That was horrible. I haven't tried to get anything since that experience. It was bad. They never came. I may have rescheduled at least two or three times, they never showed. I was sending them some emails and I wanna say I wound up getting my money back when I put in a complaint but they never showed up. At one point they told me if I rescheduled 2 or 3 times then finally they said, "Look lady, we're too busy we can't do it". The price was good. I would tell friends or family to stay away. Even though the pricing is good, they're very unprofessional.

I don't typically do online reviews but I was compelled to do so here because I was so impressed with the level of service. I found D&S on Angies List and I usually have my doubts about what people say but in this case I was not disappointed. Don the owner was very responsive and attentive to my needs from the start and was able to meet very quickly. He went about things in a very professional and thorough manner even during the estimate stage when he brought additional experts with him to assess and everything was measured from the start to get me an accurate quote. He made sure to have the right people with him that were experts in masonry vs planting to make sure we had all angles covered. He was listening to what I wanted but he also offered up his advice and recommendations if he didn't necessarily agree which was refreshing. The actual quote came back to me within a week and it was very detailed outlining every step of the project and every individual plant he would be including - so it was full transparency. In terms of price - all in it was very fair and maybe even a little less than I expected to pay. We ended up putting the brakes on this project for the season but when we're ready, Don @ D&S would be our first call. Definitely a very solid business with good people working that you can get comfortable with very easily. In my opinion, they are definitely deserving of top consideration for any landscaping project in the area.

Don called me back within a few hours, great response time. Sadly even though they showed up in as an option in angies list for my zip code they do not service my area. Anyone in berkeley heights just be aware.

I canceled them. They were just too much money. They were just robbing you. Their clean up was almost $500. The lawn was only $37, but that was alright, but their clean up is terrible. First of all they really don't clean up that good and charge you too much money.

My landscape was arguably the worst (ugliest) on the block. Now, my landscape is first on the block per family, friends, neighbors and strangers. Next is the back yard and D&D Landscaping will be my first call! Thanks to Don and the D&S team! Awesome work = fully satisfied customer.

Great. They are dependable and they do a great job for us.

They quickly provided a reasonable quote which we accepted. They showed up on the date they promised and immediately began the work. Due to the heat that day it took them another day to complete the job. We were very pleased with the work they did and we got a number of compliments from our neighbors. However since the job was done in late May/Early June the grass and one of the bushes did not do well due to the heat. It took a little prodding but they agreed to replace the grass and bush in late a September. The came back when promised and redid the grass and replaced the bush. The grass looks really good now. I was very happy with their work and I would use them again.

BEWARE- BEWARE-BEWARE I never write negative articles until this one. I thought by the awards that was given to this company from Angie's list they would be reputable. The only award I would give them would be a customer rip-off from the estimate I did receive. I have a small piece of property (around 3,500 square feet) and needed grass since my lawn had damage from the dry summer we had. It consisted of the front and rear lawn. Issac came to examine and sent me a estimate. The estimate to do the above work was $3,210.00. This was such a slap in the face from a Angie's list company. My other estimates were in the $450.00 to $550.00 range from AL. I hope members would really take this review as a warning from D & S landscaping.

It went very well. I was very pleased. The foreman was very professional. He was very experienced and knowledgeable about the plants. Clean up was great.

Isaac did a nice job trimming the shrubs and small trees and the back yard clean up. However he forgot to trim some of the shrubs. I sent Don a message and Don had informed me to wait a few weeks before those select shrubs needed to be trimmed. while waiting a few weeks the weeds grew back; which means Isaac forgot to spray weed killer; he only weeded. I send Don a message regarding this and I asked him if there will be an additional charges. Don said no. The only issue I have is Isaac is slow in responding but does excellent work

They came Monday morning (7/11) and were completely done late Tuesday afternoon. The first day there were 3 men working, the second morning there were five men. Two left at noon. Cleanup was thorough and complete.

They did not provide the service. Someone came out once and I signed an estimate. They were supposed to provide the service and they did not show up. Initially, they were very responsive. Unfortunately, even after the estimate was signed, we had two phone contacts with them and they said they would come out and provide ongoing service and they never showed up. They could be more reliable.

Though they weren't the provider I needed, they did answer my inquiry immediately, they steered me toward proper provider for my needs. If they answer someone they know won't be a customer so quickly imagine how they would respond to a potential customer. Take this review for what it's worth but i think it is worth mention.

He identified the problem and suggested solution.

They cleared our yard of all leaves and branches. They even took away old pile of branches for us. The cost was for 2 services about 1 month apart.

Don, the owner, was always very responsive and on top of the work.

We are very satisfied with their service. They are prompt and punctual, and they bring a crew large enough to do the job right the first time in a small amount of time. They work around the weather, returning a future day if it is raining for example. They are easy to communicate with, either they pick up the phone right away or they call you back in a short time.

Overall the job went as expected. A crew of guys were dropped off in the AM and began the cleanup and removal of some overgrown landscaping that the previous owners neglected for years. The job was scheduled and completed in adequate time. I was initially pleased with their work and followed their watering and care instructions for the next several weeks into the late spring. Once the grass was able to be mowed a found some areas where they missed pulling out the landscape fabric and just soiled over. I took it for an oversight and will be fixing this spot in my front yard so next spring my lawn will be taken care of.

I have questions regarding invoices, have left three voice mail messages and told one of his employee to pass the message for me, so far no response at all. They have stated on their web site, all messages will response within 24 hours. Forget about 24 hours, my messages have been longer than 24 days, still not response. I really don't understand how people manage their business without communication

This is the second time we used D&S Landscaping. Have been happy with their work both times. You may have to call them a couple of times but they do get back to you.

We engaged D&S for replacing our patio stairs and we are really glad with our choice. The crew was very professional and went above and beyond, and the work was very high quality, it completely transformed our backyard. We also really enjoyed working with Isaac, from scoping the project to picking the materials, he was really easy to work with, nice, patient and reliable. We will gladly work with them again for our next outdoor project. Thanks D&S!

If every service provider were as professional, empathetic, patient, hardworking and respectful of property as Isaac and his D&S crew, there would be no need for an Angie?s List ? except to give them more business than they could handle! We want to express our sincere thanks for the landscaping work they did, reporting to finish up even on Father?s Day Sunday. There just aren?t enough words to express the efficiency and dutifulness of the whole process. God bless the D&S families in their work.

I called Don for an estimate. He walked my property with me and made several suggestions about the type of landscaping, type of plants, etc. He later provided me a sketched schematic with written estimate. Don worked with me within my budget. Work took a little longer but that was mostly due to uncooperative weather delays. Everything came out better than expected. What I thought I originally wanted paled in comparison. He is a true artist and very customer-focused and takes pride in his work. Also, his team trimmed my other bushes, removed a dead tree and watered everything without being asked. I am very pleased and will definitely use them again without hesitation.
