Russo Bros. & Co. was established in 1954 by the "Professor of Plumbing" Michael Russo to service the plumbing, heating and air conditioning needs of residential and commercial clients throughout Northern New Jersey. Our New Jersey plumbers are licensed and equipped to handle any task from new plumbing, heating and air conditioning installations to all levels of service and repair work. Russo Bros. & Co. is also licensed to install, repair and test backflow prevention devices as required by the state of New Jersey.

Description of Work: Installed a replacement central air conditioner. Very professional and did an outstanding installation in one day. From initial contact, providing an estimate and answering all questions and crew installing the replacement equipment they all demonstrated true professionalism. They take pride in their work.

Description of Work: The plumbing service was good. The task was to install a self purchased kitchen faucet to replace a broken one. The job took one man about an hour and a half. The charge was $474 plus tax $31.78 and a "discount" of $20; net $485.75! That seems a lot for 1.5 hours labor! Next time I will shop around!

Description of Work: Furnace tune up and water valve. I have used Russo Brothers previously to replace a sump pump. They are always extremely professional. They may not be the cheapest gig in town but you get what you pay for. All of their work has been efficient, clean, and great quality. I will be using them for other services.

Description of Work: They replaced the pressure tank (for the sprinkler system). The tank that had been installed previously installed was done incorrectly and it was the wrong size (too small). We now have sprinklers that can water the entire property because we have enough pressure running through the water lines.

Description of Work: Replaced a shower valve and converted from two handle fixture to one handle. Note: Russo Bros. provided the one-handle fixture. The plumber did a good job but the prices are Over-the-Top EXPENSIVE. For that reason I would not use them again. Most repair services will give a free estimate or if they charge for an estimate, they will deduct the charge from the bill if you use them-- NOT Russo Bros.! I was in a desperate situation (and they knew it) and had to have the shower valve fixed because water was running out of the faucet even though the spigots were turned off. I had to shut the water off for the whole house to get it to stop. I also had to take a vacation day in order to be home for the repair. I called Russo Bros. and they were able to send someone in 2 days after I called which was fine with me. They gave me a small time frame in which to expect the plumber to arrive. (much appreciated) Matt arrived right on time. He was energetic and pleasant. When he first came into the house, he wore red booties to protect my floors. When he went back out to the truck to get something, one red booty fell off and was left behind like a Cinderella glass slipper. So the job was done without booties. He gave an estimate and I swore he said $1200 which was a shock. I agreed because I was desperate. |He had to wait for a co-worker to bring tools to cut tile and sat out in the truck for an hour. The actual job took about 4 hours. His work was neat and well done. He cleaned up nicely. Then he presented the bill for over $1,800.00! He said he quoted about $1600 then with tax added and the estimate charge etc... it was over 1,800. He then showed me his iPad with prices. So maybe I didn't hear him correctly the first time? Be sure you ask to SEE THE ESTIMATE IN WRITING before you agree. I lost my breath and nearly fainted at the cost. Satisfied with the work, but I know I could've had the job done for less with someone else.

We apologize that our technician did not follow through with wearing his booties for the entirety of the project and for any miscommunication when quoting the job. Our standard practice is to provide an estimate upfront; occasionally for a larger project our technicians will quote a starting price to give the client a minimum that the project could cost. These are standard company policies and something that we feel strongly about and will discuss with him.

This situation happened in September 2012, the work we performed prior to this time was for the previous homeowner. The client was unhappy about a diagnostic charge so we reimbursed her. We have since serviced this home for routine maintenance and were not notified of any dissatisfaction.

Thank you for your patronage and completing a review on your recent work. To avoid these types of problems in the future, we highly recommend seasonal maintenance on heating equipment which can eliminate down time as well as potentially hazardous situations. During this service call, our technician diagnosed the problem to be a faulty thermostat wire that was shorting out and he spent several hours where he ran a new wire from the furnace to the thermostat. On the surface it may appear we are a little more expensive than the average company, but we believe the price was very fair for diagnosing the problem as well as having all the parts on the truck to repair the problem. Having a well trained technician with a fully stocked truck who shows up on time and works diligently to fix your problem actually saves you time and money in the long run.

Description of Work: With the time the quality of the customer service deteriorated significantly. Person who screens initial calls is only oriented toward setting a service appointment and making sure technician is billing you for a visit. Charging premium prices do not help company either. Our customer representatives are trained to be call takers and dispatchers; they are not trained to learn technical aspects of the business. The last visit to the home we surveyed the client immediately follow the service call and they had said the service went well and they were always happy with our company. THIS COMPANY IS VERY PROFESSIONAL. THEY KEEP THEIR APPOINTMENTS OR CALL IF THEY WILL BE LATE. THE QUALITY OF THEIR WORK IS VERY HIGH. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM, BUT I WOULD WARN PEOPLE THAT THEY ARE A LITTLE EXPENSIVE, BUT IT ISN'T TOO BAD.

WE ASKED FOR A COMPLETE ESTIMATE FOR THE JOB. THEY GAVE US THEIR ESTIMATE AND WE GAVE APPROVAL FOR THEM TO PROCEED. THEY REMOVED THE OLD UNIT AND INSTALLED A NEW ONE. THEN THEY BILLED US $500 MORE THAN THE ESTIMATE! WE FEEL THAT WAS WRONG!
