, which makes it difficulty to get a true understanding of the value you’re getting for your money. Again, we're sorry that you did not enjoy your experience, but hopefully, after reading this reply, you understand why you were asked the questions you mentioned above. If you'd like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact me directly using the information below. Install went well. They laid out tarp so they wouldn't damage my floors on the inside and outside. They finished removing my Venetian blinds as well as the old sliding glass doors and screen. Once installing my new sliding glass doors, they caulked the outside and cleaned up the inside. Very smooth transition and clean up.

Power Home had previously replaced my windows, siding and attic insulation, so for me, it was logical to have them do my roof as well. During the initial visit, the rep showed me exactly what would be done and in what order at which time I signed up for the work to be done. The next step is the Pre-inspection. During the step, measurements were computed once again to verify the initial numbers that were recorded. At this time, I also verified the color choice and we set up the date for the work to be done. In this case, it was within a week. Day before job, a dumpster was delivered. Day of job, the team arrived as scheduled and completed the work within one day as scheduled. Day after job, the dumpster was removed. As for the team, they were professional and courteous. Every precaution was taken to ensure my windows and siding were not damaged while the old shingles were removed. The team replaced roofing where needed due to age and some water damage. Once the team was finished, they went around the house picking up debris from the old roof and disposed of everything. As scheduled, the Project Manager or Quality Assurance rep which was my case, came out to inspect the job and to activate the warranty. A warranty which carries over to the next owner of the home. I would definitely recommend PHRG to anyone that needs to have work done. This was my 3rd successful project with them.

Our consultant from Power Home Remodeling Group, Stephen Perri, was a friendly, well-spoken comfortable guy who represented himself and his company well. He came over to give a free estimate on windows in the second floor of our house which he did very smoothly and created an educational environment in which I learned a great deal about how the latest state of the art windows operate. His explanations about his companies' products were well done, plus he did so without bad mouthing rival companies. He actually had some good things to say about some of their products while at the same time making his own products look better just through example and demonstration. He answered every question that we had, explained how the entire process would proceed and gave a number of payment options at the end. A professional experience that was presented well without sounding like a high pressure sales tactic as a number of salespeople might try. I would give high marks to Mr. Perri for the experience.

Never Showed Up and No Phone Call to Notify Me! - Made an appoint for today at 11am. Since I'm an absentee owner, I had to drive about 45 min to my property to get an estimate to have a window installed that broke during a storm. I was rushing over too, because I had an early morning personal appt. Called the office at 11:15 and after about 5 minutes on hold, they apologized, however, they didn't understand why I was scheduled for today since it was Sunday and they are normally closed. So the person who made the appointment for me made a mistake. They asked if I would like to reschedule and I declined.

Everything was amazing. From the sales call (which is long but VERY helpful and explanatory). The pre-construction meeting was easy and fast and the install of everything only took 3 days. If one of the days wasn't windy I'm sure they would have finished in two. Constant contact throughout and a great product. Not the cheapest contractor around but certainly worth the extra cost. And when they found out I spent $1600 on necessary electrical work, they helped out on the financing. Great company and I will certainly use them for home improvements in the future.

I requested an estimate from Power Home Remodeling for new siding and 2 new double hung windows. The person who came to provide the estimate was very nice and professional, however, I had to ask him to wrap up the presentation and give me the price after 3 HOURS (not exaggerating). He provided me with an estimate of $45,000 for JUST new siding and gutters...yes, $45,000 (approx. 2000 sq ft). They also tell you their siding has a lifetime, transferable warranty, and give you the "this price is only good for today" pressure sale line. All other contractors who gave me an estimate also offered a product with a lifetime warranty, so that's nothing special. I received 4 other estimates, ranging from $18,000 to $26,000 - and that included new windows. As you can see, Power Home Remodeling is way overpriced. Do yourself a favor and seek other estimates before signing a contract with them - you will be happy you did.

