East Windsor Carpet One Floor & Home

I purchased a remnant ($900+). Asked if they had coupons or discounts, was told no. Few days later found a coupon for 10% off any purchase. Next day guy came to measure room (even though the remnant was more than ample, and that was fine); I told him I had found a coupon which he said he would pass on. Installers came a few days later, did their job and presented me with the bill. It did not include the coupon, so I called the store. First question from the woman co-owner (I believe) was "Why didn't you tell us you had a coupon when you came in?" Major alert!!!!! I didn't have it when I came in but what difference would it have made - you would've raised your price????? GUESS WHAT?? Sure enough she told me to hold, came back a few minutes later saying they MADE A MISTAKE ON MY BILL and it was actually $70 higher - they'd give me a $20 discount. How do you 'discover' you've 'made a MISTAKE' on a remnant? Padding carpet, installation all calculated beforehand. I had her telling me that's all I'd get, and three installers telling me to sign the receipt or they wouldn't be paid. I caved, and signed. I finally realized later that I paid by CC - East Windsor Floor Covering's defense was that I signed the receipt. I can't believe I got taken by what I assumed was a reputable firm - NOT!!! Do not deal with them - even their salespeople aren't very enthusiastic or friendly. Bunch of shysters - I am sharing their shady practice with everyone I come in contact with. Will cost them more than the $75 that they ripped me off for.

Prior to purchase, the East Windsor sales staff were very helpful, very friendly and very professional. The East Windsor Flooring showroom has a huge display of wood flooring samples. Many samples are large enough to help visualize how it will appear in the home and most can be borrowed overnight to take home. Because this was going to be such a big investment, it took us many showroom visits and borrowed samples. Throughout this time consuming process (it took us weeks to reach a decision) our sales person and others in the office were patient and helpful beyond belief - absolutely no pressure and lots of good insights and suggestions. Once we decided on a preferred wood flooring, the owner, John, came to the house to measure the area and give us a price quote. He was enormously helpful in answering all of our questions about the makes, quality and installation of engineered wood floors (we ultimately decided on a floating installation rather than glue down). The East Windsor price quote was very competitive with a quote we had obtained from another supplier. Considering the high level of service from East Windsor Flooring, we felt the price was very good. The installation was completed when promised and the crew was professional and very considerate of our requests - they moved all furniture with great care and there were absolutely no mishaps. At this point, we've had the floor for over 4 months and we are totally happy - the floor looks fantastic and it is so easy to clean (we previously had wall to wall carpeting). One thing we learned regarding our particular flooring, which may or may not apply to other floors, is that humidity level in the house can affect the flooring - not in a harmful way, but when humidity drops to a very low level (as it did during prolonged cold spells this winter), we discovered some creaking sounds in small areas of the floor. Once we turned on our humidifier and brought the level up to 40 - 45%, the sounds disappeared.

We've used East Windsor Flooring several times and have always had an excellent experience. This time, we had an abundance of selections available to us at a reasonable price. The courteous staff measured the room and provided an accurate estimate of the cost. They advised us on the most appropriate padding to use, but gave us a few options. Removal and installation was performed when promised and in a professional manner.

I picked them because they were on Angie's List. They did a quality job. They were on time. They kept their price as promised. I was happy to pay what I paid.

The salesman was very helpful when we ordered, pointing out cost-saving remnant carpeting that really helped our costs remain lower. He also helped us select tile and grout as well as attaining 0% financing for everything. One of the owners came out immediately to measure and we discussed where we wanted everything as well as requested an estimate including tiling for each entrance; we wanted to weigh the option of doing the tile, if it had been too expensive we would have only done the kitchen. The tiling had to be done first and we were told they had to order it so it would be at least 2 weeks and would take 2 days (1 to install and 1 to grout). We waited about three weeks for the tile to be installed. It ended up that the tiler would have finished in 1 day but there wasn't enough tile! To top that off, the estimate and plans didn't detail whether the measurements included the closets or not. Since it had been weeks since we had placed the order and we had so many questions, I couldn't remember what our decision had been so we decided to do those as well. This ended up increasing our budget by about $300. It appeared that the tiling otherwise went smoothly and the guy was going to come back the next week since they rush ordered more tile. The guys who came to do the carpet were good. They were fast, efficient, and respectful of me and our things. Overall I was very satisfied with them and the job they did. The tile guy returned and finished the job, which turned out very nice. He didn't finish where the tile met the carpet vey well so I called and had someone come back and fix it. Also, the carpet tacks came through in spots and with a baby in the house I had them hammer those down. Fast forward a couple months, the carpet has some minor things such as where seams are that you can tell and squeeking seams. I just don't want to take the time to have someone come and look at it and tell me there's nothing to do for it. Right before Christmas we noticed that the grout was cracking in the kitchen; we called and they had someone come out the following week. I'm not sure what they used though because this was shiny and you can tell the difference from the grouted areas to this new "grout". This has also started to crack but I haven't yet called for repairs. I've also noticed that while the tile guy started the job using spacers, he mustn't have finished that way since the grout lines are different widths throughout. I'm a disappointed in these issues as all the installation people were very nice and respectful.

