Precision Shower Doors, Inc.

From day one the shower leaked below the bottom hinge as there is too much space between the hinge and the top of the shower base. While I did not report this to the company for a considerable period of time (I simply put a rag on the floor to catch the water), when I finally did report it I was met with abuse, lies and the most rude individual I have ever had the displeasure of speaking with. In my opinion, anyone doing business with this company should have his/her head examined.

My experience with Precision has been a nightmare. I never write negative reviews because I would rather let go of bad experiences and move on. In this case with Precision I believe that I have been cheated of over $7000 and nothing to show for it. Precision was engaged to source, deliver and install glass in kitchen cabinet (2 cabinet doors), 3 steel French doors, and one piece of glass for a side railing for a staircase. This was not a lot of glass. For this work they billed me more than $14,000. I found out later (from the supplier) that the actual cost of the material was about $3500. Precision had a huge mark up. Here are the facts: 1. I paid Precision to order glass from Bendheim. They did not. They went to another supplier without telling me and then delivered the wrong glass to me. I tried to stop payment on my credit card. Precision then said they would try to fix the situation. In good faith, I informed my credit card company that Precision would try to make good on its obligation, so the payment was released to Precision. 2. Now more than two years later, Precision still has not delivered any glass or made any installation. There was a lot of back and forth and when Precision secured the $7000 they said that they would install the glass if I purchased it on my own. I did so hoping to end this ordeal, and now about a year from that conversation, they still have not installed. They contacted me once giving me less than 24 hour notice, because they happened to be in my neighborhood in NYC, to install. With such short notice I could not take the next day off of work and asked them to reschedule. This occurred more than many months ago and since then, they have ignored my efforts to communicate. I write this review not because of spite, but I really feel swindled by Precision. I had a terrible and costly experience with them.

My thanks to Tom and Larry. They both were very knowledgeable and professional. We had priced several glass stores around my area but Precision is the only one that does it completely frameless. They are the only one that completes the job within 2 wks. I was impressed with the speed. It looks great. I am very happy with it.

The service was fine. It was in the middle of Hurricane Sandy. I had a lot of issues on my part, including my phone did not work. They were very understanding. Everything was fine and I am pleased with the my doors. The price was expensive but I got what I paid for.

We have been comparison shopping quite a bit, and the estimate we received from Precision was twice the price of the next highest estimate. So, my husband emailed the owner to see why exactly there was such a drastic difference in the price. The response we received was, perhaps, the most unprofessional email I've ever read: Mr. Logan; One would imagine that having taken the time get 5 estimates you might have taken a few minutes to compare them and distinguish an apples to oranges comparison (value to cost) or you may have simply stated you were not looking for quality but merely the cheapest price, for then I would have referred you to The Home Depot. In any event I wish you luck. After 28 years as the sole mfg./installer in NJ I have replaced more than a few "high quality" enclosures from " reputable" companies. Just imagine if people chose there attorneys based on cost without due diligence. "caveat emptor"My guess is you will getting a 3/8" glazing quality glass with Chinese hardware and aluminum channel, installed by a poorly trained, minimum wage worker that will provide you with the quality and service commensurate to the price you paid. I would speculate further that in due time after you are thoroughly frustrated by the poor quality, when the glass is permanently stained with soap scum and the cheap hardware fails to keep the door closed, when the aluminum is pitted and full of gunk, when your requests for service go unheeded.You just may regret having failed to read the FAQS I sent you.