Response from Power Home Remodeling
Thanks for taking the time to leave us with some feedback. I wanted to respond to a few items you raised in your review, as I think they highlight important considerations when choosing a partner for your remodeling project. In regards to the warranty, while other contractors offer a 'lifetime warranty', I urge you to check what is actually covered by that. Typically, it's the manufacturer's warranty - which does not extend to labor on the contractor's end. Meaning each time you would want something serviced, there's an additional expense. In addition, many contractors do not have technicians specifically trained in warranty service work. Power offers a full labor warranty in addition to the manufacturer's warranty - meaning if one of our products needs to be serviced, you simply call our Warranty Service Department (888.REMODEL, option 3 at the prompt) and we'll send out a Field Service Manager to address the issue immediately, free of charge. Secondly, I'm sorry you felt as if the estimate process ran long, but we take the education of our customers seriously and informing them as to all the ins and outs of their project can take time. When making a decision about the renovation of your home, it's important to us (and important to our customers) to understand how we are different from other contractors and specifically what we do to separate ourselves from the competition. The discrepancy between warranties I mentioned above is a great example. This information is vital in making a decision on what can be a large investment and, on the whole, our customers appreciate our thoroughness. Power uses specific products and processes to deliver a premium experience. If we don’t have the opportunity to explain these differences to the homeowner, our customers will be comparing numbers with zero context. This can lead to homeowners having the project done elsewhere and, generally, being unhappy with the results, as the home remodeling industry carries a 68% complaint rate. We feel that it is wise to invest a little more - whether that's money or time - for an excellent experience rather than to not invest as much as you should have and regret an expensive mistake down the line. If you'd like to discuss your experience further, please feel free to reach out to me directly. Hurricane Sandy, decided to rip shingles off half of my roof, but I feel that Power HRG ripped me off worse and caused me much more grief than any storm damage. My insurance company was actually quite response to my claim, and other than the fact they only would pay for one half of a roof, and I was pretty sure I would have to purchase a whole one, the process went fairly well. I considered myself lucky after all the horror stories I heard about people dealing with insurance companies after the storm. I ended up with Power because my neighbor had a good experience with them, and they were the only ones I could get to come out to my house anyway. Most roofers were so busy, they didn't even bother coming to give me an estimate. It was not a very pleasant process, and with winter coming I felt backed into a corner. I tired to research the company and read some reviews that talked about their high pressure sales tactics, so I was somewhat prepared for that and it is certainly true. The salesman was a fast talking "kid" with impressive props and he ingratiated himself quickly with my family members. I might have been more cautious if I had other viable options, but I was stuck anyway, so I just tried to go into with my eyes wide open and be prepared to cover my bases. I trusted their so called warranty and claim that they "stood behind the work of their sub-contractors" and that I would have a Project Manager to supervise the job and answer all my questions and handle any issues that arose. I met with their PM before the job began, and I though he listened to all my concerns and conditions, and I felt that I could work with him. Unfortunately, he was not around for most of the day the work was actually done, and the crew was not responsive to my questions and/or claimed not to speak English. That was definitely a bad sign, but the roof was already coming off, and I felt that the company would stand by their people as they claimed to. After all, I had a "lifetime warranty" right? Another bad sign early on in the project was when the crew foreman beat up one of his workers inside the truck. I guess the guy refused to work or something, but he ended up at my front door all bloodied and looking to clean up. Against my better instincts I let him come in to use the bathroom. I wish I had gotten pictures of the beat down, or at least the bloody handprint left on my front door by the worker. Maybe that would have helped in my later "negotiations" with Power to get my roof fixed properly. I have a high roof on a semi-attached house and I could not easily observe the work being done form the ground below or any other vantage point. The work looked to be progressing OK, and to my untrained eye it seemed it was all going well. They did clean up after themselves and at the end of the day I was cautiously optimistic that all had gone well, but it had started to rain and I could not climb up to get a good look that day. When I finally got onto the roof several days later, it was immediately evident that the work was not completed to my satisfaction. The middle section was still the old shingles, it had not been touched, and the meeting of the old and new shingles was sloppy and actually "lumpy" and soft. They were not neatly or cleanly meshed or weaved together. They came together in the roofing equivalent of a scab. I have no confidence that it will not leak at some point or dry up and crumble if ever stepped on by someone working on the roof antenna or chimney, etc. They next problem I found was the edges of the roof where the shingles were quite loose and improperly secured to the metal trim. I took pictures of this and the "scab" and sent them to my PM and the Warranty Department and that is where the true tale of woe begins. To say that they were less than helpful is too kind, but they did make an effort to appear to be listening to me and going with a plan to just keep stalling me until I gave up asking for the work to be corrected. They must know their business model and have learned from experience because they were right, I did give up on trying to get my resolution. They did send a guy out once when I wasn't home, even though I specifically insisted that I be home when anyone came to my house, and he did a slapdash job of gluing down the loose shingles with some sort of adhesive, but nothing ever came of my complaints about the other issues I had with the job. My PM seemed sympathetic at first, but in time he stopped answering my calls. As for the Warranty Department, it was worse than Lily Tomlin's version of the phone company. Deaf ears. I tried to write this review several times before but every time I began, it reminded me of the whole experience and made me angry and disgusted all over again. I am only doing it now because I recently had another contractor, who did my garage door as a sub-contractor for Power HRG, read my review of that job and reach out to me in an attempt to correct the mistakes with that job. Turns out that my complaints about that work never eve made it them because of Power's policies regarding subs. I am also writing because I recently saw a Power crew working in my neighborhood and I fear that someone else may be getting fleeced because I failed to tell my story. The story of the single worst consumer experience that I have ever had in my life. I would not recommend Power HRG to anyone for anything for any price.
Description of Work: The provider gave me about 80 to 90 % of a new roof. I was sure I paid for 100 % of a new roof, and that we agreed to an "entire" or "all" new roof, but the crew that came to do the work made the decision to not replace the center portion that meets my neighbor's roof, even though I specifically asked about that portion of the roof several times, since that is the only part that has ever had a problem prior to Hurricane Sandy, which caused the damage that lead me to this situation.