The experience was generally good as the installers knew exactly what they were doing and cleaned up each of the 2 days on the job. Remarkable the job was completed in only 2 days with excellent quality. The only regrets I had was not to comparison shop as I personally believed I may have overpaid by about 20%. Also the Supervisor needed to be reminded about things he said would be done and appeared to conveniently forget unless we kept reminding him. Overall, was very satisfied with the work performed and would consider them to do work again.

We had problems from the beginning when the owner measured our rooms. We found that he overmeasured our hallway by 100 feet. It was difficult to get him to price the work correctly. We requested an itemized bill showing the number of feet and cost per foot, but we could not get him to provide one. The installation of the hardwood flooring was sloppy. The installers damaged our walls in several places. They sawed the wood on our front walkway, leaving glue all over the porch area. They did not have a tarp, but sawed on an old piece of carpet which did not fully cover the area. They had trouble moving the furniture and did not bring dollies or coasters. A lot of glue was also left between the planks. They damaged the saddle molding trying to replace the furniture and had to order another piece. We noticed a crack in one plank of hardwood after they left. After the first winter, we found that the hardwood separates, leaving 1/8 to 1/4 inch spaces between the planks. We are also not happy with the carpeting they sold us as it was supposed to be strain-release, and we have had a difficult time removing any stain.

They were great. They were timely and professional. They had a fair price. We've used them before and like them a lot.

EAST WINDSOR FLOOR COVERING - Carpet Sales/Installation/Repair The price was too high. They were very reliable,very polite, and good, I liked them. They came here when they said they would. Moved the furniture, did a very good job. The workers were nice. It looks very nice. I would recommend them.

They were very professional. They were on time for the installation. The job was done neatly and they cleaned up. They vacuumed the carpeting before they left. Everything was fine. They were very attentive to my needs when I was in the store picking out the carpet. They didn't try to push me into a sale that I couldn't afford. They were very understanding. I would use them again.

Someone came out and measured the rooms. They went back to the store . The manager came back out to re-measure and added some yards to the initial estimate. After the work I had a lot carpet left over this something

Sales staff was pleasant and helpful, installation went very smoothly. We had contracted with them previously on another job. We were unhappy with a small part of the job. When we called the store someone was sent out immediately to very quickly and pleasantly correct the problem. We would highly recommend them.

Carpet choices didn't meet our likeing. Salesman was very nice and not pushy.

My insurance carrier gave me a list of companies in my area that were under contract with them. I checked them with the BBB and Angie's list and this company came back with "A" ratings on both counts. The comments on Angie's list was the deciding factor. The insurance company then contacted East Windsor. They called me the same day and set up an appointment to review the damage. They submitted their estimate and within four days they had an approval and begun the work. They used the exact same product that was originally used and did an outstanding job.They completed the job in four days (removed the old floor, insatlled the new wood floor and cut and installed all new molding) The cleaned up every day after they finished working.

We comparison shopped and found East Windsor to be several dollars less per square foot on the hardwood than another local flooring store with a regional presence. Both places were very friendly, low pressure, good assortment of high end hardwood. In the end we went with East Windsor because of price. Installers were polite and neat. It all went well. The only reservation I had was that they did not deliver the flooring in advance to let it accommodate to our house's humidity/temp, as advised by experts. I was concerned about this, but reassured the flooring was in an environment that made that unnecessary. For several months we heard the boards "popping" intermittently. This doesn't seem to have affected the flooring. It is beautiful and we saved a lot of money. The carpet was also high quality, neat installation. My husband was very fussy about the padding, and they accommodated him on this. Overall, would definitely go use East Windsor again.

Superb. Very professional at every stage, and the work was all absolutely beautifully done. I couldn't have been happier with the outcomes.

The service and installation were excellent. The tile installer worked from 9AM until 9PM to complete the job in one day so that we would be without the use of our bathrooms for the minimum amount of time. The installers, for both the carpet and tile, were extremely neat and cleaned up any debris before they left. In the bathrooms, all that I had to do was wipe the haze from the grout off the floors (as expected).

WE HAVE USED THIS COMPANY FOR 10 YEARS. THEY ARE A FAMILY OWNED COMPANY. THEY ARE THE BEST AROUND. WE HAVE HIRED THEM TO DO ALL OF THE FLOORING IN OUR HOUSE.
